Why is Lucienne chosen over pure butane, low ppm brands such as Colibri and Ronson?

Much thanks and blessings,

SoulSynergySoil

If you're referencing my butane residual test results,

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=275567

Lucienne is extremely low residual.

The notes at the bottom of the test result page are necessary to fathom the numbers. I included the early test results done with the .01 gradient scale out of inclusiveness, same goes for the other guy's results. You need to compare apples to apples, only use my results that are expressed out to milligrams (.001g.)

Price, availability, utility............... It is also still appears to be one of the cleaner ones, unless I've fallen behind.

I was referencing to the msds reports: Lucienne being a blend of propane, isobutane, and n butane whereas Colibri is listed as pure butane. The ppm levels appear to be relatively equivalent.

Nevertheless, thank you very much for your service in providing reports on ppm levels of commonly used butane.

Nothing wrong with propane or isobutane for extraction. They actually extract a lighter colored oil, because of their lower evaporating temperature, and refrigeratative cooling under vacuum.

Lucienne MSDS txt/pdf can be found here: http://butanesource.com/msds

along with a bunch of other refined butane MSDS sheets and a nice comparison table of the blend of gasses each has well....

//I was searching for MSDS for the new Stok N-Butane and found this thread, so thought I'd share... but does anyone have that sheet by chance?? Thanks! :tiphat:

Here's the MSDS for the old Stok FYR,

http://stokusa.com/pages/msds

95% n-butane, <5% isobutane, <1.5% propane

I ordered two cans of the new Stok FYR Absolute Purity N-Butane for non-volatile residual testing, thanks for the heads up. It'd better be 100% n-butane and have ZERO residuals at what they're asking for it at eBay.

The new Puretane with seamless cans is 100% n-butane and is among the very cleanest butane refills I've tested. If you use their wholesale site http://www.puretaneusa.com you can get reasonable pricing on cases on up (<$65/case I was told by their marketing director a couple of months ago.)

Thanks for the info on the new Stok! I definitely want to try it out... I actually JUST ordered some Puretane off of that butanesource.com site, which is a little cheaper per bottle than on Puretane's own site because they seem to package more per case at the other site... 14 bottles in a case... kinda weird... anyways, I'll post back when I have a chance to do a run :)

ah, just reread the last post... puretane.us was the other site I was comparing pricing to... not puretaneusa.com.... which doesn't list their prices/shipping costs... I'll have to give em a call tomorrow I reckon

Absolutely, they are more than willing to give you great prices with free shipping if you go direct through the wholesale site. You want to speak to Gary Daughton if possible, tell him SkyHighLer sent you...
