any fittings in the plumbing dept will be tapered pipe thread and the fittings from electrical will be machine threads. they are not compatible and the tapered thread fittings are not designed to go all the way down.

I used ABS pipe, not ABS fittings. They didn't have PVC in 3", only 2".

figured i would put some pics up. ive been cutting the N down and only running the 5-12-26 and i also added a tiny bit of big bud powder i had laying around. i didnt think it would do anything but they foxtailed like crazy lol. those suck ass to trim but this is a very easy strain to cut so we will see how much more work it makes for me. im assuming foxtails add weight since they are added growth protrusions on the buds but who knows if its worth it or not. i personally think they look pretty but im sure i will be less than thrilled whilst trimming :)

everything is looking good except a couple burnt spots where they leaned to the lights. other than that we a golden. got about 15-20 days until they come down. im hoping those foxtails get real fat.

in the disco room we have some killingfields, anesthesia, leia og, sun maiden and candy drop. cant wait to see what these will do.

thanks otis. i cant wait for next round with 12 ppk sites! its gonna be crazy. its gonna be a ton more work since im doing the 2 rows and they will need to be vert scrogged aggressively but it should pay off in the end. i wish i had the ability to just run 2 of the 4 plant 5 light rooms but i just cant run that much power in that space without a 1000$ bill a month lol. i guess i could do it i just dont wanna attract attention

i just had an idea. i could leave my 10x10 tent up and run the 4 plant 5 light ppk in there AND run two rows of 4 with 3 1k's down the center. all i would need is 3 more 1k's and im set. too many options!

here's a quick preview of what's to come. i was gonna go on some mission to find new genetics but i got to thinking of how truly nice this chemmy is and i dont wanna do a full run with an unknown strain that could turn out to be shitty or have issues. i started this CJ from seed almost a year ago and i will let her legacy shine on. i still get people asking where she is months after shes gone lol.

and i have decided to run two rows of 6 plants not quite as large as these and there will be a 1k in between each pair down the center for a total of 6kw. considering this run is only 3.6 kw and i did this well i think this strain can do well in a well trained flat wall of buds as long as i keep up on the defoliating. this is my first time ever using 1k lights and i am truly impressed by how much more intense they are and how well the plants respond by really packing on the weight and frost. i think this is by far the best run for the chemmy yet. i cant wait for 12 of them at once.

Exciting stuff DH. Keep us updated!

I'm about to get started myself, but wondering what strains to run. I have an Apple Jack seed lying around ... Jack Herer x White Widow -- sounds pretty sweet. I think it's about 60/40 sativa/indica if I recall. I also have a Dinafem Blue Thai vegging in coco (I think about 30/70 sativa/indica). Any recs on strains?

I just ran a single six for the first time and though I was happy with the final numbers, the six just didn't produce buds as heafty as I'm used to getting with the 1000. I'm thinking I will stack 2 sixers in the tent next run. I'm considering trying a similar style grow as the row you are planning. how far apart are you r bulbs

i had a realy long reply typed out and then i refreshed the page lol. poof, all gone.

flat9 i wouldnt wait for seeds that i have no idea how they will turn out. i would source verified cuts and run your seed plants on the sidelines until you are sure they are keepers or not. you want nice and stretchy plants. 2-3x if possible with very good branching.

otis i was always happy with 6's until i got a few 1k's. now my 6's are backups from here on out. i dont even wanna veg with them anymore because the 1k's are just so much more intense. im not sure about my spacing, i want a good overlap so i have no dim spots. i have been contemplating a mover to make my lights yoyo but idk if i wanna get that crazy or not lol.

one of the more fox tail ridden buds lol. some are like this and some are pretty much normal.

im really on the fence about running some additives in a separate ppk and see if it does any good or not. it would be cool to see a side by side and see if they really are worth it or not. i know everyone has their own 2 cents on the issue, some yes and some no but i know sure as shit that they obviously do something(good or bad idk) because of the almost instant foxtailing just a couple days after adding big bud. i added way less than what was called for as i only had a tiny bit left.

i dont wanna run any PGR's or anything bad for the final product but if you guys have suggestions you would like to see just let me know.

i know, right? pretty cool as long as its adding weight then i guess its a good thing. i like foxtailed buds i just dont like trimming them all that much. these are going about 7-10 more days then its chop time. gonna set a tent up with a humidifier if need be so i can really draw out the drying process and really break down all that chlorophyll before they get jarred or bagged. i think the desert dryness is forcing me to jar them before all the "green" smell has broken down and then it gets trapped in the jars for quite some time before its burped away. this is my working theory anyway lol

stay tuned for some gnarly harvest photos as well as final numbers, thoughts, views etc lol

"Foxtailing" shows up as little protrusions out from the original end colas.....

Go back and look at the pics again and see the lil dicks stickin out at the ends....That`s foxtailing......

Usually brought on from the plants being too close to the bulbs/light source , and since I never used bloom boosters , I can`t actually say the shit DIDN`T cause said foxtailing cuz anything`s possible , but I`ve never seen anyone else speak of additives being the source or the cause.....dunno....now....

Lil tip DH......Run yer a/c during lights off till chop and get rid of ALL excess fanleaves to help start the chlorophyll degradation process BEFORE the chop.....see....

Colder lights off temps during late flower will indeed begin to bring out the inherent "anthocyanin" in ALL pot plants causing the purpling and wine colors to slowly emerge AS the chlorophyll dies off while the plants are still on the vine since chlorophyll`s temp sensitive.......

Guaranteed a humidifier to keep your dryin tent from droppin too fast after chop is a good thingy , so keep it set @ 60% till they get to that leathery " snap" , bag/burp em with the lil humidity monitor discs till no fluctuations are happenin beyond the perfect 62% and you`ll be golden without any hay smell and leftover chlorophyll in said nuggage.......anyways....

Good luck and Happy Turkey Day......

Peace....DHF.....:ying:.....

thanks for the info DHF, i didnt know about the lowering the temp method. i will go in and remove all the fans that i can over the next few days. it would be cool if i could get some colors in the buds.

next round will be open air and should be much easier to manage. i will need a few more large filters but other than that i should be golden. my buddy gave me back my 1k since he couldnt manage temps with it so i will only need to buy three now.
