really was a great game, literally an inch away on that last pass from being 9ers v broncos @ met-life

sherman definitely got outta hand...reppin LOB(lords of brotherhood, which is a crip gang reference) suprising from someone outta compton? classless piece of shit...writing this made me realize it's not necessarily the seahawks i don't like...it's purley sherman.

damn...what a close one.

seahawks will definitely need to step it up if they want to beat peyton and his arsenal of weapons away from c-link..

Truly a game of inches...

FTR... During his rant when he shouted LOB, he was referring to the Legion of Boom - the nickname for Seattle's secondary.

But even as a Seahawks fan that was obviously thrilled with the win, even I will say that he was way out of hand, and came off a little too ghetto and classless for my liking. He really is an elite corner, and undoubtedly one of the best, but sometimes his over-the-top trash talk takes away from his talents. And, I'm slightly embarrassed by it... now rather than people reacting to Seattle's win and chances at MetLife, they're reacting to Sherman's postgame interview....

Really curious to see what Crabtree actually said, if anything, about him lol.

One thing that could hinder Denver & Payton's offensive performance is going to be the weather at MetLife... Payton's play in cold weather has had it's low points.

If Seattle brings their A-game offense, and defense plays up to snuff, we have a shot.

Richard Sherman was a bit of a sore winner. He made a great pass defense to tip the ball to his teammate, saved the game and all that, but to pat Crabtree on the rear and say good game right afterward was more sticking it in his face rather than good sportsmanship.

So he's cocky. A large part of success in athletics is having confidence, which may come out as cockiness. In his case, definitely.
I get that. Calling Crabtree not a top 20 receiver, that's trash talk. Can you name me 20 receivers better than him? Not on his own team, certainly, except Harvin, the man who doesn't play.
Of course, Crabtree was injured most of the year, so he didnt put up top 20 numbers. But if he plays 14+ games in a year, he's probably good for 1200+yds and 9+ tds, that's solidly within top 20 for receivers.

And Sherman can say these things because he made a great play in the conference championship, a game-sealing and saving play, propelling his team to the Superbowl.

But he better watch out, if a receiver makes a game winning play on him. Granted, that may not happen for a long time. Or it could happen in two weeks.

I will say this, this will make next season's Niners-Hawks matchups epic. No love lost between these teams, and especially these two players, indeed.

Supposedly Crabtree tried to start a fight at a charity event last summer. Crabtree doesn't seem that type of guy, so im sure theres more to that story.

As much as I wasn't stoked on his postgame interview, I do have to add that, he is indeed the best in the business... People can say whatever they want about his character, but you can't deny this:

FOX Sports: NFL ‏@NFLonFOX said:
Since @RSherman_25 entered the League:
• 1st in picks (20)
• 1st in passes defensed (61)
• Opp QB Rtg when targeted 39.4 (1st)

I will have to agree that Crabtree is certainly a top 20 receiver.

Got to give props to my 9ers for making it as far as they did. Three trips to the post season in three years is a good thing...especially with so much potential coming down the road.

Sucks that the 9ers lost, but the injuries would have seriously hurt our chances against Denver anyway. When Iupati went out, I thought..."ok...we can deal with that...kinda"...and then Bowman went out...which was a HUGE blow...very frustrating game to watch after that.

My take on the Sherman thing is....He's entertaining and despite his obvious lack of maturity, he's a really talented CB. The guy has had a chip on his shoulder since his Stanford days and going 5th round probably didn't help his outlook.

So, he has some personal beef with Crab and he was frothing. I understand that. The thing is, you never saw players from back in the day go on rants like that. I think it's just a sign of the times, along with an overall lack of maturity and respect for the game and your opponent, but it's entertaining so people eat it up.

Just like when Kap did his superman bit last week...that shit was fucking dumb too. Just shut the fuck up and play football. Win graciously and stop mugging for the cameras and your twitter followers. This is football, not some soap opera. If you score a TD or get a key sack or an INT, don't go running around like a jerk, slapping your opponents on the ass and talking shit. You got beef with Crab? Take that shit to the parking lot, son. Save the celebrating for when you're holding that trophy over your head at the end of the season. Rant over.

The way Denver is playing, I think they might have this thing sewn up. I'm rooting for Denver because they are (at least offensively speaking) the best team in football right now.

I'm leaning toward Denver as well but not so sure that it's that cut and dried. Denver has never faced a secondary like this, with talent across 4 positions. Does Sherman shut down Demaryius, does Kam shut down Julius? If you can limit Manning's weapons and keep their run game in check, and score 20+ points of your own, then it might be a game...

Looks like Sherman has sorta, kinda apologized. To a reporter. In a text. But still, it takes a big man to admit he's wrong. And he's being smart about not trash-talking Denver before the game, so he's not a total fool.

Navorro's ACL/MCL injury was sad to see, but it's the nfl, that's about an 8 month recovery, he might miss training camp but he should be able to go in week 1. Might take till week 4 or 5 before he's back to his old self.

Do the Niners have some good talent in the pipeline, some good draft picks? A healthy Crabtree for the whole season could mean an extra win or two, maybe enough for home field during the playoffs, assuming no dropoff anywhere else.
Kaepernick with another year under his belt should be better. He's not a TO prone qb in general, except against the Hawks. But's he's young and a hard worker and he'll get better at passing from the pocket, as the great Joe Montana recommended...

Go BRONCOS!! :woohoo:

…As for 'the Sherman rant', I don’t get all the hoopla…Sure, his post game rant was a tad over the top, immature, maybe even “un-sportsman like”…But give the guy a break, he was all amped up on adrenaline; most people would find it difficult to be eloquent 30 seconds after the biggest play of their career. Sherman is no schlub, he’s a Stanford grad for Dog’s sake…maybe you could say he should have known better, but geeze…

…It was kinda a nice change though from the typical, boring, rehearsed post game comment, in which one thanks Jesus.

Besides, we’re taking about an NFL player…at least he’s not an accused murderer or a wife beater… :2cents:

the whole Sherman rant is out of proportion.....

the entire deal stems from a Charity event last summer where CrabTree, and Sherman, exchanged words and have had a public feud ever sense....

then take the situation @ hand... Sherman out plays the guy on the field...and wins he's dream to the super bowl....

then proceeds to rub that in Crabtree's face, with a " good game bro"... and a pat on the butt....the Richard Sherman WAY....always loud AND over the top.... the Sherman way

then Crabtree punches Sherman in the face-mask.....

What would U do/......
react w/ if sum-one punched U in the face.........
on TV.... after U won....cocky or not Crabtree thru 1st punch, Sherm took the penalty and walked away......still pissed, off course he's going to go off.....

they both created the problem , and can live w/ the results....

personally it looks like a well planned publicity stunt to AMP up the Super Bowl coverage, and off set sum odds against Denver.......

all the while creating the attention Seattle wanted, ...

makes U go.....hhhhhmmmmm..........

I suspect you are right on in your suspicion that this was a PR stunt…
And wow, I hadn’t heard about the 'face mask punch' piece of the story yet…In that case, Sherman was actually extremely composed under all of the circumstances, IMHO.

On a side note, legalizing cannabis appears to do wonders for a football team! :kos:
…The joy of legalization, raised morale to such an extent that they actually played better, lol.

Too bad for the attendees that the game will be held in NJ! :biglaugh:

This is really going to be an interesting matchup... being #1 offense vs. #1 defense. It will test the age-old saying of "Offense sells tickets, defense wins titles" or something to that effect. And will they put Sherm on Thomas? That will be a cool match-up in its own.

Close spread...

Go Hawks!

Sherman was quiet after the loss to the Colts. After TY Hilton flame broiled him on a TD bomb. Now Manning will will pick apart the Legion of Boom and destroy the Seahawks. Although I gotta say I kinda like them. They are a refreshing bunch.

I didn't have any problem with what Sherman said or did. It was more than an exchange of words at the charity event. They were both invited there by Larry Fitzgerald. Crabtree evidently said something derogatory to Sherman then Sherman said something. Other people including Fitzgerald settled it down and Sherman let it go. But during the rest of the day Crabtree kept saying stuff. Sherman out of respect to the event and Fitzgerald stayed quiet and let it go. Crabtree is a mouthy punk. His own team had trouble with him in the beginning.

Then during the game you know they were both saying stuff. Plus they tried to lull Sherman asleep and ignore him all game and then try to punk him at the end by getting the winning score on him. You know Crabtree wanted it. He probably begged them for the play so he could talk shit. Except Sherman punked him. Plus the charity event BS needed to be revenged. So he verbally went off and the rest is history.

You go Sherman. That said Manning is going to destroy your team.

the word punch is defined as having a closed fist which Crabtree did not....I believe the word you want is push, he pushed him in the facemask ! I get it the word punch makes Crab sound like more of a bad guy but It's incorrect...so is defending Sherman, what he said was poor poor sportsmanship albeit Crab's push was as well but Sherman disrespected a peer on national t.v. and that is below the belt if you ask me...

and now Sherman is complaining that the word 'thug' is now the new 'nigger.' And now if we were to say he acted like a madman would madman be the new code for? yup, you know it, the *N* word :)

Sherman acted like a thug, if somehow he equates that to something else then that's on him, 100%. I don't know, he brought it up, not me; I thought thug the moment I saw it post-game but Sherman sees it differently, again, that's all on him.......

Richard Sherman's own words may have made him the center of attention but it is the language of his critics that is now under fire. The Seattle Seahawks' talented and talkative cornerback struck back at those who called him a "thug" for his demeanor during a loud and proud post-game interview after the NFC Championship Game on Sunday.

"The only reason it bothers me is because it seems like it's the accepted way of calling somebody the N-word nowadays," Sherman said during a press conference on Wednesday. "It's like everyone else said the N-word and they said 'Thug' and they're like, 'Ah, that's fine.' That's where it kind of takes me aback and it's kind of disappointing."

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/22/richard-sherman-thug-n-word-press-conference_n_4646871.html

that's it Sherman, take the ridicule for bad behavior and throw it back making it racial, very nice.

no he's not........everyone called Aaron Hernandez a thug too, You're called a thug if you act like a thug.......and he did.....

The difference here is that Hernandez, is a suspected murderer…

While Sherman graduated from Stanford with honors, (having the second highest GPA of his graduating class), does a lot for his community and from everything people say, is an all around upstanding guy.

…Acting a tad over hyped mere seconds after making a huge play in playoff game, moments after being pushed by Crabtree, just doesn’t rise to the level of “thug” in my mind, (note: he didn’t even swear in his “rant”.)
