Skunk #1 From Seed

Planning on running a pack or two of Skunk #1 and am curious as to which is the best/ most true to the original Skunk #1 (colombian gold X afghani X acapulco Gold) Pheno. looking for that skunky/fuel smell with the sativa high. have done a bit of research but each of the following have had mixed reviews. After searching a few reports im leaning towards Dutch passion.
The other 2 breeders being considered are:
Seedsman
Sensi Seeds

Any info or feedback on Skunk #1 from either of these breeders is welcome and appreciated.

Funny how almost no-one seems to be able to find a decent Skunk#1 these days.
Most everyone seems to be "looking" for it.
I see almost consistently unfavorable reviews of the above-mentioned Dutch stuff ranging from meh...to..uugh. Sensi Seeds seem to get a particularly bad bashing. MNS Shit seems to fare a bit better, but still not up to the mythical standard. Seen some OK reviews for SuperSkunk, not a huge amount though.

On the other hand there seem to be a lot of good Skunk crosses, spanning quite a wide spectrum from Haze right through to Afghan.

I went through a whole pack from seedsman. All of them herm'd on me in week 5, so I would vote againt the skunk from them.

I believe that's correct.

Different skunk lines have been bred in different directions for 30 years, so there's bound to be some variation at this point. I'd consider the Pure or Nirvana's super skunk, aso the Dutchmen's Skunk Classic for a more sativa effect due to the Colombian parent.

A guy could live to be 100 and never grow all the skunk hybrids out there...

i could definitely see why everyone would be looking for that great skunk #1 pheno. Solid smoke and great breeding stock its hard to see why someone wouldnt want a nice version of it in their room.

After checking some seed banks it looks like to start we're just gonna try our luck w 20 sensi seeds skunk #1(regular) and 20 DP skunk #1 beans(regular). if we dont find wat were looking for just gonna have to pop some more packs or consider a running a few of the skunk crosses.

The two problems with Skunk #1 are hermaphroditism and weak potency. This was a killer strain back in the 80s when cannabis breeding was getting started, but compared to today's strains, S1 is weak. The indica dominant crosses of today pack way more of a punch, IMO.

The Skunk I grew from Seedsman was pretty potent and a great plant overall. I just grew 1 fem.

For that matter, the Nirvana Northern Lights was a bell ringer too. I do not see the great difference in old strains and new ones in potency.

I think the best you can do is look for a clone of an old skunk. the seed search may be a long one.

IMHO you should avoid DP stuff...better go with The Pure from TFD,low prices for nices plants.Some may call it too sweet for a skunk but honestly this stuff reeks so much despite being a little bit fruity on the tongue.

I would be careful with TFD since Sensi Seeds bought the company years ago, but they used to be the best source, as both TFD and Seedsman used to have Cultivators Choice stock...

And what about Original Skunk#1 - Cultivators Choice Range from Seedman?? I don't think you will get better representation than the one from Skunkman himself nowadays.

sensi skunk#1 was shit looked nice and grew easy but not worth the smoke very weak
sensi super skunk was handed to a few friends to compare grows and was very disappointing although 1 plant out doors was nice ,sweet smell and taste no stinky dead skunk there but mind you only 2 packs of each were tried so there could be something out there just didn't find it
super sour skunk by hortilab was nice found a skunky pheno that was like smoking sensi super skunk pre 97 with a hint of sour thrown in ,worth looking at but can run up to 11 weeks flower and friend grew in hydro with spectacular results
theres so many skunks out there now just research and surely you will find something also what about cheese that's a skunk #1 plant from yester years,maybe look at some chem based genetics , just my thoughts

My other recommendation would be Warlock from Serious (Magus) Seeds..

Edit: Oh and Belladonna from Paradise Seeds.. It has great reviews everywhere..

Ahh, yes.. The Warlock is (skunk x skunk) x Afghani.. Belladonna is Super Skunk x unknown sativa.. Sorry, should of been a bit more up on my lineage for these.

But Mr Nice Shit is Skunk (Dom Afghan) x Skunk. To my knowledge they are just two different phenos of skunk brought together (or so I'm led to believe from the Mr. Nice website). I keep hearing good things about Shit..
