Doctors need to read this and re learn what the requirements are for the new system

What medical conditions qualify for the use of marijuana as a treatment option under the Marijuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR)?

The MMPR do not contain any limitations on the conditions for which a health care practitioner can support the use of marijuana for medical purposes.

This is straight from the health Canada web site

Going to be taking this back in to my doc after he said "No Go" and Chronic Pain only at that

Zenabis' website is a joke. But they are a subsid. of http://www.internationalherbs.net/, no idea why they screwed up the name of their own company.

They also are "a proud member of the Canadian National Medical Marijuana Association, even though the CNMMA is just some brand new website (weeks old) with no one listed.

don't know where you all live, but 'round these parts, there are more than a few pot friendly doc's, most of which use cannabis themselves ;)

Yup. It ain't hard, if you're one of those solution oriented types, not the whiny, complainer types...I can't wait for legalization so all the professional victims will find a new banner to hide behind. :woohoo:

Medical marijuana licence granted to Tweed Inc. of Smiths Falls
Company has set up shop in former Hershey plant

OTTAWA — Health Canada says it has awarded a licence to Tweed Inc. of Smiths Falls to produce medical marijuana.

Tweed CEO Chuck Rifici said Tuesday he wants to have 25 strains available for sale by April 1 — when new rules governing the pot-growing industry come into effect.

The company recently acquired the Smiths Falls plant formerly occupied by chocolate maker Hershey.

Under the current regime, marijuana users are able to grow the weed in their own homes. But as of April 1, they will have to procure it from licensed growers such as Tweed, who will manufacture a standardized product from secure premises.

Tweed is the fifth firm to be granted a licence by Health Canada, and the first one based in Eastern Ontario.

CanniMed of Saskatchewan — the monopoly supplier to the federal government since the medicinal marijuana program was introduced in 2001 — was awarded a licence last fall. Three others — Mettrum Ltd., The Peace Naturals Projects Inc. and Bedrocan Canada Inc. — have won licences more recently. They are based in or north of Toronto.

Tweed has about 10,000 plants under cultivation.

The active ingredients, which can be smoked or ingested, alleviate pain and other ailments.

Some of the product will be sold in April at prices ranging from $5 to $12 per gram, depending on the strain. Tweed is committing at least 10 per cent of its production for sale at the lowest regular price.

In addition, low-income patients will get a 20 per cent discount.

10,000 plants on the day of approval, quick ramp up

400+ applicants, we should know within half a year how "easy" it is to become licensed.

Some news about potential shortages come april 1. Kinda funny there is a looming shortage, meanwhile the market is as flooded as its ever been, It will be interesting to see how enticing the legal prices and market will be to the average user.

7bucks a gram isn't appealing....5 a gram after tax and delivery might be able to compete..

Most people can find a o of quality meds for 150 an o or under... I see alot of people ordering a small amount and re-using the container..order a few gram every month just to be able to carry...

Lol, Tweed has definitely greased the right wheels. How do you get 10,000 plants so quickly?
Maybe they had 4 DG's with 2500 plants each and transferred the plants over?

Someone said they heard tweed was approved two months ago but requested not to be listed.

$5/g is much more appealing than $10, but they only maintain 10% stock at the low price...

I can see a resurgence of small 2 light grows with people selling the products directly. Its not optimum to have it sit around but even at $120/oz you're making $1920.
