That will be a great box 5th! Sorta reminds me of one I designed a while back but never built. I was going to build cavity walls between the mother/clone and flower chambers and at intakes one each side for a light baffle. It was designed to use a air cooled hood, tray filter and fart fan.
Very nice touchofgrey. About the only thing I'm doing different is the way I'm pulling from the veg on the left to where the flowering on the right is.
Intake is set up the same on the veg side, but instead of crossing over to the flowering chamber through the partition...I'm gonna run PVC pipe under the cab to the hollow sides.

Hollow walls at the side panels, that's pretty fucking cool alright. It looks like there is just a 3/4" space and that will be somewhat restrictive to airflow = increase in static pressure. Might not be too big an issue unless you need to move alot of air. How much lighting are you planning?
In all my 2 chamber cabinets I only figured half or less of the flower air would come through the veg chamber. The rest I bring in through additional passive intake in the flower chamber. I put 2x the exhaust dia as a passive intake in the veg chamber, then that area again (2x exhaust dia) as transfer to flower with another 1x exhaust dia intake in the flower. That will give added cooling to the flower chamber.
With your hollow side panels you could put a toe kick on the front and cut out the inside panel below the floor to open up the cavity. Then just drill holes in the inside and you have a passive intake.

I like the toe kick idea for sure.
As far as lighting I don't have a clue yet as far as actual wattage. The room its going in has an ambient temp. of about -10C. So I'll fill 'er with lights...then add supplemental heating to the room its in.
All I'm worried about now is light and smell. After the holidays I can make any building adjustments I need to.

In a few days we either kick it into high gear...or I have to start some more seeds...
The cab has the fish tank set up and running on top of it...the family likes it as I've received a few compliments on it...
However it isn't what I consider stealthy 'enuff to be running with plants in it. And I'm lazy...not stupid. I will be scrutinizing the fuck out of this cab...
...so in the meantime...my seedlings/small plants are in my unheated shed, in my backyard, in a rubbermaid, with some light bulbs. Let me mention its -15C out there...had to use regular light bulbs instead of CFL's because I needed the extra heat lol.
Their also on a heating pad...but it shuts off after every two hours....so I tell the fam I'm "heading out for a ciggy" and start it back up again.
They are actually growing quite well in the rubbermaid...even though I wasn't looking for growth...just for them to survive...
I'll keep everyone posted when I have the time.

Hey, Guys...here is a look at my cab that's similar to what Touchofgray described. Two double walls between the veg and flower chambers to create a drying chamber. You can see its dead dark in there. Does slow down the airflow considerably but only a problem in the summer.

first off i would like to say, that i too look at everyday storage areas more in depth than most. sometimes even get caught sticking my head in cupboards to see depth

now for my 2 cents constructive i hope.
beat the bottom out of that cab with a hammer chances are there only attached by very fine nails. then use one part of it and cut off 2 sections to go across the bottom remove the mid section and use it as a base. thats what i would do and i am doing with my cab adds more space looks more clean although saying that a 2 compartment grow area could be good for side by sides

my bad didnt read second page!>.<!. okay im guna only stick with the bottoming as it adds more space and you seem very handy so im sure painting wood beach effect would be easy mode.

Ok...smoke a bowl in the kitchen so you don't bring your pipe into the cloning area...knock it over n' get ashes all over the fucking place.
Now that you didn't listen to me...get some paper towel n' clean that up.
Then get a marker, something to stick clones in, the oldest, dullest, rustiest pair of clippers you can find.
Beer n' smokes are optional...unless you enjoy beer n' smokes....then fuckn' giver'

'bout the only way I get a piece of ass nowadays is if someone dies and leaves it to me in their will.
Furnace calved out on me last night...not that the plants care...their used to freezing their roots off. I'm in my snowboard jacket typing this though...
Plus side is it's only -25C out, 9C in the living room, n' 25C under the 600w.
Need to get a HVAC guy over here to order a new primary or some fucking thing tomorrow so it's lit a fire under my ass...(hilarious) to get the cab done.

You can see the magnetic baby locks installed...which is why I can't show you much more... I locked the fucking key inside.
Heres some other shit though...
I took the carbon scrubber on the left and turned it into this...
Hands were shaky from all the sawing of metal...so my thumb looks like I smashed the fuck out of it with a hammer...I'll use the tripod for pics from now on lol.
Gonna test hanging the bulbs differently...I can pack alot more of them in if I hang them (like on the left of the pic) but finding these parts, sockets, I've salvaged is proving difficult.
Gonna try n' get another set of tot locks tomorrow so I can retrieve my key....what a fuck up...
