Will 2014 be the END of the KUSH CRAZE

Let me say this first,,,

I am not starting this thread to get flammed or spammed or to piss anyone off.

I am simply asking if the general smoking public is getting sick of smoking Kush all the time, or its counterparts...I have been on this board for a long time and have seen lots of strains and breeders "hyped"...but i am still amazed that..Kush..i use that term VERY LOOSELY...because what the fuck is a Kush these days...everything LOL

OG, Bubba, Tahoe, even one of fav..Chemdog is kushy

So my question to you all

Will we be seeing a more diverse gene pool being grown out...or has things already hit a tipping point and has everything been crossed with some sort of OG, Bubba, GS cookies,

I hope so...i look at some breeders and they are doing a great job of keeping things diverse...Jamaican genetics, African genetics, Mexican landrace genetics....(i know GS cookies has Durban)my guess that's what makes it so special..I have yet to smoke it..

But then i look at others and its all the same shit....

So do you think 2014 will be different or sort of the same?

I see no end in near sight, to the Kush/related Craze.

Although myself, I'm looking to add a sativa from Ace, this year!

As you said, everything is being called /kush these days. Many of them are not and technically what is? Just because it is Indica dom does not mean Kush and until DNA testing pinpoints the Kush Mountain range as the origin of a strain they are most likely not IMO.
Is it no coincidence that just after the Vietnam war sativas and thai were very common in the US (as well as China white)and now that we are in the middle east Afgani's are (and black tar)?

With the amount of OG's I see at dispensaries, I doubt it.

The strongest and best smokes I've had this year were Fire OG, WiFi, and Girlscout Cookies.

I don't think it's so much the "benefit" as it is the preference.
I'm way down in Florida and just sent a batch of pre98 Bubba Kush up to Oregon. I think you're gonna see even more Kush varieties for 2014

Well...hehe...last weekend I was blessed with some Bubba x Caribe and some Haze/Jamaican x Peyote (aka HJP aka Hijaputa... lmao)...so I highly doubt it´s the end of the Kush craze...I´ve been working with kush types and hybrids for the last ten years :)

Edit:

ElRubio´s Sensi´s Hindu Kush 97 x Masibindi (Zamal x Warlock iirc) :)

It's time to quit complaining and start making the strains you want. That's what Im doing this year, I've gotten bored with what's been being done so I bought up a bunch of strains and now will spend the year making new stuff I find interesting.

People cannot like what they haven't been exposed to, if you expose them to new things they might just like them more.

i think it's here to say (for a decade at least) but at the same time i hope there would be more marketshare for the dj short&organic boutique sativa type of stuff. interesting to wait and see what new hip cuts will emerge.

Lots smokers aren't that knowledgable about the different strains etc
A lot of what gets sold many people including the dealers have little idea what strain it is. People go for the smell and the indica couch lock type effects

I doubt this era is going to change any time soon but who knows with this massive change in protocol and acceptance from the government/ police

Thus is truely and exciting time for our generation. Some movement in the way people think and the entire marijuana indistryv

I doubt the kush craze is over, seems like it's gaining more and more momentum every day. I've seen several of the old-school Euro breeders in trade show interviews stating they are workin the cali og's into their programs for this year and beyond, openly exclaiming that california o.g. kush is some of the finest herbs on the planet. To me it's not so much a craze or a hype-fest as much as it's just some extremely pungent and potent flowers that a great many people really really enjoy. For every person who dislikes o.g. kush you'll find ten thousand people who love it. The quality of the herb is what gains the market share, no way hype gets it to where it is.

oh yeah really exticing times ahead.

it's true that many people don't care about strains and expect only certain kind of effect or don't know about the possibilities.

I did not know asking a question meant complaining...I was simply asking a question and prefaced my post the way I did, to weed out the mean and unnecessary comments but

let them fly,,i can take it

Well since this is your 50th thread about your despise of the " kush craze" I took it as complaining.

If you grow, just grow what ever you want. I don't see why other peoples craze for strains would bother you so much plenty of variety available out there.
