140 gallon RDWC

SPG*

Some real true words spoken by you too BW1 and Snype!
I started growing in Winter 1999 and for 2 years I grew using soil-Perlite/Vermiculite and would of used Worm castings and bat guano IF available then but in 1999 I didn't have access to them :-( Soon compensated tho by my moving to a small NFT system which was a growing method I'd heard gr8 things about. Speed of Growth was Jaw dropping in Comparrison!-must say.Yield improved Greatly too! (Very happy I was with this :D) THEN a few yrs ago (at the most) I moved to (r)DWC.Tbh I don't see much difference in speed (like I did) but Stastistics say Different.
A review of Methods I watched Conclude DWC is the way to go!

Well if you buy a cement mixer the mixing of soil isnt bad or buy premix it seems to do the trick for me

Wouldn't that be nice. Someday when I own property and have ample space I would love to own such device, it would really take the work out of mixing your own soil.

Premix is compromise, kind of like buying pre made lasagna over making your own....at least that's how I look at it. Does it work? Yea sure, could it have been a ton better? Absolutely.

yeah but adding more meat and cheese to said lasagna to make it better takes alot of work out and still ramps up the taste. some homemade lasagna is shittier than 60min oven made lol Essentially what im saying is that those lasagna makers only make that just like premix coco wouldnt they want their product to be the best for what its for... its kinda their jobs

Well I am a real asshole. So I got all liquored up last night, and when I got back I decided I wanted to go stare at my girls like a dirty'ol pervert.

Turns out in my drunken stupor I must have bumped into my tetra fish filter and knocked free of its stand I made for it. Not a lot but just a little so it started leaking just a little bit. Well that little bit over the course of 12-15 hours turns into a lot of bit.

I checked on shit today and my entire basement floor had water on the floor all leading to the drain...the real shitty part is I have my reserv hooked up too a RO/DI filter on a float valve, so there is pretty much a endless supply of water.

need less to say my system got a real good flush....lol. Plants didnt seem to mind at all. The system didnt empty, just got flushed with probably a few 100 gallons of some super pure water.

Lesson learned.....Im a real asshole when I am drunk

Ya man I totally agree, and to each their own.

Here is the thing that I just do understand.......I dont know why I cant get the thought of lasagna outta my head.

So has anyone had a strain more susceptible to PM then others?
My white widow x big bud keeps showing up with little spots here and there while everything else shows nothing.

I am keeping it is check with sodium bicarbonate but it just breaks my heart. I may have to pull that strain but it is supposed to yield real heavy. I guess I will have to see what happens.

Bennyweed1 -

I've had the same problem before with an ATF cut I received, had to keep up with the pm on it while a Purple Jack Herer was unaffected sitting right next to it. Try GreenCure(potassium bicarbonate) or do a search for Horsetail Tea to treat PM - People are seeing some positive results.

True that, my ww x bb is even rubbing against other plants and they don't have any pm on them.

I have never used a sulfur burner, perhaps I should look in using one.

Plants are looking great. I hope they continue to fill out.

These roots are over 2.5' long. Its to bad the maxibloom gives them that pink hue but it seems only the older roots soak up that color.

Plants do look nice and healthy Bennyweed.
How come you dont use a 6" h.o inline fan with 6" ducting for your cooltube?
Would it get to cold in there?
Could you put 2 plants in each tote? You could double your yield every grow and less veg time, no?
Maybe quadruple your yields if you got a dif screen, put it in front of the plants, and do a vert ScrOG.
Filling every square before the flip?

Dang man, you killed it with the questions.

The cool tube doesn't need any ducting right mow, so you were right, it would get to cold.

I could do two plants but things would get way to congested. This being a new style of growing for me, I'm still not yet where I want my plants to be in size. I anticipate trees but first have to grow them In veg which takes me a while to get there.

The screens I have now are intended to be a scrog and they are I front of the plants. I want every inch to be filled but that will take me some time.

Good set of Qs man.

prevention should start from the time the grow room fans are turned on,that is with ofcourse the USE OF HEPA air filters that kill bacteria and mold spores in the air..IF you cant afford heap filters or decide not to use them as I do,then using BIOLOGICALS and SULFUR burners in conjuction will do the trick!

start in the early veg stages by doing one sulfur burn every 2 weeks...inbetween that time using EM sprays-lactus bacillus for your walls and floors and leaf surfaces but never spray as you've sulfur burned atleast wait 3 days or so as you can damage your leaves..if you keep this up ,I bet ya the pests wont wanna stay around!:) I did notice that old wooden box cabinet in one of your pics, used as a table or sumin,...that could BE THE CAUSE of the mildew spores breaking out no WOOD in the grow room ,unless treated.,its ALIVE to!!

nice work you doing keep it up!

Thanks for all that advice man! Good shit. Your right about the table. I need to get a plastic table. There are a lot of things that could be improved in there but I am really limited too what I can do. Like the cinder block walls totally need to be sealed and re finshed but I cant do that. That place is ridden with mold spores now that I think of it. lol.

I do gotta fix the shit I can...like getting a new table! Thanks again man

edit....better yet, Ill just hang the damn thing up! hahaha why didnt I do that in the first place?!

Plants are looking great and still stretching. During my last reserv. change I decided to cut the over all volume of water by nearly half. I now have it filled with 75 gallons oppose to 140 and since doing so the plants have responded positively and growth increased.

and it turns out my first three plants were not a total bust after all. Once I started making all these fine tune adjustments, they too, have been improving.

Yield is still going to be low but at least I wont be walking away empty handed.

I am really starting to feel like Im finally finding that sweet spot....plant utopia.

Now I just have to tweak my veg side. I was going for the holidays and before I left I mixed in some root roids into the veg reserv. When I came home a clear slime was coating the roots in 2/4 of the buckets. Growth was pretty stunted. I cycled the system for about an hour with a strong bleach ratio. Then scrubbed with soap and water.

All the roots are finally starting to get that strong white web appearance back.

And here is some of my first harvested critical sensi star. This stuff looks killer, I can not wait to see what the two plants I have in rdwc are going to yield. This plant was in a 6"x6" square pot with soil and yield 104g weight.

I been kicking this idea around. Ozone in the h20 to fend off diseases. Does anyone have any experience doing this?

I know ample o2 is key but why not one more preventive measure? Would it have an adverse reaction with pH?

damn I just spent the last 3 hours learning about VPD. Vapor pressure deficit. I now know why both plants in veg and bloom failed to stretch.

Back to the drawing boards. My RH in veg is 35-40% and bloom is no better.....thank you winter! No wonder shit has been slow. FUCK.

The only thing I for see being a pain in the ass is having to monitor the water level in a humidifier. Brain storming an auto top off method.

DHF and his infinite wisdom.

VPD is my last milestone to concur.
