Hay guys ;). I got tired of looking at the 25g tote I was using for my rez. I went to my hydro store to see what kind of deal I could get. I found one I liked. The Botanicare 40g so I got that for 109$ Sure does work better at keeping the Organics in suspension. It's also much lower to the floor making it easy to clean out when I need to. The tote was a pain it was like a magnet for the Organics. I had to wipe down the sides and bottom every time I wanted some Nutrient solution.

I hooked up a garden hose to the mag 9.5 pump..Its easy now I just pump enough to fill the buckets. Before I had to scoop out a liter at a time to fill the buckets..

nothing like new toys eh?

mmmm, this round of glue is particularly good, maybe its just because my jar has been empty and all i had was 3 month cured glue buds, changes the flavor to more of the chemsis side i think, loses some sour power, but fresh its really nicely sour and sweet....

speaking of treats,i got some hopefully well purged bho...

until recently i didnt even know it was available here and i understand the dude who makes it does nothing but make bho and waxes so hes got all the proper gear to do it right and do the purging correctly,i dont really know anything about it,the making of it and all that, aside from what i read on icmag that is,and my source used all the right phrases to describe the process...im hoping that i can get a batch of glue dry sift run through and made into wax or oil...

Nice score PF!

You mentioned that it helps keep things in suspension better -- what do you attribute that to?

I ask because I've wondered about my setup & how well things are kept in suspension. (SM90, ProTeKt, Ful-Power) I run a waterfall-style setup, from a main tall-shaped rez like this:

418pzsm4wXL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

..About 23 gallons full, up and into a 5 gallon bucket, fitted with a bulkhead & drain (back into the main rez) so that it's always kept full until about 2" from the top. Total vertical rise of about 5', via a 330 (?) GPH pump. The blumats are plugged into that.

Anyway, I've wondered for a long time what kind of job it does to keep things stirred up..

What is it about this container that you like better/seems to help in that?

(I've even considered putting another pump in the main rez, with a short sort of "U" shaped run on the pump, just to keep it aerated - like a powerhead basically)

:thank you:

I think its from the rez being so shallow. Also the material its made from. The tote was a 25g tall.. I need more time with it to say for sure 100%.. after its been broke in we sahll see how it holds up.

Mine was similar to yours but black. You can tell if your nutrients are clear all the Organics are on the bottom and sides of the rez. I use a huge air pump with2 3" air stones 1 mag 9.5 and mag 5 for circulation. My water was alwys moving well but still the organics stuck to the rez.

Interesting - I seem to notice more buildup in my old/smaller/shallower) rez, .. I went to the taller one because it had a smaller footprint.. :)

But as you say, the material maybe?

Anyway - I'll have to stay tuned to hear how your experience works out.. :)

:thank you:

i would say it has more to do with the shape and size than anything,in a round container the way the water column will form will lead it to collapse at the top rather than forming a tighter loop like a square shape container will although i believe in a square container you end up with a two lobe structure of water currents that keeps the particles suspended better..

My old one was Round. had some seriously strong pumps in there and it still settled most of the organics. I had to get wet every dam time to mix it back in. The color is noticeably clear. I don't think these are made for what we use them for. If the plastic is very porous it will catch the Organic particles then its to late it will just continue to build up until I wipe it off. I hope I got it fixed. If not I will have to make something to wipe the sides and bottom. A sponge on a stick lol...
