Seed Harvest!?!

ive seen a device that would seperate seed from herb ,
was at the cannabis cup in amsterdam when i was there in 2003 ,
some wooden device like the old mouli/herb grinder ,
but it had a paddle inside ,
ill have to do some research to find it again,
would be a very handy device ..

in the meantime,
after you have crushed , removed most of the green material,
you can use a magazine cover and simply hold on an angle and jiggle ,
the heavy particles ,, ie seed ,, falls off , leaving the green material ...

not exactly rocket surgery , but it works ...

just want to throw out there that the most traditional way to get the seeds out is to beat the plant on the floor. almost all the seeds will fall out if your violent enough.
(even though that has very little to do with Advanced Growing Science)

stainless mesh kitchen strainer.

when completely dry, work flowers through screen, seed remains (with stems).
then it's easy to seperate stem from seed by carding/rolling seed and you can roll the flowers up to smoke. also, there is some finger hash collected from forcing flowers through screen.

...and good call on letting your seed mature by leaving the plant to grow into senescence.

Seperating seed from plant material is the single most time consuming part of the job..

Shows how much time you spend testing and selecting plants..

the same way I did with seeded brickweed. I got a tray and crumble buds . have tray tilted and use a card to move around weed. seeds roll to bottom . repeat repeat. not exactly high tech but effective none the less. I get rid of any leftovers as at that point there is more thc stuck to my hands than left in the weed. if it was all I had I would smoke that shit. I once watched a show where they separated seed from flowers by using some clear tube that had air blowing into it and maybe a vacuum somewhere. I have never been able to find it searching online. if I find it I am buying one I am tired of sticky hands and torn rubber gloves when deseeding buds. I think the tube had air coming in from bottom blowing up . the lighter stuff goes up an gets sucked out leaving seeds at bottom. well that's my guess anyhow

if all you care about is the seeds....


just dry the weed out...i mean till it's bone dry and almost dust. crumble the weed by hand into a tray....


then just blow the weed away...into a bag if you like....or spread out a sheet. all the weed goes on the sheet. the seeds are left.
