Yesterday, I made a simple quasi-SCROG frame using my cubes + 36" dowels from HD

Yes it should be lower, but the stalks are already fairly stiff. I split the Y in the bifurcation while spreading the 2 main stems

Girls were a bit grumpy after being tied down

I make these mistakes so you don't have to :artist:

I now realize that I did not think my SCROG frame through. Putting it over a bubbler presents a problem changing nutes. Root systems are too big to lift plants out, or raise the lid, or...:bashhead:

Installing a drain valve would solve this, if done in advance

My other dumb move: Daily spraying my plants with a diluted mix of CaMg+

I couldn't figure out why the pistils were not fluffing. They look dried out but white

Plants are a lovely shade of green

Primary leafs are much bigger now.

Bud sites are setting up.

I am very impressed at how well the 210w leds stacks up against 432w hot5s. That said, the hot5s cover a 2 x 4 area. The leds more like 2 x 3

I was in HD getting a few things, when I went down the pump isle, and found an inexpensive solution for my weekly draining the bubbler problem.

I always thought about getting a wet vac, but the ones I saw were ~ $150. HOWEVER, next to them were 2 < $30 choices, one has a 2.5g capacity, and one that is a universal head that fits on any 5g bucket. Ding

UFO clones

Bud sites are set. I have upping ppms, now ~ 600. Friday's nute change will be ~ 800

Pretty clear evidence that high ppms are not necessary in hydro, at least when the nutes are being delivered efficiently

Pics 3-5 are from my hot5 tent. Been thinking about this for awhile, as the volume of nutes via the
160 gph pump hitting the rocks is weak. I have been looking into alternatives (Marineland pump from aquarium industry), but until I decide...

Yesterday, I swapped positions of the 2 pumps. I now have the 450 gph pump circ the nutes 24/7. This flow increase helps create more splash onto the rocks= more chi, but I want more.

Bud size is running neck and neck

Taking a closer look at the bud size comparison, incredibly, the led buds are fatter, but the 2 clones under the led are a different pheno (expressing some indica?) of the same strain under the hot5

This morning I raised the tote ~ 7" closer to the lights. Also did some more training/bending the few vertical branches

Be interesting to see how quickly the buds respond

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]HELP NEEDED: I apologize for the brief jack, but a friend's mother is getting advanced chemo. Family wants to try R Simpson oil formula.

Do any of you know where to purchase in a legal US state.

I have a friend in California who might make the purchase, though he does not have a card. Any other ideas are appreciated

PM please

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Temps here have been < 70* F for a couple weeks, meaning growth slows considerably.

hot5 top buds finally caught up to led buds

Pics taken this morning

First 3 are from hot5 with High Performance Rez, now improved by adding 2 air stones (one under each pump)- talk about DO

LED (pic 4 and 5) dwc bubbler has a large crystal + 4 large oxy stones

!!!!!! looking REALLY good. im kinda faded right now but what size pots do you use? AND, most importantly, what is your power bill looking like??? i had a 600w but for a closet space it was not worth the heat and energy for 2-3 flowering plants.

Have you grown with LED before? how do you like it? Im saving for a LED system/soil to save on money and still get good results

Thanks.

Since adding the 2 ufos power bill as increased ~ $25/mo

Been playing with leds for ~ 4 years, mostly, using A19 household mixed with 4 ft tubes- not enough lumens.

Although people grow with R/B only to max the PAR peaks, I find that method lacking in overall spectrums, which plants need too. When given a full spectrum they can take what they need, but when given PAR peaks only, they could develop deficiencies over time

Indispensable Light Meter

Indispensable Light Meter

Tent temps mid 80s

Think you've got it all dialed in?

Do you have a spectral and lumen output meter to routinely test older bulbs?

That ability would go a long way to maxing yield for each grow

I have heard hand held meters start at ~ $500

Certainly worth it for larger growers
