Max Yield in 5x5x8

C

Chris1

I posted this a while back, didn't get much feedback, but I'm about to finish my current run and need some 411!!!

I have a cool tube 600 ready to rock

I'm essentially deciding between a DIY UC/RDWC scrog, or sog tables. Strains would be half LVPK, half Blackberry Kush.

What would YOU do to max yield with a 600 in the given space (willing to add an additional 6, dunno if I have the power)

I don't know considering your strains - but if it was me...

I would probably hang the bulbs bare (buy protective welders glasses for when your in there with the light on) and grow vertically.

The heat from the lamp (s) will go strait up and is there by pretty manageable and the light gets used up something like 60% more (lol I dunno made that up but hey it may be even better.

Set up plants like a Colosseum and train them to face to light \___(*)___/

Can be done with two lights or even more, and leads to maximum grams/watt

You can do RDWC, Soil-Soiless, whatever you want - supposedly maximum yields occure with plants the bud well when flipped right away so that you can position more in with prime nugs and less training and vegetating.

Lots of good threads on this technique

go sog. i have 2 600s over a 4x5 area. i fit about 35-40 plants under each. 1 gallon grow bags filled with coco, drain to waste. 1.25 # a light i minimum.

Just my opinion here, but I'd get dead-serious about finding out if I could run another light if I were you. A 4x5 is too big to cover with a single 600 for the buds that I like to grow. I have a 5x5 bed right now with some badass sativas in it, and there's one 1K over it with another 650 watts of side lighting. If I had my preferences, there'd be 1600 watts of side lighting~~one 400 per side.

Everything else pretty-much depends on the grow style that you can succeed with. The key component being YOU.

2 600s is too much power on 1 15 amp circuit right??

30 plants is just too many for me. The most I'd want is 15...not sure if that is a sog :p

Could I put 15 on a 4x4 table and maybe veg a little longer??

if your limit is 600w ,then use less space from the space you have..
make a good scrog with FEW plants in it and hit 1g/w..i think is
easy if you go rdwc..

the tittle of this thread should have been whats the most amount of bud i can get with 15 plants and a 600........ :tiphat:

i would put 49 plants and 2 600's air cooled... herbaliser think thats his name got 70+ oz from a Dr150 grow tent...

no reason you cant hit 1gpw with the space you have...

will be a lot easyer to get 1gpw if you know your plant, are growing from seed and have time like you said to vegthem a bit longer..

I would start in small pots tripling the size of your pot each time every 2 weeks for a total opf 6 weeks veg... search LST and Defoliation techniques...

:ying:

I have most definitely been looking into a v-scrog!! Definitely seems like a good option for my space. RDWC V Scrog???

... a buddy of mine does it with a 400 w cool tube in a very narrow but tall closet... grabs 350-450 gs pretty consistent (with soil)

Vertical bare bulb would be your best bet.

However, horizontal with a very nice hood you can cover a 3x3 area and do a scrog of about 9 plants. Maybe 12 short and squat indicas.

I'll be running LVPK and BBK, I haven't ran em before but I think they are both mostly indica.

I'm leaning towards a 600 rcdw vscrog cool tubed...I dont think either strains have a big stretch

Hey bro, ya might wanna jot this down somewhere for future reference.....600watts divided by 120volts equals 5 amps.

So....if you had two 600's, that would pull a shade over 10 amps once you figured in the ballast losses. That still gives you a safety margin. So yes, you CAN run two 600's on a 15 amp circuit AS LONG AS there's nothing else on that circuit.

But the cooltube and a V-ScroG would be an interesting way to grow too.

Check Marlos grow for a dual vertical setup in an even smaller space than yours if you wanna see what can be done. With a 15 plant limit that might be the way to go.

Thanks for the input guys I really appreciate it.

I checked my breaker box-the only breakers labeled is for A/C. I need to get a voltage meter or w/e to see how much power I have to work with. With an additional 6 I would have the 400 inline, 2 600s, water pump/air pump, chiller, and circulation fan all on a 15 amp circuit, that would be pushing it. And that's assuming nothing else is on that circuit...

If you need more power you can always get creative with it. I recently opened up the thermostat control for my baseboard heaters and installed a 240v outlet there instead.

That would be way too much, for sure.

I am going to make a new thread about the same issue but double the size.
I am planing a 10*10*8 flowering room with 4*600 over 8*8 area with 40
Hempy's flowering.

The main problem is that outside temps rise for 6 months a year
between 90 and 110+ wich make think as the only solution seal
the room and run an A/C to keep it cool.

My main question is what will yield better under 2400 Watt 40 Hempy's
or 16 RDWC buckets while i found vscrog rdwc setup hard to setup and run.

Any ideas will be helpfull.

I also deal with crazy hot summer temps. I think I'm just gonna run tables over the summer...I don't wanna deal with hot water temps and root rot
