Skunk kush - help needed

-CSS-

New member
Hi all,

I am new in this forum. Been growing for some years and i've decided to go coco. I am a first timer and I am running into some problems. Need your help guys!

Short on my set up:
Plants from seed (2 skunk kush from Sensi + 2 cheese widow local)
3 weeks old now
18/6 under a 150W compact fluoro
T 20-24*C.
R.h. 50-65%
Watering 5 times a day. 1st run 5 minutes; the others 3 minutes. 10-20% drainage. Recirculating solution. Replacing it every 10 das now.
PH 5.8 to 6.4
EC 1.4 now
10L pots

My problem is than 1 SK doesn't look healthy. Leaves are a little bit too curly. On the older leaves some necrotic spots are appearing, specially on the edges. not really worried right now but I wanna fix it before it gets worst.

See the pics. Appreciate all + inputs.

...i grow in coco hempy's and it looks a bit like over watering to me.

...here's a link to a thread by a guy i'd call an expert on growing in coco, DTW and if you take the time to read it i expect it will answer this question you have now and many you haven't the experience to ask yet.

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=241341A few things that I've learned about growing in coco with a drip systm DTW

...on the plus side, the fact that you have growing experience already should make coco growing as hard as pouring a glass of water.

peace, bozo

low light intensity + big pots + small plants + multiple feedings = disaster

Also recirculating nutrient, replacing every 10 days is not ideal for coco. You seem to want to treat coco like clay balls, its totally different.

Thank you all guys. Good suggestions enlighted the way to go. Gonzo I believe you got it right. The whole system was our of balance.

Reduced watering 2X a day, EC @ 1-1.2. Tomorrow they' ll go under the 400W. Seems new leaves are coming out nicely even if I am not totally satisfied with plant balance. Looks too vigorous to me.

Some updated pics in the week end.

oproti hlíně rychleji prosychá a nezadržuje tolik (%RH Vlhkosti)
kolik rostliny potřebují.
Pokud mohu doporučit zálivku obohatit o více kyslíku a přidat

Hi everybody and thanks again for good inputs.

Some other small problems are popping up, so I'll keep on posting till the end of the cycle, hope this will help other people.

Things have improved quite a bit with the changes (400W, reduce irrigation, reduced EC).
Here's some pics one week/10 days after the previous pics and the changes.
Plants are going better, filling in the space under the 400W.
I am not happy yet about color and health state of the new growing tips. Maybe some heat burns (shifting the 150 CFL to the 400 HPS).
Plants are too veggie, too much big fan leaves.

Bless ya.

Hi all,

and now...going fast forward on time...a couple fresh pics ....5 days into flowering...plants are growing fine for me.
Watering has been raised up to 3-4 times a day, EC around 1.4.

wanted the plants to recover for the first burns...so they vegged too much...and now it's a pain in the ass to bond them, fan leaves finally have gone out :)

blees ya

OK. Now some close up on the genetics.

Skunk Kush is going very on the indica side, fat leather roundy leaves, doesn't look to stretch much so far.

On the left side the Cheese Widow, leaves are more skinny, nice branching, but stretching quite heavily...

Well all in all I am trying to have a homogeneous canopy, let's see how it goes on the next week.

As alaways, please jump in with commments and tips.

Bless ya.

Take your plants out and look at them under a different light. The light you're using can make the plants look off.
