The harvest is in.
Its cold outside time to break out the O'kief tumbler and make some dry sift!

I'm doing this with my seeded plants.

I am de-stemming and breaking up the buds by hand into popcorn size.
Then loading up the 110LPI stainless steel mesh.

I run the tumbler for 10-2 hours.

Getting super nice results!

Yes I press it straight out of the tumbler.
This is Skywalker its amazing, sweet candy smell and smouth smoking.

I put the resin powder in a of turkey bag. Fold it up, place in toaster oven (not to hot not to long). 120-150 for 5 -10 min.
Get out the rolling pin and a nice shiny pressed hash is the result.

Some times I press with no heat, but a little heat helps.

Full melt pressed hash.
I'm loving this more than the BHO at the moment.

I put the powder in a turkey bag heat up an iron on low-med put the turkey bag a few pages down in a magazine and press down with the iron open the mag flip the Pattie over and press again. Stick it in the freezer for a couple mins and the bag will peel right off. How long did you run the tumbler? 10-2 hours or 1-2 mins?

I run the tumbler about 5-30 min.
Then the same material again an for 30-90 min for a second press.
If their is to much plant matter in the second pass I'll tumble the kief for 1-5 min to clean it up.

Its Kief Rchards playing Kief Richards over here some times.

Looks better than good. The Og melt looks supreme, love that shiny look of high grade pressed resin.
Hard to believe that's atrsight from the tumbler with just a 11olpi screen.
Great work Mendo!

Thanks for the props.

my buddy said i should not press the resin powder anymore.

What do you think?
to quote William Shakeskief.
To press or not to press that is the question?

why not try both ways, pressed and powder form. Store your resin powder in glass.

Then try them both and report back.
Wonder if the unpressed resin will taste harsher than the pressed and which has the best effect?
(Did you cure the plants before the resin was made?)

This has been discussed, In my youth and in all my travels i have seen unpressed hash once. I was told that the affies thought it would make you crazy to smoke unpressed powder. In my opinion it is much easier to store and deal with pressed. If you leave it unpressed and put it in your pocket in a baggie it will be pressed when you take it out, if it is any good.

^^LOL, I agree that back in the day all resin was pressed. That was before our modern take on things. Now you can make ice or dry sift, much stronger and purer than the hash that was once around. If your hash is already 30-50% + THC there is little to gain from pressing apart from easier storage.
I'm good either way, as long as I have some.)

EDit, if you travelled to Amsterdam today I guarantee you would see unpressed hash
especially when dealing with conoisseurs/private growers Some coffeeshops still press it though.

I think some of the hash back in the day was/ is as good as anything that you can get or make today. The connoisseurs just kept it. They had thousands of years with the plant before us...
