What yields are you getting with the Gavita & E-Papillon?

Information seems scarce. Anyone?

Also what setting are you on (600, 750, 1,000, etc)?

I agree. Lots of talk of their greatness (mainly from reps), but very little in terms of real world results. I haven't heard of one grower saying they increased their yield by X%. Not that I'm skeptical or anything, just curious as hell.

Its hard to compare with my adjustawing/hortilux/lumatek set up, cause I am always trying new strains.

Just finished a Sincity Nightfire OG grow, 18 plants.
3 rows by 6. In a 4 by 8 area. in 3 gallon pots using chow mix, about 40/60 hydrocorn vs coco. Roughly 3 m2.
Sin city claims this strain should yield 300-500 grams/m2.

I am still drying, but wet trimmed weight with a trimpro unplugged, gave me just shy of 20oz wet per plant. Dry weight should be 4oz each give or take. works out to about 675 grams/m2 unless this stuff really dries out.

THis is 2 DE going at 1000watts the first 4 weeks, with 825 the last 6 weeks due to height issues, very stretchy plant, with a 300 plasma between, about 4 feet above the canopy to try and cover the whole area.

In the past I usually get the top range for breeders claims, but never crush them. Perhaps sin city is just modest.

Next grow is 30 plants, 3 by 10. 12 Blue power 18 Sin mint cookies. with 3 de set to 825 with 2 plasmas 300watts

I had asked this question recently and it seems that are not really for 1,2,3 light indoor set ups and are intended for greenhouses since you need a lot of height. Another turn off for me is you can't air cool the bulb which would mean that you would certainly need an Ac unit thus costing more electric usage to keep your temps under control

I don't want to dissuade you because I don't know myself, I don't get how the light would be 30" from plant tops and still provide enough penetration for a non sog grow to yield properly throughout

You don't need an AC unit with sufficiently low intake temperatures and adequate ventilation, although an enclosed grow with CO2 enrichment in addition would pay for itself in yield gains.

I don't think 30" is all that much height. You can always get the Sun Supply AC/DC hood, Philips or Ushio DE bulb, and use a standard 1000w high-frequency digital ballast. The hood doesn't directly air cool the bulb, but the glass holds the heat in quite a bit and allows you to be as close as 6" from the top of the canopy. Although, the additional IR from the bulb will probably bleach out the tops at that distance.

It is still a solid $450 investment to upgrade, but the bulb lasts for 2 years at over 90% efficiency. If the yield increase is there, and it should be just looking at the PAR readings, then these really can be worth it for even a 1-2 light operation.

a close friend of mine just went from 20 x 600 air cooled digital hps to 9 x 1000 epap.
he is saying epaps (without any special cooling) run cooler than the air cooled system.

he does soma beds and is using 3 lights over 4 beds.

I run a single pro 1000 and have no problems, just need tall ceilings. Also I don't run ac, I use an inline fan and my temps are always around 75F.

you would be surprised, the light has more penetration then you would think. I get hard buds on all but the lowest ft or so of the plant and I grow 5ft plants typically

1150w over 4x6 just over 900g last grow. The gavita is the only 1000w I have used so I have nothing to compare it to. I am very happy with it though. strains where wifi, southern lights, and ghost train haze 8.

Considering its your first 1000, seems promising for 900g. I would like to think a grower experienced with 1000s would do better.

My garden has been in poor shape this year, (not because of light but my own mistakes) but the one run that went very well had a little over 1000g for the 4 plants under the Gavita. (over 3 ounces per sq ft) On the 1150w setting. I attribute the result to coco PPKs and overlapping light. The Gavita was one fixture in the middle of the 9x3ft canopy, with 2x600w of regular HPS on each side. The largest two plants had the most light under the Gavita were a foot tall/wide when put under 12/12 and each yielded over 12 ounces.

The plants under the 600 watters got around .6gpw averaged out, although relatively low yield was partially due to other factors besides light.

Nice one oscar! Sounds good to me! Im just going to use 1 epap to start with. I honestly think ill never even consider augmentation. I think it will be perfect for my needs.
