Another beautiful grow from Zanddar!
They look so resinous, they have the look of Killer Malawi!
Biggest thrill I ever had with Malawi was in a coconut chalice that used a cutchie that held a ½ oz, it looked like a big chimney, haha straight into outer space at warp speed!

Welcome and thx Tangwena.

I have tried many strains from different breeders over the years.I know there is still lots of good stuff out there to be found.
The Ace Panama and Malawi are 2 strains I have found worth my time. Both strains I plan to explore more of in the future.

Some Malawi from seed may take 4 weeks to initiate flowering. The Malawi clones respond much quicker though.
My long flowering Malawi is now more inline with other strains.Flowering much faster and profusely than from seed.

The end result is worth the wait and has become one,if not my favorite strain to smoke and grow.
The power, duration and quality of high exceeds most other strains I have grown.
Vigor and beautiful plants without deformities is something to be expected from the Malawi.

I am very happy I found this strain and know you will be too.
As with most seed, you will find above average potency or below.
Just know that you have a good strain to start your search with.

I am very interested in breeding and genetics.

Randy, warp speed is where you want to be.Malawi will get you there. So hang on.

Some of my f2 seedlings.Time will tell if I have anything worth while.

Take care. :)

Hi Zandar pics as promised after following your thread and seeing the results any tips would be appreciated. I want to do this plant justice I have 2 400w ceramic metal halide and a 120w red led for extra red spectrum. Best wishes Tangwena

That looks ok.You have vented lights and should not have heat problems.Looks like the plant is forming some nice buds along the branches.
Just keep bending the branches down to keep them covering the area and not crowding.I like to tie the branches across the space.
So the buds come up and along the branches.Good to do this early, before they start to push resin. You get more light to the lower buds.
Looks like you are doing well and don't need much help.

Good luck.

Cheers Zandar I will keep them tethered, I just want to be sure to do them justice and not stumble at the last hurdle so to speak.

So what do you Malawi growers like in the trichromes? On sativas as soon as I see amber I flush and chop because the more amber I get the high turns more narcotic IMHO. I know some will disagree, and some will say the smoke is stronger. So does a week or 2 before say 14 weeks make a difference in the high?
I am sorry if this was asked already.

Thanks,

The m13 I have now is about a week or 2 away from coming down. Not sure exactly how many weeks this one is though.
Just guessing it is near the same as the other m13.I crowded this one in and was not planning on showing it.So I never marked the date down.
I am letting this one go longer than any others.I like to go over the edge and see just how powerful it can get.
There was lots of cloudy and almost no amber a few days ago.

The m13 from seed went 13 weeks and the clones are faster too.
Don't focus too much on 14 week mark. This is just the most powerful Malawi that I saved.
The other fruity Malawi was much faster, with a strong up high and finished near 11 weeks.

I have a few friends that do not like my Malawi, because it is too intense for them.
If you have never smoked such a powerful plant it can be a shock to your system.

Tell you a funny story about when I first started smoking M13.
I was smoking lots of Malawi this day.Sitting at my pc and the world started to go in slow motion.
I reached for my water and watched the water spill in slow motion. Then I woke up face first on the floor some time later.
I was also doing some intense exercise that day.So not sure what was going on,but it has my respect now.
Never passed out on weed before and this would be the first for me.Not to scare you,but some plants you have to be careful with.

Now I smoke a small bowl of it.I try a second bowl and only have one hoot from it.I am immediately into a deep thought process and my body is motionless.
It does keep building up over an hr or so.It does not have much of a tolerance either.I really get sent into another realm when smoking it now.

Later.

Wow Zanddar> Great pics and grow you have going. That M13 really sounds like a winner and I hope you made a mother plant from her. I can imagine making some good hash out of that:eek:

that's what we r looking for... with our golden tiger...

Well I am just a wannabe breeder.GT is something I want to try.
You don't know what the future may hold.I won't tell you either.Wait and see. :)

I normally smoke every day, sometimes all day long. This past week I gave it a break.
Now I try a small hash pipe bowl and don't finish it.Only 3 puffs and catapults me into some very deep thinking.
Could be my most potent plant here.Need very little to send you soaring high.Smoke better to smoke less.

This is 5 weeks for my M13 clone.Hard to take great pics in the dark, but I keep trying for you all.

M13 is on the left in first pics.Hashplant indica on right.
Only bent top over on M13.This african plant gets big fast.
Does not stretch much like other sativa though.Very nice for indoor grows.

Have a great weekend. :dance013:

The pot is 1 foot and maybe just over 3 feet of plant.
I will use my yardstick next time to give you a better idea.

Hello everyone.

This is a M13 f2 from seed.Don't see too many pure sativa growing squat and thick like this.
M13 was also the shortest and squat growing from seed.Grows like an indica with the effects of a pure sativa.
Had a male that looked just like this little female, but not much smell to him. Will look for better later.
Plants this nice encourage me to look further into the Malawi genetics.
Has a woody smell like mom. Will clone and flower it later.

Hey man, you're the best Malawi grower around here. You should be a tester for Ace. you describe the high so well and that recent one has made me so much more excited for this African beauty.

I have a very thin leaf pheno(regular) and is 40 days from 12/12(other plants in the room)

malawi1.jpg malawi2.jpg malawi.jpg

How long having a rough guess does she have left? she has been chopped back 3 times and would have been 3 times the size if left alone.

What ones are more powerful, the broader or thinner phenos?.
Sorry for all the questions but you seem like the best member to ask.

Cheers.
