Bubba Kush S1s: Info and grow-along

W89, are those bubba s1s or fat bubbas? Wider, fatter, rounder leafs of a different shape than any of the other pics in this thread. Not hatin', just sayin'. They still look great though.

I popped just one S1 seed and mine looks exactly like his..
Huge and I mean huge fan leaves...fat and some what round. Also the node spacing is insanely tight. I'm just putting her into flower 2 days from now. Very slow veg but the root mass is thick..Probably root bound on me just a bit before going into the 5 gal pot to flower.
So for me his fat leaves are normal and the rest in here look alittle different.
Would love to post a pic but I don't go down that road for me.

Cheers.

sounds about right then.. I wish I vegged these out tbh but I needed a fast round, Will deffo give these another go some time, and veg them out.. I got some Happy Brother S1 going atm too they will be the same in terms of growth being a 12/12 from seed.. No stretch because of being mainly indica in growth structure I'l be happy with an OZ from the 4, as they are only taking up 1sqft...

The brown pistils are burn from a little too much alfalfa fpe - not horrible but certainly aint happy about it.

Really liking #4, nice structure, smaller calyxes - finer hairs, more incense smell than bubba funk. Slower to mature in flower but clones are much more vigorous in veg.

I like the pics Bigshrimp. I have early browning pistils on two of my Bubbas. My EC is a bit high due to a mixed strain run. Bubbas tend to brown out easy for me too. I think you and me have the tallest stretched phenos. My tall branched out one smells like grape at times but fruity all the time with a hint of the classic Bubba smell underneath. If it stays grapey I will call it Hubba Bubba.

When are you looking to chop? Can't wait for a smoke report.

My tall one has almost no smell to it - big frosty nugs though.

I'll chop probably about a month from now - see how it goes.

Thanks for the reply W89. Mine are from July 2013 and all the leaves look more like this pic by Lubdanugs back a ways in the thread:

Not as fat with more pronounced serration and pointier tips. Chalk it up to phenotype variation I guess.

Bigshrimp, those macros look flat-out dankalicious bro.

I had one of 3 that looked like W89's. It was difficult to distinguish between leaf and flower on that 9ne. None had much of a smell or were worth keeping. I have another pack on the way and I am hoping to find a winner.

I've got all of them down except #2. Got some hack shots of #4, which if you cant tell is the one i'm fixated on.

Early smoke report - made a little hash from #1 when i was done trimming it up. This was like 11 at night, smoked it with a little pile of stem calyxs underneath. Found my self laying down on the couch and next thing i know its 5am. Straight knocked out!

Its all a bit green still so ill get back to you all with flavor and aromas in a bit.

Heres #4 under a couple different light settings.

Bigshrimp the plants look great! i would have thought you'll get some tasty smoke form that.
those internodes on number 4 look like purple kush or an OG kush, very interesting!
sometimes its good to keep them in really bright light during the stretch and that can discourage it. Chem D does the same thing too.

Luther, there wont be any new packs going in for the next few months, but i think clarence should have a few re-lists going up at some point from the stock he had.

also consider the Purple Kush x Bubba Kush which has very bubba-like phenos and is possibly a little more potent

also i have some Fat bubba F2's (regular seeds) ready to go in a week or so and there should be some phenos in there that are very close to bubba.

regards

VG

Just thought I would post up a couple quick shots from the Bubba harvest. Sorry about the quality and I can't remember what pic belong to what Bubba except the frosty and bigger buds came from the tall pheno that I had. It smells of grape and some Bubba. The short small bud plants have pure Bubba smell. Well maybe one of the short plants had a OG smell to it at times.

Didn't do too tight of a trim yet. Dad died then dog died then cat went missing. I am lucky I even cut them down.

Thanks VG for the seeds. I may try to reveg the tall one if it is still alive. Haven't turned the tent on for a few weeks.

Tall pheno.

hey scissor, sorry to hear of your troubles, but the plants look great and i would say the photos are pretty good. interesting to hear of a grape smell, it seems these F1s are capable of a wide variety of terpenes alongside the bubba funk.
i never trim the bubba that tight - because i like a joint and the sugar leaf smokes like the best, tastiest tobacco in the world ;)

Here's a bubba s1 clone making some seeds outdoors at 26N. Not looking bad considering it's the dead of winter. Temps near 40F for a few nights purpled em up a bit.
