This new system seems to have forgotten the people that the mmar was originally designed for, Sick people with a probably very limited income. The new program seems to be a push towards a money making scheme where anyone will be able to get a script for anything from a hangnail to cancer, but you better have money to pay.... I wouldn't be surprised if the gov't lets police sell seized pot to LP's eventually..... That would make for a real interesting industry....

Personally I really don't care who makes money and why.. I don't make any money off of cannabis ,in fact I spend money. What I really do care about is quality and there seems to be a real lack of that out there. The clubs get large producers and ppl with excess bud so you would think that a menu with over 40 flavours that you could find one thing great .. I have been going to all the clubs for many years and I have yet to find that.. lol.. To me this really sucks because this means this will be what we will be getting from mass producers . I would rather grow my own and be done with everybody else.. The only moves our Gov makes is for themselves they couldn't give two shits about anyone for any reason !!,stay frosty headband 707

yea anytime gov't puts their hands in something they fuck it up...i don't disagree...but things needed to change...

I saw this posted today in another forum it looks like prairie system is still selling shake crap to medicinal patients to be precise they sold 1,865 kilograms of fucking SHAKE thanks to an exclusive $5.7-million government contract.

this is RIDICULOUS

Came in the plastic pouch you can see below and as for the 15g ya ok not quite cause it weighed in at 14.5 and while only 1/2 a gram, but that is 1/2 less I have oh well. Who ever cleaned it didn't know what they were doing as there is lots of leaf material. As is says it is milled and it sure is there is no bud at all just bits and pieces. Smoked a joint and ya it gets me high, but that is not what I am looking for so I take it this is Indica based. Considering tho it is cheaper than the street crap in this city and better to so I am not really complaining about it, it just doesn't help with the pain. It has a smell from what I remembered from the past tho which is alright. I can legally post these pictures now lol no that it stopped me before ha ha ha.

IMHO...The Harper government is modeling this new program(the MMPR) after the American program.

Let me explain my thinking...

In the states you go to your Doc and pay $100-200 dollars for a patient medical marijuana card, which allows you medical status for one year. With this card you can access dispensary's in the state that the card is issued and buy what ever is offered on there menus. This card also makes you, a card holding medical user, exempt from prosecution from the state laws. Basically anyone can get a card from there Doc for pretty much as you said "from Hangnails to Cancer". If you have the cash for the Doc, you got the card and you are safe from the law...Fairly straight forward and simple.

This is what the Harper government is hoping for.

It will mean anyone with a $100.00 or so, can become a Medical MJ user and purchase from a LP. This gives every recreational user, easy access, to safe law exempt Marijuana. This is why they are predicting such large numbers of participants(450,000 Plus in the future). The only difference between the American model and the Canadian model is the Canadians will buy from LP's instead of dispensaries.

The MMPR is set up for "Recreational Users" to get medical status and buy from government approved Licensed Producers and no threat of prosecution. The MMPR is totally profit driven and cares little, if any, for patients that can't afford the price of legal medicine from the LP's. This I believe because, by there own admission(Health Canada), it is expected and excepted that 30%(more like 60%) of existing MMAR participants will have to discontinue Medical MJ use and as HC said, use prescription drugs cover by medical plans.

The government totally believes that all people that use Marijuana are recreational users. That all Medical MJ users are just rec users, smoking legally. And since they(the Harper government) can't stop the medical use of Marijuana, then they should control and profit from it.
