Did you find deathstar to be a bit more airy? I mean, your flower are massive, but when I ran her I didn't get that typical density - had more a sativa type density. I figured I just did a poor job on her (and I know I did, I could have done better) - but curious your take on her. My finished flowers werent near as fat / big around as yours - but looked VERY similar in regards to the flower / calyx structure, etc...

I thought deathstar was one of the skunkiest / roadkill type smells I've gotten out of a plant in a real long time - folks reallllly like her too - she just gets funkier with a cure. I had more compliments on that smoke than most - which really surprised me because I expected complaints about the density, but nope...

Anyway - curious your take / thoughts...great work in those beds though - real impressive!

Seriously though bro, much for this run in the beds. Finally getting your shit dialed in . Though those plants look like they could easily go another week+ for maximum swellage and proper maturity

I didn't know there was more than 1 GG... I know who to ask to find out if I have GG#4 though. My only complaint about GG is that its not my personal preference for flavor.

Death Star is a bit airy. I'm assuming that's the Sour D in her. I have to say though, most of the buds are big and full... But not as dense as say a bubba or gsc. Those nugs are like rocks. DS has a lot of calyxes shooting off in every direction.

DS is very skunky, but not the closest thing to roadkill I've ever smelled. Respect grew some sour plants from seed that stunk way worse! Totally rotten. DS can smell kinda sweet too imo. I'm not very good at describing all the tastes and smells... Being why I don't do smoke reports. They're just so subjective.

People love DS around here... I would rather be growing goat for structure and yield, but when it comes to smoke, I prefer DS. I can't go wrong with either one.

lol I'm still waiting on that grow report with pics of buds eclipsing gallon jugs...

I have reasons for taking them this week and not next week... Goat and Straw DD definitely need more time though. They just keep on spitting out new pistils!

There were two different Gorilla Glue cuts let go - and the #4 was as I understand it the real winner, over the other one. Not sure what number it was.

I'd agree that Deathstar has a subtle sweetness to her - and I've smelt things that had raunchier smells, but it came through very distinct skunk with her, and I liked that about it.

Anyway...thanks for your take on it - makes me wonder if I did a better job with her than I realized.

When I run the deathstar I get this too. It is still a full solid bud just a little lighter than expected. Still get a great yield just a little lighter than expected for density.

The smell is over powering if dried right. Definately not something you want to drive around with in a plastic ziplock and get pulled over with.

I think you're all correct in saying it's a bit less dense. It doesn't *look* that way like you see on hazes or something, but you can tell when you squeeze a bud of it. My biggest problem with the deathstar is it kicks my ass too hard. I've had the occasional "michigan medical" plus dozens of strains I've run from seed and nothing has come close to the way it knocks me down. Has anyone had the chance to get it tested yet? I'm really curious about the CBD % in it as I feel like it has the most beneficial medicinal properties of any strain I've encountered yet.

It's funny you mention to that - I was just remarking to someone about the DS.. We used to get this awesome Sensi Star back in 2000-2001ish in NW OH. The first time I grew out this DS and sniffed a dried bud, the stink brought me right back; Definitely has that skunky/earthy stank from the Sensi Star, with a little greaze twang.

And to your point about its knockdownability, .. Yes!

It doesn't matter if we are medically compliant and by the law, we can legally make a caregiver to caregiver or caregiver to patient transfer. Even though Michigan recognizes medical cards from out of state, and you can fly through DTW with meds in hand... I've seen lab scores around 25%. CBD isn't particularly high, its mostly THCA. I'll let you know how mine tests.

If Deathstar is a proper skunk then I think it will hands down wipe its ass with the OG's and Kush market if you grow it with care.

I have never got as stoned from a strain like skunk can get me. Skunk can get me tripping!
