Uphill indeed,

70 days until this cluster fuck gets really interesting..

lol i seriously do not see how the gov't does not see, or the people they try to brainwash, that way more problems are being created then are even being solved.

why is there not a big list of doctors as well as lp's on the hc website?

My family doctor will not sign my paper work{or anyone's for that matter} so i found another doctor to do it via skype. Anywho the funny thing is when my family doctor gets a patient with MS or autism, any number of things for which they choose cannabis as part of there meds, she gives them my phone number, and i get a call. She does not want to deal with it, in a paper trail sort of way. Strange times. I am a human and i dont get payd for helping folks i do it cause i am a human who has been in hard place with pain and injury i understand the mental anguish, and help as best i can. Fear not

By the numbers:

477 Number of Canadians authorized to possess marijuana for medical purposes in 2002

41,384 Estimated number of Canadians authorized to possess marijuana for medical purposes under MMPR in 2014

308,755 Estimated number of Canadians authorized to possess marijuana for medical purposes under MMPR in 2024

$10 to $15 Current street price, per gram, for dried cannabis

$1.80 to $5 Price per gram when purchased for medical purpose by licensed consumer, 2012

$7.60 Price per gram when purchased for medical purpose by licensed consumer, under new MMPR in 2014

$1,686,600 Revenue to Government of Canada from sales of dried marijuana and seeds, fiscal 2011*-12

$1.3-billion Estimated revenue to “legal marijuana supply industry” by 2024

41,384 This number means shit and their projections are solely based on it. If it wasn't for the the 90% of people using their license to make money that number would be way down. Here are the stats the 2013 are still not available https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=276416

Go back to 2009 or earlier and those are the real numbers before the hand full of doctors decided to cash in on their signatures.

Street price? Well even if oz's are going for $200 then that's only $7.14 per gram. A lot of people I know that grow are now flogging oz's for $140-160 that's $5-$5.71/gr.

Out of 20 or so people that I know that smoke 3-5 joints per day no one even cares about doing all the work required just so they could order weed through mail order on top of that 18 have no injuries, pain or diseases that could be medicated with weed.

The governments best bet is to do it like Colorado but they need to announce to visiting foreigners that by buying/consuming legal marihuana it will not interfere with them being able to re enter Canada like with the US if the feds find out. Also it should be like home brewing too, buy a yearly license for say $100 and you can grow 6 plants or so in your house. There are a LOT better ways them the upcoming medical cluster fuck based on skewed numbers.

There was a lot of misinformation back in day about cannabis . Seeing how most doctors cite information from other sources instead of doing a study themselves a lot of doctors didn't know the benefits back in 2009 . Hell a lot of doctors still haven't cited that new information yet. At least that "hand full" you talk about seem to be understanding .

I don't think you believe this plant actually heals you . I don't believe you really know how to use this plant medically as it comes across in your post that you believe people shpuldnt use more than you can handle or else they are abusers and so are there doctors ....... I take personal offence to most of your Lack of knowledge comments such as this quote .

Hmmm 3/4 years is not going to make any difference in doctors view of cannabis vs their insurance vs their college not approving of them when it come to prescribing weed. We're not talking about decades here.

I can say for sure that huge increase in licenses probably came from about 10-15 doctors nation wide charging from $500-1500 per signature and renewals. On top of that the gov had a ace in a hole, let these docs sign, approve the licenses in 1-2 weeks and let the system get corrupted. Once they had the "numbers" to show the general public that the system is abused no one cared that they announced the termination of the system and a transitions to a commercial one.

Hell I even went to one with legitimate issues (had mri/cat scans/xrays) and he refused to sign, but singed for someone else who had no issues LOL.

Phillip Morris, the world’s biggest cigarette producer, announced today that they will join the marijuana legalization bandwagon and start producing marijuana cigarettes. To be marketed under the brand “Marlboro M”, it will be made available for sale through marijuana-licensed outlets in the state of Colorado, and Washington when it becomes commercially legal later this year.

Serafin Norcik, Phillip Morris’ Sr. Vice President for Marketing said in an interview that the company has been high on the idea of marketing cannabis, and has been monitoring the market for some time. It was only when the recent legalization initiatives — winning in Colorado and Washington — that they finally made the decision to take a leap of faith.

Norcik added that they have begun contacting former drug lords in Mexico and Paraguay, currently the largest marijuana-producing countries in the world, for the possibility of setting up a distribution ring across the North and South American continents, to streamline the supply lines.

Since only tobacco products are currently banned in advertisements and promotions in the United States, Phillip Morris also has set aside a huge $15 billion advertising budget just to promote the new “Marlboro M” and are now negotiating with major networks and publishers, to start marketing the product to consumers in the beginning of 2015.

Norcik also revealed that a big initial push is planned around January next year, and have acquired most of the ad airtime for Superbowl XLIX. However, since marijuana will be legal only in Colorado and Washington during the 2015 Superbowl, all the ads will be blacked out in all other States and will only show a static “M” logo for the duration of the ad.

Phillip Morris shares hit an all-time high on the marijuana news and shot up to $998.00 from $83.03 just a few hours after the announcement went public.
