room for a tent now, what should i go for?

ul have 2 passive vents but there is a hole for cabling etc on the right hand side entrance could put a 4 inch intake there if you wanted

My 150rvk is attached directly to the filter in the tent, and only the ducting leaves the tent, going out of the top of my tent.

So you should be allright just getting the ducting out of the side or top easy.

nice one chaps. ive decided on the dr80. gonna order it now. just wanted to make sure i had room for extraction gubbins outside tent. even if no room on the sides i can go through the roof of tent so bingo bango bongo. cant wait!

Its 90cm from the back wall to bed and 85cm from wardrobe to windowsill. If i got a dr80 (80cm x 80cm) tent i would only have 5 cms space outside tent for the extraction stuff (presuming that the hole in the tent for extraction is on the side rather than the back?) is this enough?

Basically how much room do i need outside the tent for extraction gubbins?

im a complete newb mintz and i dont know anything about extraction fans or owt. If i ordered a 5" fan i hoped that it would come complete with all i need to setup i.e., scrubber, intake etc... is this not the case?

Have you considered the noise of the fans keeping you awake that close to your bed.

got to admit i am worried about gettin busted by the old man. but did a closet grow in the same place and didnt get busted. However, i didnt have an extraction kit and only had a 5" desk fan which i did turn off when went to sleep?

how loud is the fan gonna be? how long does it stay on for? does it need to be on 24/7?

I think the fan will be heard by someone nearby if your door or window is open , even if you box the fan up to reduce noise and use insulated duct it will still be heard .And yes you should run it 24-7

i use to have a 1m tent right next to my bed and i had to put the fan in the loft to keep noise down and i still needed ear plugs to get a good nights kip.

Possible solutions i would say are to keep your door locked and close the window when someone is outside ,probably not realistic tho.
Always have your music on if that is allowed that will cover the noise .

cheers for that... im a light sleeper too. shit that has made me rethink. just bought some coco and pots picking up the tent literally tomorrow. the extraction was gonna get was the rhino 5" (means nowt to me presume its louder than an xbox360?) couldnt find the s&p td 150x in uk.... guy in hydro shop down road only had rhinos in stock and he said they were good. guess i can still use soil and pots in greenhouse

shit did'nt want to put you on a downer man , is'nt there no way you can square it with the old man? i know i would'nt of got to end of the sentence with mine before they said no but you say you have already grown something ?, i find it hard to believe that your parents did'nt know about it , maybe they turned a blind eye you never know .

or you could just say fuk it do it and then say "oh i did'nt think you'd mind me doing that" when they find out LOL . i hope something can work anyway

Well during the build of my new room i sometimes left extraction on by accident and i never heard it from out of the room, but i would expect your dad to hear even those low noise`s especially in his house.

Its about 4.00am in the morning when noises become more noticable. All I could suggest is having it on through the day and grow plants straight through on 12/12. But to be honest you will be struggling keeping a 5 inch fan from being heard.

My fan is a 150rvk, and i can only hear it when im in the room the tent is in. Once i go outside and the door closes i cant hear it at all. There is also a 100rvk intake on the go too. Might have something to do with the fact there are 3 kids running about the place but even now when two are up my mums and we just have the babba, i cant hear a thing.

But how are you going to keep your dad from ever going into your room and hearing/seeing whats going on?

i got a 5" fan in my DR80, its boxed and runs on a very low speed. Can`t hear it during the day but if u are the only one up at 4am u can hear it even with all my efforts to reduce the noise.
think u can get away with a smaller fan m8 good luck
