Retro and Coconuts,
I almost agree with you that it's "impossible" to overwater in coco, IF everything else is dialed in. If not, any one factor can make it happen. A few years ago I overwatered a few plants. Or that's what they were saying. With improvements to my room and methods, I've decided that I'm going to water this next crop more. I will report back. Good luck. -granger

Using quality, new coco (think Canna), it is impossible to over water plants that have a developed root system. Coco is a hydro medium, and should be treated as such. If you use Hempy buckets, you will get great results, with results benefiting from more frequent waterings, or continuous waterings as with drippers.
Since Hempys have a rez which is always kept full of water, that pretty much says it all. Lack of oxygen is another matter, but when you water frequently, you re-oxygenate. After growing in Hempys with coco, I can't understand why anyone would use another method. Once you try Hempys+coco+ K.I.S.S., you will be convinced. People just can't wrap their minds around the fact that coco is a hydro medium. In traditional hydro or DWC, roots are constantly submerged in water, yet they never look "over watered". That is due to the fresh oxygen supplied by fresh water running through the system. If the coco is re-used multiple times, that is when you can run into "over watering" problems, as the coco has broken down and no longer holding oxygen.
