I'm still chasing old-school blueberry flavors. I've grown lots of DJ Short's and Chimera's stuff and gotten close... but not quite to the stuff that was around in the early 90s, mostly at Dead shows.

As for apple, Mandala's Mandala #1 cured to a dehydrated apple smell. Sortof offputting, and also kindof caramel-delicious.

Pine terpines are pretty easy to find, in my experience, but yes lemon tends to go along for the ride.

I would personally love to discover something like lilac or hyacinth along with a deep, loamy base.

On the topic of piney flavors; by far the most intense and straight up pine flavored smoke I ever had was something called Ozark Pine that used to come around from time to time back in the 90's. Anyone have any info on this one? It might've just been a local strain. Man o man do I yearn for some of that old time piney sticky goodness.

Pine for me as well...

In the early-mid 90's we used to get what we referred to as "Christmas bud" in Detroit. It had an amazing super piney sweet taste.

a hot fudge/toffee smell/taste would be lovely. or cinnamon apple. rhubarb and custard would be good too.

Bacon!

My buddy grew some bagseed a few years ago that was close. It was a mix between a Christmas ham and fatty bacon. It had great flavor, and an excellent head in the clouds ponder the meaning of life type of high.

This year i got some clones from a guy that were supposed to be berry white. Any way long story short, at the end the had a very pine smell. Dont know what it was but chopped them at the end of october.

anyway what im looking for is that banana smell. Looking for it for years

Back in the 80's my brother used to hang with the local 81. He would give me some of the best herbs. One time he brought home some he said was from the Hawaiian islands. Big green buds with long red threadlike hairs. It tasted/smelled like the blonde Lebanese hash that went around for a bit. The buzz was happy happy happy! I haven't been able to find anything like it since.

@siftedunity: I've heard rumors that the strain Love Potion#2 was specifically bred for high levels of limonene but I have little to no info on her and haven't seen any reports pertaining to Love Potion#2 or if it has a prolific pungent pinesol tang that lingers..

@Lazuli: Sounds exactly like this really nice Dj Short's Blueberry mom my mentor passed down..the man's favorite strain, before we met I used to doubt blueberry based on the weight of grow reports and the dozens and dozens of people who have popped many of beans to not be successful in their search for a winner, but when I tasted blueberry muffins from this cannabis...I knew this cut wasn't BS. Some you just gotta search hard for a keeper...good luck with your endeavors I'd be stoked to hear about your findings!

Really wanting something that's a lot like the smell of creamy sugar cane mixed with spicy hawaiian red dirt notes that combined together as one tangy mellow cooling flavor (reminiscent of how menthol is and feels but how I describe in taste).. had a {Pineapple Express X White Widow} that tasted like what I described though heavenly and not bland like how people describe musky straw or hay tasting cannabis, and potency to boot! Along with being a decent yielder, more so moderate yield but great flower structure with flawless density 2nd to Northern Lights#5 IMO, is really really stout in structure; shortest plant I have seen besides my Sour Bubble stud I'm geeking out over. I'm sad I lost her but I'm able to get her back, though this time hopefully soon for pollination rounds!

choom,

your description of that pineapple express x white widow is right up my alley, did you make that cross yourself? only come across the cooling effect once in a pheno of polyhybrid, no further luck with those seeds. are you getting a cut back or popping more seeds? anyway i'd like hear how it goes.

@non: Thank you for the reply and interest in this strain, I didn't create it though it's exclusive in our circle and the creator has lost original stock. It came from my mentors previous pupil who has gone on to do many things in the industry, from him my mentor was given three seeds, from those two females and a dud. I was pretty pissed off I didn't get a male because at the time and still to this day their structures blew my mind; the two phenos are very similar but I'd call the shorter one the official Pineapple Widow pheno.

The differences of the phenos are few but mostly in function, being they taste so much the same with the taller pheno being stonier and more of the sugarcane backing to it's terpene profile while the squattier pheno has a sloppy earthy diesel kiss that I related with hawaiian red dirt notes, and the same stone with an added sativa lift that's subtle compared to the other pheno, but pulls you under fast if indulged in which the flavor invites you to do, some of the most 'narcotic' stones I've felt in a unique and nondull way, though it was mainly the flavor and structure that irked me as a botanist.

I'm able to get cuttings of her though and plan to soon for pollination
