I'm tapering off the N on all plants in soil; using primarily guano on the organic side and koolbloom powder on the plants-from-seed side. Still giving floralicious plus and maxi crop for seaweed, and silica (pro-tekt); and cal-mag as needed.

Especially the organic soil side is yellowing out as i near flush, honestly just a week or so earlier that I would like, but the buds still seem to be putting on weight and nearly all pistils are still lush and white... I'm beginning to gradually thin fan leaves in preparation for flush and harvest.
The from-seed soil table is not yellowing nearly as much as the soil side, but it is still showing plenty of color. The Flo OG's are showing some BEAUTIFUL magentas and burgundy/lavendar/mauve colors on undersides of leaves; some dark purple tops and even a lil purple on some calyxes as well (all VERY Flo-y traits, ime). Some Deadhead OG f2's are showing bright orange hairs as they reach (early) maturity. Also I'm slowly pulling fan leaves day by day off the from-seed plants, especially lower down fan leaves... tossing them all aside to dry; ultimately they will be used to make a topical extract.

Botanicare pure blend pro and additives in the bucket system... will start flushing soon over there.

The Deadhead og is not as sour earthy ogk as I was hoping for/ wanting, perhaps because it's the f2 gen showing... less desireable attributes? not sure on that, or maybe it's just the pheno's I got. I' know I've had very rich earthy and slighty limey deadhead og before (actually also smoked a good amount of "double deadhead" a pinkhouse deadhead ogf2 several years back when rd grew for them). Many of my deadhead og's are "finishing" via nanner popping at "maturity";

however,

the RD Flo OG's look to be still packing on weight. One Flo OG pheno being VERY thick and yield-y, that one smells kinda like sweet and sour cabbage or something.... not the choicest smell of the bunch; considering that one Flo OG is SUPER dank ogk sour smelling, reminds me of the rd1 or triangle kush. Another Flo OG has a very sweet flo-y-ish smell, not quite as dense or "rotten fruity" as Flo, but maintaining a pretty floral aroma.

Loud 7/8 is turning out surprisingly good, thick sponge-y buds, one pheno very sour/fuel, the other more a sweet and bitter combo.

Lots of Flo and my Flo x Grimm keeper pheno... the pink strawberry ice cream pheno on the organic side, very very fruity over there, and some nice thick buds also, thicker than usual actually on the "pink"s while still giving that sweet artificial berry smell. The Flo's are smelling pretty earthy/rotten fruit, not as sweet fruit as in past runs, more earthy and "dank" smelling, almost kush-y.

how are the loud 7/8 doing? mr.loud gifted me probably 60-70 of em yesterday and im really interested in how they look.

IJ: they are absolutely kicking ass... not as large of buds as on the higher yeilding flo og... but DEF a SOUR SOUR... some nice variation among the pheno types, altho all of them seem to be pretty sour. nugs are dense but spongey not hard. also their structure is nice and branchy, not one to make a single stalk at all, especially when topped they branched out nicely and created even canopy of buds.

I'll be grabbing some individual plant shots soon.

^bay 11
very piney sour, nice dense nugs, lots of stacked calyxes

^^ close up of those stacked up calyxes on the bay 11

^^LOUD 7/8 sour
Look at all them branches! nice structure on these ladies, much more branchy than the flo og or deadhead or bay 11, best structure in a strain of all the seeds i cracked so far... most likely to tend to branch out.

picture.php

^^^
Better shot of the tops of one of the LOUD 7/8 Sours, all stinky sour buds on each pheno, slightly different flavors but all are "SOUR", not bad on the stretch either.

picture.php

^^This is the most colorful and highest yielding Flo OG, unfortunately it's the spicey sour cabbage flo smelling one.... not sweet, not floral, not a whole lot of OG stank to it... but damn it's pretty and chunky too..... ALL the Flo OGs stretched pretty hard, more than anything else in the room.

^^ Flo OG kinda closeup

Funny how the RD Flo OG were the slowest to take off in veg... but stretched like mad then ended up to be some of the better plants in the room, one very high yielding and colorful pheno (spicey cabbage flo), one super OG kush sour smelling, and one nice fruity sweet pheno. But the deadhead ogK f2s were the first out the gate in veg, looked very promising, yet turned out to be pretty unstable upon maturity... nearly every pheno of deadhead og f2 has tossed nanners by now...
Sadly no Blue ox made it thru; but I'm gad that the one bay 11 female made it thru.. it's pretty impressive smelling, very piney sour ogk, glad that I chucked pollen from a Male Bay11 onto: Flo, Flo x grimm, and 2 different pheno's of Blue Heron. Not super stoaked that I used a Deadhead ogk f2 to dust: flo, flo x grimm, blue heron and chunky Diesel. In hindsight I should have chosen a male of the RD flo og, keeping with my current breeding trend of using DJ shorts Flo and dominant traits from the flo (floral smell & flavor, hopefully high yields) in my crosses.
blu ox has some dj short blue moonshine in it's lineage... should have used a blue ox male instead of the deadhead....

:dunno:

Ultimately tho, as far as plants from seeds are concerned... the Flo OGs and the LOUD 7/8 Sour are the winners in the room, bay11 kinda second place-y and Dhead a distant 3rd.

Avi-
Very nice looking! Hmm, now you have me interested in the loud 7/8 as well as the new rd gear, as I do have a friend battling breast cancer asking me to find r2.

I spent all of last night popping seeds, now I must go and take a bunch of cuts off the revegging watermelon hashplant x ak-47 #3, of which of course, you may have as many as you want. :) It is the super special pheno, much nicer than the pheno of the buds we smoked. Happy dance!

P.S. I just finished making another batch of torrone this am... thought you'd like to know.

Nice looking plants.
:thank you: :thanks:

Also, I have sexed and transplanted into 1gal pots the stagger Lee strain (sweet tooth #4 ibl x casey jones), drizella bxs (i made), des*tar bx (dynasty seeds), and the ras richie jamaican (one male, one female, haven't killed the male yet.... maybe gonna keep this jamaican around in seed form, cross it against some flo & flo x grimm perhaps; bx's perhaps).

here's a shot in veg:
picture.php

Gotta say im digging this ceramic metal halide, phillips new 315w agro bulb; proprietary ballast made by a local company.... I'll probably start a new thread about the CMH bulb/technology.
For now I'll just say that the plants in veg underneath the cmh are super healthy and lush.... much much more sturdy and upright, thicker stems and all than the plants vegging under T5's. I really need/want to compare it's results (veg & bloom) vs. HPS.

NICE!
im definitely down to try out the watermelon hashplant AK cross.... whenevs them lil ones gots roots....

:blowbubbles:
I'm waiting for another round of harlequin clones to take root over here... plus some flo.... any minute now roots gonna pop out them cubes. Next up; I gotta take clones from the newly sexed plants from seed (stag. lee. destar, drizbx, jamaican).

:thank you:

what's this r2 your looking for? are you talking the R4 from greenwerkz, like all cbd and no thc hardly that won the cup last year? I met a guy on reddit who has it veggin up right now... he reported VERY VERY low germination rates, and says the strain is a son of a bitch to grow, he said the growers at greenwerkz said it is a very difficult plant to grow..... he's offered me a clone when it's ready... I said I'll take for the cbd, but probably only to self it onto the harlequin....

holy shit, the leaf:calyx ratio on that loud 7/8 sour is insane! doesn't seem like you have a
lot of support in there either, i guess they hold their own weight well? after seeing this, I'm
definitely gonna have to pop some of those beans homie gave me! he told me that out of the
number of seeds i got, there will probably be 2-3 absolutely KILLER phenos, but the rest
would still make the cut.

Ya, like most kickass sours I've grown its got great leaf to calyx ratio... gonna be super easy to trim... I removed a couple of stakes to take pics, cant remember which ones tho... but ya there is support in the room, they did stretch a good amount; not as much as the flo og's, but they do get a lil top heavy and stretch.
Also,
in veg and during stretch I like to use little lst type techniques to make branches more sturdy, less likely to bend over under weight of the bud. Basically just like supercropping where you twist the stem, just don't bend it over, just twist till it pops and you feel the rigid cell tissue of the plant break, do that up and down the main stems, keeps most strains pretty upright.
Haven't been doing this much lately, because the flo is pretty sturdy and same with the keeper pheno's from flo crosses, and that's what i've primarily been growing for... a while. :blowbubbles:
But with the new strains, especially these stretchy ogk's.... gotta remember to do that in veg and stretch

I'd say if you've got some pheno hunting to do with all them beans IJ, will be hard to pick a keeper, but prolly not hard to find some good flavors!!

spicey sour cabbage pheno of RD Flo OG, showing some amazing colors leading up to harvest, and still putting on weight daily!

^^
Pic of the Flo and Flo x Grimm tray... I can't explain the yellowing.... haven't seen the flo or flo x grimm do this before, being very N and mag hungry.... I'm sure it's got something to do with the organic soil/nutes/teas that i'm using.... have backed off the N, perhaps a bit early. when growing these same strains with salt based nutes (maxi, flora series GH, veg&bloom, H&G) I never see this tendency to go yellow.... in the past these strains turned purple around this time, and they are now doing so, but going yellow FIRST.
Buds still seem to be packing on tho....

The deadhead OG f2's and the Kens Bay 11 are flushing, Flo's and Flo x grimms and Flo x OG and LOUD 7/8ths Sour are all still getting nutrients:
RD Flo OG & LOUD sour are getting koolbloom powder, molasses, silica, floralicious, and a lil bit of maxi bloom still.
Flo & Flo x Grimms are being fed Earth Juice bloom formula plus high P bat guano & EWC tea, plus some floralicious and maxi crop sea kelp.
