Just so everyone knows, I will still work with GG#4 at some point, but it'll take a minute to find the right male again. I still have some ChemSour x SSCDH beans, that I'll Ix and then start sorting and hunting through.

The only downside to that is more genetic variation introduced, perhaps, and well, it's not like a new male will be a 1000% sure deal right away until tested out on a few plants, where as the SSCDH male was no question a male that improved everything he touched. So, all is not entirely lost, it's just going to be a while again...

On the other hand, there will be all kinds of GG#4 beans around from the sounds of things, and seeing those offspring will really help me in deciding if I'm on the right track in my own efforts again.

Sigh...two step backwards, 1/2 a step forward...

Point was NEVER to beat anyone to the punch or to be the first to work the plant (Bigscoot already had his crosses done anyway) - the whole point was to utilize THAT male. Again, truly sorry to anyone who was let down and is now back to hunting some way to have glue or relatives in their garden. I really wish things had played out differently....for everyone.

Best wishes to all the glue growers - to everyone making beans with her - can't wait to see the various line progressions. :respect: to all.

its sad no doubt, there is a lesson to be learned though, when you have outstanding breeding stock always have more than one person holding it, so many elite genetics have been lost to leo, bastards

Yup, lowdown dirty bastards got me for my keepers. I thought I had them backed up but those fuckers just don't listen :scripture::bashhead:
DF don't sweet it bro. You are still safe and hopefully Phil will find a loop hole also. :ying:

i don't have a yard either, but i also don't have huge grows like some of you. indoors i just keep a big garbagebag full of my soil i mix up and at the end of a cycle i just cut the plants and shake the dirt back into the bag minus the main stem portion and whatever roots didn't break off with the soil and go back in the bag. then i fold it back up till i need more soil.

A whole lot harder to back up males. Who really wants to keep them around for a buddy? Especially if you got plant counts to manage.

it isent that hard to keep a male around for years , just take cuts and keep it long enough to get more cuts and get rid of the bigger one, that way your not wasting space .

The key is dont let them go into bud. I lost the Male Headband, because it was in bud when it was cloned. Clone everything early and the male will be just fine

No not hard at all.
I'm just saying most folks won't want to hold a male for ya.
A female, sure, a male not so much.

Pollen n the other hand, sure I'll throw that bindle in the fridge for ya.

How bout seeds, you store seeds too? I got some extras I wanna back up.

Thats how i do my female keepers. But who wants to do that for males. For years on end. Especially for someone else.
But you did bring up a great point. Backing shit up is key. A lot of stuff has been lost through the years cause only one person had it.

And it does only take a 23watt cfl to keep a plant alive indefinetly. Low wattage bulbs are actually preferable, since they keep the plants metabolism and growth slow.
Ive been keeping my mothers under a 32w cfl recently. Pretty far away too. And the plants looove it. Slow growing and healthy.

BTW, jw that pic was money. :tiphat:

I think I have better luck cloning males and keeping them. My first time trying to store male pollen and I fudged it up. I pulled it out of the freezer to try to pollinate some branches on my current grow and none of it took. Anyone have any tricks they wanna pass on to noob When it comes to storing pollen in the freezer and keeping it viable. Thanks in advanced. Peace mike

Dry it, keep it dry, seal it up in screwcap vials with a grain of rice, refrigerate it for a day then into the freezer, in a dark outer container

Yeah mike, id bet any money you didn't dry it enough before storage. And i always keep pollen in the fridge. The freezer seems harsh to me. I always chicken out of putting it in there:dunno:

Ive stored it wet and ruined it before. The pollen looks like its dry when it falls outta the balls, but its not. Also make sure you get any tiny pieces of flower parts outta the pollen.

WiFi are fem seeds

I have a couple Eastbound males already

Wifi Alien seeds are reg. I know its not quite the same, but good wifi phenos can be found.

That GG4 x Eastbound should be retarded:tiphat: I dont see how it couldnt be.
Any chance theyll be available?

Goddamn thanks for the tips guys that is what I did wrong. I didn't let it dry I collected it and put into a air right container and right into the freezer it went. I lost a very nice forum leaning male out of my forum x g13/widow that melting pot made. I should of cloned him but I figured in the freezer would keep it good only for a month. Next time I'll make sure I let it dry first and use your guys tricks to keep it viable. Thanks a lot for the info pappy and dr Purpur I really appreciate it. Mike

its moneys fault, damit mike.

here is how I like to do my veg plants, I don't like topping the glue, seems it responds better to a good bending when she is young

I think I have to wait until dec. for my cut of glue. Hopefully sooner I can't wait to run that beautiful girl. She looks like she isn't a needy girl everytime I see pics of her I just look in aww because she is so pretty in every department. Ill still grab packs of beans that people make and send to the bay even if I have the cut. I love running people's creations always fun popping beans to see what you find. You never know could turn out to be the next big clone being passed around. Peace mike
