What's the genetics behind the nightmare?

Good question - shamefully, I've forgotten by now.

I want to say something like this:

(Jock Horror x Great White Shark) x Sour Diesel

..but I could be wrong. It's a cross made by a member here long back - I've been rocking her for close to 3 years now.

I was blessed with three phonos, and this particular one is what I've been humpin' away with. I know there are some beans floating about, but I'm not sure that there's anything else live right now that's not this particular cut.

Kind of a one-off weirdo oddball thing that I've been happy to consider myself lucky for having, if any of that makes sense. :)

What's up Silver? I've been out for awhile and have to get caught back up. When I left you were expecting, you got a little one yet? Also, you went from vertical to a traditional Scrog? I have some catching up to do. At the threat of thread jacking can you summarize some stuff for me?

Wadap who dat?!

Our little dude is just a smidgen over 4 months! Big heavy - 26.5" and 19 lbs 5 oz at his 4 month checkup. :D

By way of comparison, my friend's son, at his 9 month checkup, was 18 lbs 4 oz.

Had to finally concede to the hot & dry conditions in my vert getup. Gotta say, I couldn't be happier with the revert from castle vert!

Temps at the canopy are currently 74 degrees. :D I was considering tossing in a 1000w (currently 600) since I could get away with the extra heat. Was generously offered a free loaner rig! :thank you:

Instead, laziness prevailed (I mean, seriously - I'd have to move a tent, swap ballasts, unhook the ducting on the hood, swap out the bulbs.. And THEN put everything BACK!).

What I actually would like is one'a them newfangled bigass reflectors. But since it wouldn't exactly be prudent nor responsible to go muckin' replacin' that shit while there's a whole screen o' goodness underneath it, that'll have to wait 'til between this run and the next.

Gosh dang, do I love me some lazy!

Congrats on the wee one! That sucks about the old setup but your new one is looking proper. A proper setup is a proper setup and this one looks like it's rocking accordingly. I definitely have some catching up to do.

Very interesting hood you've got there. What would be the advantage of that instead of going with the traditional horizontal bulb?

My little guy just turned 8 months and is auto 29inches and just a touch over 20lbs. Essentially 50% on all the metrics. Life is good mon

Keep it up

Interesting hood indeed, shit-on-saran-wrap-over-lips. What budman said, :yeahthats about the whatfer's.

My itch for a reflector is borne out of insufficient headspace. My reflector's about as high as it can go (physically). But, ideally, it'd be better if I could get it even higher, so's to increase its footprint.

So now I'm interested in a wide-ass reflector, for the sake of spreadin' that goodness as much as possible, given that I can't hoist the f*cker up as high as would be most practical..

I think Raptor or XXXL is going to be too long to get the ducting on, so I'm leanin' towards one of these:

More consistent footprint reflection would be my guesstimation. I like the sealed/ non-sealed cooling mostly. better arc in bulb when air not blown directly on it. if that's true it kinda shits on the whole vert concept... in my meager opin. i'd take out the glass too personally.

here's their propaganda...

Hey killer, it's always a pleasure to have you my friend! And thanks for the kudos! ;)

Day 39 - close to halfway (usually take 'em to about 85 days of 12/12).

Stretch has just seemed to come to an end, within the past week. The tops seem to be getting more girthy & sooner'n I seem to remember. They're usually more like tall spears 'til day 60-65, when they start to fill out.

I pushed pretty hard w alfalfa for the first 30 days. This variety seems to be a hog for N, especially in early flower. I knew I could go hard with the N early in flower (it's bad news if I don't), but I was also interested in the other benefits of the alfalfa.

I've done a few things differently this time 'round, so it's always hard to put a finger on it, but these plants do seem to be relatively squat this time. Normally, they want to be lanky gangly slobs (nameless says they grow "like a rocketship"). They're usually a little more pointy in overall shape. This time around, I was able to get a sort of "flatter-on-top" shape. Much more level canopy.

I'll get photos up in the next few days. She looks as great as I've ever grown her. ..But, I'm looking forward to growing some other (read: shorter) varieties here next time, I reckon. We'll see.

Glad you were able to pick some up! How are you digging it, beyond initial impressions?

Well I have another one curing atm that was done up much better than the first. I'll let you know in a week or so. This week the plan is to do some serious sampling of the sour bubble plants.

Excellent! Keep us posted on the Nightmare impressions please. :)

Also great stuff in re: the Sour Bubble sampling! I'm keenly interested in those results ;)
