For my outdoor plots back home in the south because they would get so big! In the bay area they don't get as big, something bout that southern sun and heat..

I cut mine into 1 inch pieces to store in mason jars. After they're cured, I soak them overnight in 99% isopropanol. I then strain and evaporate to get a nice potent oil perfect for edibles and tinctures. The stem oil comes out with a great taste, different from oil from buds or trim.

Throwing them in the garbage? Dunno, i belong to a generation of clue destroyers. I even strip off the labels of the nutes before disposing of them. Seen leftovers of canna stuff in rubbish containers complete with suitable back gardens nearby. If i'd be a cop or a crop thief, i would look further, and as i've seen it, anyone could.

i save glandy stem (not smart to hold on to excess weight tbh) for rainy days

i never end up using it and last time i saved up a few Spackle buckets worth i donated them to some one who was resourceful and med needy

edibles can do alot for a person who is sick

Hmmm, you try to make a funny comment to make people smile, early on a Saturday morning, and some grumpy SOB wakes up
and thumbs down you 'cause he hasn't had a bong hit yet !?!

I cut stems and cram them to fit in 1 qt. mason jar, then fill with brandy, or other spirits, put in dark for about a month, shaking ever few days or stand jar upside down. Makes a nice buzzy aperitif, not too strong but definitely a buzz.

@AridBud -

I do the same thing, but I use more than 3 loads of stem (colander filter) between and it gets more potent each time... ;p

I save everything. Back ( way back circa 1979 ) was getting hash from Lebanon, blonde to red, came in white linen bags with a stamp on them. The best ones had a green stamp.

We cut all the stamps in squares and made a patchwork shirt out of them. Unfortunately in the first wash the stamps came off and that was that :tumbleweed:
