bitchin grow cannabean! I've used the h&g full line with great results, but I've also used base only and drip clean and had as good if not better results.I'd definitely be interesteded to see some more of your grows.

How has HG been going for you? I should be getting my seed here soon. My next purchase are going to be nutes. I'm still com the fence between Canna's Coco line or House And Gardens. I hear that HG has a lot of N lockouts or Cannas PH isn't stable and over priced. Any suggestions or opinions? Thanks.

Green81: thanks. technically if you do a scrog true to its name, you will have low plant counts and a large controlled canopy. a SOG is the high plant count, usually 4 per sq ft. i call this tent the 'scrog tent' even though this grow is more like a SOG. scrogs are great, give it a try!

LEDev: thanks for the tip. makes since, usually midway through flower is when the medium seems to retain more water. i like multiple feedings per day so i may try perlite. i just dislike all the perlite dust and pretreating that needs to be done, can't gunk up my reservoir.

Otis & hank: I've tried all of H&G products except amino whatever and magic green. I used to use their "full" line before they started making all those new additives in the last few years.

You can get by running just A&B (I run Aqua A&B because I recirculate in coco). That's where I would start,. I started with Lucas formula and A&B is practically lucas, just a different brand.
Once you can dial down a strain with that, start adding their additives in this order per their feed chart and have your strain dialed with each additive before you add the next one on the list:
1. H&G bud xl
2. a sugar/carb additive - AN bud candy/botanicare sweet/etc
3. H&G top booster
4. top shooter/shooting powder - works well in conjunction with top booster (but never at the same time!), will add weight but distort bud structure and can burn the plants severely if too much is used.

I have had no problems with H&G but my pics show I'm no expert. the top shooter/shooting powder is the dangerous stuff. I love the rest of H&G line mostly because it is so pH stable and the feed chart is very accurate with measurments. I never have to use pH up or down which is a major time saver. Using GH i always had to adjust the pH. never tried canna, my store doesn't sell them and their base nutrient was too expensive when I was looking to switch. I fell in love with H&G after graduating from Lucas.


Scrog tent - Day 57 flush day 0
anyway...here we are 4 days away from chop in the scrog tent. they will get their first flush tomorrow. I like to see the leaves losing their color before I chop.
I flush with RO water for at least 4 days. On the first day of flush, i will run enough water through until the runoff is less than 0.4 ec, this can be anywhere from 25-40 gallons. the next 3-5 days I run 25-30 gallons through per day, which is approx 1 gallon per plant in my setup.

otis33: to be honest, since H&G doesn't specifically say what's in the bottle, I never know for sure. I think it does have some carb but i like to add bud candy...just what i'm used to I guess. thanks!

the scrog tent (13 BDH, 6 OG kush, 5 DT7, 1 GDP) was harvested and dry weight came in at 575g:

BDH - 320g - 24.6 g/plant
OGK - 115g - 19.2 g/plant
DT7 - 100g - 20 g/plant
GDP - 40g - 40g/plant

clearly I should be growing GDP to max yeilds but she takes way too long in veg to be worth it. plus very hard to trim.

those 28 BDH I started in the SOG tent and said they wouldn't get too tall? I was wrong...stretched almost into the light. I thought it would hurt my yeild but wow the SOG tent is efficient. I didn't get any pics before chop unfortunately. it's all BDH so nothing you haven't seen.

BDH - 385g - 16 g/plant
Casey Jones - 40g - 10 g/plant

HALF of a 1kw SOG tent yeilded 425g on a grow that i lost control of. compared to the scrog tent that held 25 plants total and yeilded only 110g more.

i still have work to do before i have dialed in blue dream in the sog tent. i'll be making some changes to the tent before starting the next round.

Lyryc: I didn't quite get 1 gpw. the scrog tent has been averaging around 575-650g per harvest, 0.6gpw. The SOG tent averages 350-400g each table, so 800g, 0.8gpw.
I think I'll get to the 1gpw mark in the SOG tent first. Ideally I'd like to use a 6'x6' canopy under a 1kw light to achieve max yield but I work in tents so I am limited in space.

Hanghanglow: They must have been too big, they stretched way too far into the light even though I started them at 8" after 2 day veg. I am making changes to the SOG room to counteract this stretching, so stay tuned for that.



I harvest the dubtech7 SOG table in the pic above. The plants were smaller than I was hoping and yielding less; I got 280g of dubtech7 off half a 1kw (a 2'x4' table and 28 plants).
Much less than my bluedream harvests in yield and quality so that's the last of the dubtech I'll grow. I now only have Blue Dream Haze and a Tahoe OG mother that I cannot seem to clone.

The scrog tent was immediately filled after I chopped the GDP and others you see in the pics a few posts back. That was back early november.

The SOG tent is temporarily empty. Changes are coming to the SOG tent, pictures to come of that. I'm now recultivating a bunch of BDH moms to restart the SOG tent.

Hey man. Props on your yields in your tents. I too use a tent 2k in a 4x8 dtw coco. Im curious if u do any defoliating during bloom at all or just let it go and grow .

forgot to ask in the last post- what brand and size oscillating fan are you using in your tent. And how is it mounted. It looks in one pic as if its mounted to a 2x4 or something, if so how is the 2x4 supported or mounted. Also do your plant ever grow into the fan or suffer from being to close to it?

nice, idk how i missed this one. I use the Aqua Flakes too , been experimenting with additives and right now only using the Multi Zen and Bud XL. I have also had great results just with the base A & B
