What thermometers can handle being in the vacuum?
I am still struggling with my oven. Had the temp set at 140 and it was there for hours. Put the material in, let it sit for an hour, IR gun said material was at 125F so I turned on the vac, pulled to 750torr, bubbles started forming and a few popped but not much. I turned off the vac pump and let it all sit under vac for awhile. There was very little bubbling, I tested the material and it isn't purged after 2 hours in the oven under vac.
Sorry to ask again but do you guys leave your pump on continuously? AI support said to not leave the pump on as it will wreck it after awhile. I'm not overly concerned about wrecking the pump compared to over vac'ing the material.
I'm using a 3 CFM single stage pump.
Previous to the oven I had a normal vac chamber. I heated up the chamber to around 120F on the outside, turned on the pump and bubbles kept popping. If I turned off the pump the bubbles stopped popping so I'm wondering if this is the problem. I'm pretty certain my vac chamber wasn't as airtight as the oven is.
Any suggestions? I did an auto tune on the oven later on and will try this tomorrow. So far it hasn't been plug and play.
