you would be surprised how many little trips you take in your car, over short distances in town it really doesnt take me much longer than a car to cross town...A co-worker of mine is into triathlons and purchased a very expensive Trek, I couldn't believe how much people could spend when it comes to bikes.
Also advised me for $500 I could get a jam up entry level mountain bike @ the local shop.
Don't care for running anymore so I figure why not try the bike thingy as we have lots of hiking trails here.
yes,you can get a good entry level bike for that much, end of the model year sales are a great way to save coin...the most important thing is the bike fits you right,if its not comfortable to ride, you wont ride it...
yes they do,the amount of fine speed control you have is amazing, plus it only takes one or two fingers on the lever to control the bike...and they are certainly powerful enough to flip you ass over teakettle if you grab too much front brake! its all pretty amazing, the hubs are straight laced like motocross wheels, the crank arms are hollow..all the clever assed shit they did to make the derailleurs work with the suspension, even the tubeless tires i think are pretty cool...The cable just activates the plunger in the rez . your rez just happens to be on the caliper which is pretty cool in itself , but probably expensive to replace . front wheel uses the caliper rez & the back wheel uses the rez on the level i'm assuming . pretty much the same as a motorcycle except the front caliper rez in on the brake lever on the handle bars .
Cool ... i like it ! i bet it stops on a dime !!!
