The Goji Hunt

the red stems are a trait, its one of the parents, not the og one.

Then its the snow lotus' fault, we've heard this a few times on here and other places so I think its safe to say it must be the case.

Hey i love your style FlaCaEnt!
you work really clean without forgettin details...so nice..

Those T5s are just awesome, but i think is time for HIDs now, dont you think the same?

I see healty plants there and i've seen other goji purple on the stems so i think its just ok but maybe just a little cold in the room?

Best luck with your selection i feel lucky to be a spectator here, your project is moving really well

---

Interesting things 30years, a bit more explanation?

Thanks for the kind words brotha! We definitely are moving toward the HIDs ASAP, another room is days away from being completed and will allow us to give them Gojis a nice and strong light once its acclimated and dialed in. The room your currently viewing is where our moms/cuts and pheno hunt is happening. Our other veg room is currently running a 1000w MH and 2 2'x4' t5 mixed spectrum fixtures; once we move some things around on our panel and get some more amps to play w/ the veg area it should be running atleast 2 600w MH and 2 600w HPS OR HOPEFULLY 2 1000w MH and 2 1000w HPS.

As for the coloration on the stems I think we are going to chalk it up to the snow lotus genetics. the day temps are ~77/79F but night temps have been getting a little cold as of recent so this may also have an effect on the proliferation of the purple. Thanks again for the feedback Rula and glad you took the time to stop by n check us out. We're aiming to please.

hi,
not sure where you are from but you can take vegetative samples and have them analyzed to determine potency. i use it on males a lot. i choose what males i like based off of morphology, vigor and odor. if you keep the germ date and then the date you cut the sample you can get a very accurate predicative test. speeds up your selection process.
best,
30y

Thanks 30--definitely something worth checking out a lil more. There are a few labs around our area somewhat and I'm sure with further research services as you mentioned will be available. we have been keeping track of dates since the very beginning so this sounds like a pretty good option.

Hey sorry for the inactivity lately this last week has been nothing but a grind over here and its great to see the hard work paying off. Flower room is up and running waiting for its new tenates, life is good right now. We went over to the soil bed to mix up our 2 week old batch of super soil and what do you know?! First handful I pick up is full of a 3" cake like structure of mycorhizzae layered dirt. Upon further inspection of the soil there were apparent areas where fungi and other bacterias were thriving in colonies producing more hyphae and colonies that were visible. The earthy smell the soil gave off was just heavenly. We are too excited to get this next run going.

Anyways away from the dirt and back on the goji topic.

The Goji males, 10 out of 21 have all been removed and placed into their flowering area where we will wait to collect their pollen. Don't think we are going to take a cut to keep one around probably just store some pollen. If we do end up taking cuts it won't be until mid flower and we will have to re veg them, but this is an unlikely option. We may try to get a canopy pic sometime into flowering but its no more selfies for the males, maybe one of two of the keeper if we end up making it happen.

As for the girls 11 in all they are loving the extra room and just reachingggg for the light. No really, these Gals are absolutely thriving. Fat, Strong stems. Beautiful big fan leaves it is jus a beautiful sight to see. They are going to be transplanted tomorrow into 5 gal air pots into a mixture of 1:1 Promix:Vermifire then vegged for 2 days and flipped into their flowering cycle sunday under 1000w HPS. We will have ( gojis under 1 1000w and the other 2 will share another 1000w with 1 critical jack, 1 heavy duty, 1 burgundy and 1 Afghan kush. We should have some individual pics of the females upon transplant and then will try to do a biweekly pic update of the canopy. 3 cuts will be taken from each pheno to keep around until they have flowered through and we see what we really want to keep.

Hope everybody's week is filled w nothing but the best and the gardens are healthy. Should have some pics up this weekend.

Right now theyy are spread out under 2 1000w HPS bulbs on day 3 of flower. There was maybe a day of transplant shock but everything has picked up for the most part although some were starting to show a little nitrogen deficiency, hopefully its resolved when the lights cut on today as they were hit with a full nute heavy watering 2 days ago . If not were thinking it may just be a nitrogen lockout due to a Mag def, if this is the case they will be hit with an epsom salt foliar over the next week until the issue is fixed.

Anyways hope you guys enjoy the pics, things are getting busy around here so we will try and post when we can but no promises. We should be able to toss up a weekly update.

Thanks for stopping in jaded, and definitely! Just got a pack of bamboo stakes and its already getting used up on some of the room. The Goji stretch was impressive. 7 of the 11 Phenos actually caught up to the height of some of the bluedreams in the room which had a week and a half longer veg under a 1000w MH than the gojis who were kept under the T5s.

The stretch should be coming to an end the next few days and most have just about doubled in size. From what were looking at it seems that phenos: #5 #19 #17 and #21 are the shorter bushier SL dom phenotypes.

All of the plants w the exception of #17 and #2 have been doing extremely well, and even then those two aren't doing anything short of good either. Those two phenos seem to be lite feeders and have had some curl to their fan leaves the last few days, not sure if you can see them in the pics, but we will try and point them out if we can.

The Goji stems are really something to marvel about, we're not 100% sure if its the strain or the fasilitor. Every main stem is thick and full of girth and the auxiliary branches are just a vigorous. Thinking the fasilitor has something to do w/ it because its noticeable in every pheno, really there isn't anything we'd declare as a weak stem on the goji. We will try and get a close up of some stems when the lights come one today.

Below are some canopy pictures, we apologize in advance for the quality, working on getting a legit camera.

Hey fellas things are have been pretty busy over here in the garden and with the chores of everyday life but we cant complain. All the Gojis are on day 28 today and the pictures are from earlier this week or late week three.

Phenos #2 #21 and #17 have been picky eaters and giving us a little trouble but still arent looking bad.

#2 and #21 have a distinct sweet smell in their aromas especially the latter expressing hints of strawberry cream flavored starburst which we are hoping evolves into the strawberry milk pheno.

#5 is the frostiest gal of them all smelling like an undeniably pungent and raunchy OG stench. The next update will include some budshots of her nuggies fashoo.

In the canopy shot the taller phenos in the back are #20 #8 #3,
#7 #11 #13 in front of them
#19 #5 #2
and finally the shorter #17 and #21 up front

How's the hunt going?

I liked the way #13 looked in veg. looks pretty chunky, if she's the far right middle one.

Dang those tall girls are pretty!

going rather well only a few short weeks away form harvest. Sorry about the lack of updates, we were able to take on a few extra projects that have been consuming all of our time.

You called it aqua 13s a freakin beast! right now were looking at keeping 2, 21, 13, and 5 around for another run and then consolidate the keepers from there.

There is another pheno in the back row i believe its number 8 that is the lankey pinesol smelling pheno, contemplating werking w her again as well.

As for pictures we cant really promise anything but wed would love to get you guys some harvest shots before and after in a timely manner. Thanks for everyone who stopped by
