SSH x SSSDH THE SEARCH FOR A SUPER HAZE

Well here's some shots of the ones I took yesterday. Most of them didn't come out the way I wanted, but they are good enough. In some of the pics the parts I wanted to be in focus aren't but the backround and other nugs are in focus, lol.

Picked that last tester on Tuesday. It was a day over 12 weeks of flowering. Ended up making one of the biggest top cola's of the six testers. Really happy about how it turned out. I will post some dry nugs shots when I chop it off the sticks and jar it up.
Yeah the smells are really similar on most of them. There are a couple that have a little different smell. I have never had the chance to grow the legit sour diesel cut, or a legit ssh. The only ssh I have grown is from dinafem, and it's way different than these testers I have. Had a ssh from greenhouse that was sickly from the day the seed popped, so I canned it. I have done a run of some reg sssdh x's that came from my room. So I can definitely tell in the smell of a couple of the testers that the sssdh is shining thru. I have clones I made into mothers of my #5 and #6 seeds. I also have one of the #2 seed, but the root aphids were fuckin' it up pretty bad. I'm gonna put the 3" cube it's in, in some dirt later today to see if I can get it to take off. It usually works for me, so I have my fingers crossed.

Here's the best I can do for now. Camera I have isn't the best, but you get the point........ Numbers 3,5,6 are my favorites. #5 has a mother plant that went into a 7 gal. grow bag about a week ago.#6 has a mother in a 3/4 gal. pot waiting for room to open in the mother room so she can go into a 7 gal. grow bag as well.
The smells coming from them is unreal. When I had the nugs out for the shots it made the whole end of my house reek. #3 and #1 smell different than the rest. It's hard for me to pin down what smells I'm getting as I have never grown the sssdh, and the ssh I tried before was sickly and didn't make it. I have ran a few x's with the sssdh being the father. I can smell the same smells from that batch in some of these. To me that's the sssdh shining thru. Plants #1, #2, #4, #5,#6 were all taken at 11 weeks. #3 went for 12 weeks and 1 day. They all have a kinda candied green apple aroma coming from them. At least to me that's what it smells like.
Next round for the #5 and #6 girls they will be in an ebb and flow table with co2, under 2k of hps with mixed spectrum t5's for side lighting!! I can't wait to have a table full of these bitches!!!!!!

cont..... Oh I almost forgot... I got 144g or somewhere in the 140's from all six of them. Yeah I'm pretty sure it was 144, it's been a minute since I weighed them but I do remember it averaged out to just under a zip per plant. Super happy with these tester's. Couldn't ask for more with only some big cfl's , a couple t5's and a cheapo led from ebay. Thanks again ojd!!!!!! I will be growing this strain for a long time.
On a side note, only one plant had a single male flower and it was the #4 plant, which the clone of didn't make it. That flower was ripped off, a little too late I thought. But so far I have only found one seed, and I'm pretty sure that's all I'm gonna find.
This little test run has inspired me to do a seed grow of a delta-9 sativa mix pack I have, well after I make about 1000 fem auto's for the spring/early summer.
On a side note, only one plant had a single male flower and it was the #4 plant, which the clone of didn't make it. That flower was ripped off, a little too late I thought. But so far I have only found one seed, and I'm pretty sure that's all I'm gonna find.

Ha! My #4 plant also was the only hermy - besides the insane #2 plant which got culled instantly at week 2. But yeah just one tiny nanner scare - but it did some damage

Since Reverse was removed from the market in US, I have moved to using Florel Brand to control Fems throwing male flowers. It's the same ingredient, ethaphon, and is way cheaper. Spray before the flip, and it's 100% female.
Ethaphon converts to ethylene, which is the hormone that stops male flower production. It's used on food crops extensively, so the toxicity risk is nil.
I didn't use it on my test grow of SSSDH s1 and SSHx this round, I got a few early male flowers, but nothing too bad, a few seeds here and there. My next run with the Fems I tested will get a Florel treatment just to see if that knocks out the early males.
I am starting to think every crop gets a treatment from now on since you need so little per room. 1-2 treatments and that's it.
Anyways, just thought I throw that info out there to share.....

Do you use a wetting agent like Dutch Master would require?
Awesome information - but is there sceince behind ethylenes effect on cannabis - since its the natural ripening hormone for fruits - I am curious it could effect mature plants that are in the room as well - since I have a perpetual and its not the spraying part - its the gas that ethylene is - and how that works around buds - supah curious - shit maybe the girls are already SUPER ethylened out naturally.

Yeah, I use Coco Wet. You also have to add PH up to adjust it to 4.5, the product itself is acidic.
My gut says that since it's a liquid and is absorbed into the tissue , the "gassing off" will be a fraction of the total amount, so the amount of ethylene available to the non sprayed plants is low. Plus, since most rooms have active exhaust of some kind, the exposure to the non sprayed plants is also during a short period. That combined with only needing to spray 1-2 times I think drives any risk to a low probability.
But that's just my hunch. Florel is the least concentrated product out there, other come as 5x as much. My understanding is low doses before plants flower inhibits fruit production (cannabis effect is no male flowers) and high doses drive defoliation, which is desirable in crops at harvest for large grain and fruit producers....
Anyways, there is a great thread on this here, https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=275822. They mention Florel to be used on ornamentals only, but since I only use it prior to flipping, I don't think it's an issue. I also think it's cheaper to sell if you don't have to have it labeled as safe for food crop.
Reverse got yanked for the usual "they did not want to pay for the testing to assure safety" reason we are seeing all over ie bushmaster.
Just my 2 cents though... I claim ignorance a lot as well.

I haven't tried that one, I heard it was good. I think it has the same active ingredient ethaphon, seems to be the core PGR. I learned about ethylene and cannabis from a old timer in the hills.....
Thank you for letting me test them. I have two mothers that I kept so I can run this strain for a long long time. I also did an order with the mug shop and got 2 more beans on back-up for when I move to another spot and start from stratch. They all pretty much cured up to smell the same, just better then when they were freshly chopped. The Haze flavor does shine thru in these bitches for sure, at the moment it's my favorite smoke.
I ran butane thru the trim and the return was awesome, the taste is divine. I love smoking the wax on the buds, it can't be beat. I also sent cut's to a grobro that's 6 hrs away from where I live, so the wealth of killer nugs can be shared. I sent cut's from the frostiest plant of the grow. Next week I will be taking cuts to run in my set-up, and I'm hoping they finish a week faster in an ebb and flow set-up w/co2. Thanks again and I will test anything you want in the future.......almost forgot, I have a strawberry dogshit male that I just used to make Strawberry Dogshit f2's and he dusted a Kosher Kush, and an Acid from Paradise Seeds. The males structure is super branchy and stout. So I'm hoping for some nice pheno's, especially with the kosher.
