So let’s continue this thread and i will bring you up to date about the haze projects...

First i want to write down the history of the purple haze x panama #7 male:

I knew the php was one of best candidates to find a haze male that carries the traits i am after. So i flowered the 4 most promising males (after taking clones), to then outcross them and progeny test them.

As a mother for outcrossing i chose a skunk dominant local cut known as „die grüne hessin“. Not because i need yet another skunk x haze, but because i know what to expect of a skunk x haze cross. It seemed like a good choice for enabling me to judge the potential of the different males. here’s a pic of the mum:

picture.php

The progeny of the 4 males differed a lot between each others. Male #5 produced hay(ze). Male #4 didn’t really come through in the cross, plants were more indica leaning than any of the other males, skunky terpene profiles (not sweet skunky, but stinking skunky). #3 and #7 produced the desired hazy expressions, with the #7 more defined and reliably, it was easy to choose #7 as a winner: his offspring really stood out and made me excited about future combinations with other mothers.

Turned out that the cut i chose for outcrossing is good for producing skunk buds, but it’s not a very good skunk to outcross, as it passes on undesirable traits. Yet the plants of the dgh x php #7 combination still were of very high quality (especially the hazy side) - all the more promising for me ;)

In the following i will post pictures of the progeny test.

let's start with different phenos of "Die Grüne Hessin x (Purple Haze x Panama) #3"

Simply spectacular dude!

So, your final criteria for the male selection was the effect, the high of the cross done, isn´t it? The pics of the offspring with the DGH like mother looks very nice bro, delicate it seems!

Wish yo the best in this project!

muy buenas rubio :)

yeah exactly the prioritized criteria for me were smell and effect. male #7 passed on haze smell and effect consistently...

i also had a friend grow out the various dgh x php combinations, we did not communicate about the grow until everything was said and done. he then completely independently presented me with his favorite combination: dgh x php#7 - i felt very lucky that moment :D

thanks for the nice words and passing by!

un abrazo

great to have you around randa!

so far the purple haze x panama has yielded 4 keepers, one female php as well as the male php, a very special jack flash x php (church incense!) and a nice jaggen bx1 (more airy, sativaish buds and even more intense citrus aroma than the original clone)... php are the best seeds i have ever bought ;)

overall the jaggen backcrosses turned out very well with the php, the bx1 was quite a mix of phenos, but every single one of exceptional quality. the Bx2 are very close to the clone already, not sure if a third bx is even necessary to have it stabilised in seedform... i will write a lot more about these soon...

have a good time friend :)

thanks for the kind words hydro101!

i must admit i didn't do the grüne hessin justice by simply calling it a skunk dominant plant. she's more than that, has that special twist to it. great plant to grow fine weed but unforunately she didn't outcross in the way i hoped...

good vibes :)

ok now let's see what's up next...

at the same time that i pollinated "die grüne hessin" with the various php males, i also pollinated different strains with mixed pollen of all the males, to see how the mothers in generally combine with php.

so there are:

jack flash x php
jack herer x php
very berry x php
kali mist#26 x php

jack flash x php is fantastic, found a very very special plant (antique wood, frankincense + purple haze burgundry aroma) in them. the average expressions are also very nice... this combination will have me busy for a while ;)

jack herer x php were garbage, i'm not going to bother examining those further.

haven't tried the very berry x php yet, the kali mist#26 x php are being tested at the moment...

from the jf x php several males were used to create a jaggen bx1, with outstanding results, 3 bx1 males were selected for the creation of the bx2.

once i knew that the php#7 has the potential to be the imho ideal haze male, i had to try more combinations with it. the shivas haze and la tijuana were crossed to php#7, with very promising results - more about that later on.

so for now you have a brief overview of what's going on with the hazemania...

then let's see some pics:

jack flash x (purple haze x panama) frankincense expression:

i suspect the old sensi nl#5 x haze present in the jack flash synergized with the purple haze to create this individual, i have never found a haze where the incense aroma was so defined and intense before... it is the antique wood-leather-frankincense expression i have been searching for quite some time :)

hazy vibes!

Is this the dark/brown you refer to that you recently found ?

Sounds like you have a special male the Kali cross interest me .Im curious what could could about from a Thunk cross to the PHP or a Nevilles haze

Much Respect

yeah that's the brown haze i mentioned, although it's not really brown on the plant just turns brown with drying...

i found a brown jack flash x (jack flash x php) that was brown on the plant already, this one was a really nice nl x haze pheno (without noticable php influence whatsoever) and the reason why i think that the frankincense jf x php is a combination of the nl x haze grandmother and the php:

one of my favorite jaggen bx1 phenos, very hazy smell/taste, smooth, happy mellow high without much of a ceiling, just overall pleasant :)
