The two roasts I did I used 1/2 a cup for each. I Went about 5:30 on the first and 6:30 on the second. Pretty much just a city roast.

This is what Sweet Maria's recommends so as to familiarize yourself with different coffee origins/regions and how the beans taste.

Eventually I'll play around with roast levels but I'm a light roast kind of guy anyway.

So I figured I'd finish one more project that's been on the list. A new type of cloner. Bought these parts months ago and just never put them together so I did tonight.

Started with a standard 1020 tray and an airstone long enough to cover the bottom. Glued the airstone in place so it won't float around and will stay beneath the water level.

Put a couple pieces of 3/4" pvc in the tray to hold up the 1020 with holes that will hold my Rapid Rooters.

Put the 1020 with holes on the pvc and done. Fill with water, connect airstone to an air pump and see what happens. The goal is to have an oxygen rich moist environment for the RR's to hang out in.

Thanks joesy!
I am suing for copy right infringement. the only thing I can see that I do different is to put two air tubes in mine, like quarter points in the tray.

Lotus ,Yeah you don't see it when you look at them everyday ..... but pics really tell the story of they're progression . :)
I like to be able to compare past grows of the same strain that i'm running now to see if theres much difference or where i screwed up , things like that . i can go back & look at when they stretched the most or when the buds filled out etc ...

i was thinking , but didn't say anything . that the outside cells are not going to get much use of that air stone being on the other side of the PVC .... :dunno:

its only been like four days since i put the big glue in and im already doubting i can get the screen over it....

looks like the chemdog99 buds are ready to be trimmed, guess i know what i will be doing today...better get to the store real quick and grab a few things, its also starting to get snarky out...just got the main garden bed wrapped in plastic to serve as a coldframe for the succulents since the cactus house is packed full...im really going to need a proper greenhouse at some point....winter storm coming for most of the state, looks like a rain event for us of course, hoping to get the walls all knocked together this weekend, plus i can use the down time to get in and clean both bike thoroughly and get them all lubed up and reset the comps, going to be putting the fat tires back on the surly and save the skinny tires for when i start going on multi day trips, but im ready to get back on some dirt....gotta get my mountain biking technique a little more polished before i drop another 1800 bux on the pugsly....i was checking out the new moonlander.....nice....

I had thought of that but the most I will ever be trying to root would be like eight or ten so one airstone will do for me. I'll jute keep them in the center two rows directly above the stone.

Dans I'll let you know how it goes. My wife thinks water will be spraying out from between the two trays and I'm not sure she's not right.

I seen that . i didn't check out the details of them , but the pugsly & the moonlander look pretty close to the same type bike . the gearing & or braking different maybe ???

its just an air stone , plus you have the PVC between the stone & the sides .... if it does spray over .... just make the PVC longer & don't use the outer cells .not gonna do much for the ends .... but i doubt you'll have problems . you gonna use a dome over the cell tray ???

the moonlander has bigger rims and tires and a better grade component group, more for extreme weather all terrain use like those crazy fuckers in alaska who insist on riding when its -45 out....
the pugsly looks like the best option for me since its not too much bike for me,the components should be more than durable enough for what i can dish out,im more of a mellow cruise out in the wilds rather than a cross country shred master,i like it smooth and flowing rather than technical single track,im pretty happy on 4wd drive roads or old forest service roads...the pugsly will just open up more terrain...theres tons of sandy bottom canyons that go for miles out in the desert that allow easy access to the real back country areas...there may be roads, but its miles and miles out of the way to get to the same spot....

just getting back from a grey windy trip to walmart...made another microscopic saddle height adjustment...like maybe a millimeter...and pushed the saddle forward a millimeter or so...just a tiny increment...yet i could tell immediately it was more comfortable...and i could get more power through the pedals...gotta go for a longer ride soon to see...thats were these little changes pay off...been tuning in the road bike saddle as well....funny that a tiny adjustment like this being off slightly probably led to this knee pain..over short distances not so apparent, but after 40 miles or so those extra few thousand pedal revolutions the micro-stress starts to add up...
at any rate, felt good on the bike, some days not so much, but today was a good bike day...only a short ride,no time...weed to trim....

no water will spray, just air bubbles . you may want to use a smaller diameter pvc pipe though, my insert tray sits lower, no gap .

Well the ole car took a shit on me today...pulled up to one of my clients offices and noticed smoke comin from under the hood. Popped the hood and found a leak in my radiator (not sure if its the radiator or hose quite yet) and it was blowing coolant all over the place. :dunno:

Good thing i have an ole 4runner i use as my backup/camping vehicle...time to fire that old beast up and put it to work
