Yogurt Cup Challenge

What happens in most containers is that a perched water table forms and the bottom of the container is too wet. Roots don't go down into the area that is perched because they would drown and that's why you have roots staying out of the bottom of the container. Your photos are a classic example of a container that has a perched water table.
It doesn't matter how many stones or whatever you want to put into the bottom to supposedly help it drain or how many holes you drill into the container; the perched water table just moves up higher in the container.

Nice bit of info. Ive been going through my pot stock drilling courses of holes up the sides. The larger the pot, the larger the holes and the higher up they go.

On a yogi note - I think this rounds winners are starting to show.

The only way to combat the perched water table problem is to have extremely well draining media. You can drill all of the holes in a container you want but that won't help the problem.

Hey sota pick out five and give us some individual shots of each. Give us some kind idea as far as height etc. and maybe some info. on your feeding schedule. Pretty colors you got there. I'm cool with your cups as long as the group is.

good looking garuda & sota as well (welcome to the party)

I just finished off the male in the yogi cup, sorry didn't snap a pic.... but my male Bay11 pollinated a blue heron female, a flo female and a flo x grimm female.

the 2 females in yogi cups (buddah's sister and Flo) are still chugging along, gave them some booster (koolbloom powder) this week.

I saw this too late to participate :( but I'm gonna do it on my own just for fun! Don't eat yogurt, but I have some antique Italian terracotta mini pots, holds 6 oz! Have all sizes, but these were for window sill herb plants. This is gonna be fun! Hope you guys hold this contest again. I'll get my friend to save the yogurt cups from her grand daughter for me. I'll be ready & waiting! :) :) :)
