According to Phresh staff... you only need 200 cfm of airflow per 1000 watts.. Thoughts? Seems a bit skimpy to me personally, but their filters do the same job as others almost twice the size.

1- 5 x 9 Gorilla Grow tent.
1- 8 inch exhaust fan
1- speedster fan controller
1- Blazer 8" air cooled reflector
1 Lumatek 600 watt Eballast
1 600 Watt HPS bulb
2 2 bulb t8 florescent fixtures (mixed warm and cool bulbs)
1 32 oz FN bloom
1 32 oz FN grow
1 16 oz ph up
1 16 oz ph down
1 16 oz silica blast
1 6 oz Superthrive
8 (1 cubic foot each?) bags Black Gold mix

Is 600 watts of light enough for 45 sq ft? (lol)

I have this setup in a garage. The tent is up, noting else is assembled, in fact a few of these items are still en-route.
Now all I need to do is go to the Dr to get my med exemption and I will be off to the races. How much should I be able to yield? I am going to start off by doing a 4x4 scrog under just this one lamp. I am looking at getting at least 16-24 oz per harvest using this method. I am growing for myself and two other patients. SUGGESTIONS!!! :cathug:

everybody has a way they like to grow, and it works for them... most importantly than anything you have to find what works for you.
youtube is amazing, because so many people have grows on there you can see what's "ENOUGH" for you. only you can answer that.

first i'll say i grew with a 400 then upgraded to a 600 then upgraded to a 1k, and when i got to the 1k it went commercial high grade quality. i hear people with lower liking what they grow, but for me, i like the results you get when you hit 1k.

hood: i matched my growing area with the hood. i haven't seen that hood in the store in comparison, but i like the magnum xxxl... those fit almost directly over a 4x4 tray.

yield: again IMO the 1k gives best results, more power, more photosynthesis. bigger the root, bigger the fruit. IMO though, 1k, getting 24-36 oz. is "normal" even following the cookie cutter recipe on the nutrient line. you'll grow the amount that you put your heart into. if you don't pay much attention, don't expect much. if you do, then well... get good advice, and like my momma told me... "READING IS FUNDAMENTAL" haha.

nutrients: IMO it's best to get a whole line of "something" and then work from there. when i first started it was general hydroponics, but when i went commercial it's been and will stay house n garden. after you get a few harvest under your belt, it's easy to see what you like and what works for you. you also become familiar with reading nutrient labels in the form of N-P-K. then products will start to make more sense.

tent: a 5 x9 is basically a 4x8 with moving room around the edges. easier to think about. there are so many setups depending on budget that you can run in a tent. i suggest you check out channels like "growingforfreedom" i like that guy. his perspective on some things is just way easier said that typed.

legal: you should of got your script and prolly the script from your caregivers before you started ordering things. you should of got yours first for sure. you grow is like a golf score, the less people know the better. you know. imagine if one of your patients can't get a script and you guys have a falling out. potentially can turn into a bad situation. end up going from :woohoo: to :tumbleweed: real quick if you get me.

odor control: everything in moderation, but over doing it is highly recommended. this should be your main concern when dealing with high population areas. again, like the golf score. if you can smell it, so can i.

lights: you need an idea for your set up. t5's n 600w. what's the flow of your garden man? don't want to be wasting money on electricity when you don't have to. you need a vegging area + a flower area. you said you only have one tent, so if you using half for flower then half for grow... you have to be thinking that. folks can't read your mind, so having a clear garden flow is important also. up there with ahhh... the golf score. :chin:

i think that's all i got for you brah... lol. :smokeit: peace.

There is already a person living here that has their prescription. Regardless, nothing will be grown until legal status has been attained. I don't think buying grow equipment itself is inherently illegal is it? I am using the tent as an enclosure for now. I will be doing a 4 x 4 scrog under this single 600 and see what results I get before I decide to change anything or upgrade. The Blazer is basically an improvement on the Blockbuster hood. Nice even light distribution out to about 4 feet from 22 inches above or so. Minimal hotspots

Get a flame defender, cheapest insurance ever.

I will be growing inside a Gorilla 5 x 9 tent on the 4.5 sq ft to the right side. How would I hang this in a setup like that? Its seems if I hung it above the hood, it would not be as effective. I would like your opinion, thanks:tiphat:

Change of plans.. going with super soil... its in a trashcan mixed up and cooking as we speak.. I may do a 5 gal dwc also..
Here is my super soil ingredients:
to 6 cubic feet of black gold organic soil I added:

2 1/2lbs. Bat Guano (0-7-0)
2 1/2lbs. Bone Meal (3-16-0)
2 1/2lbs. Blood Meal (12-0-0)
6 tbsp Epsom Salt
1 tbsp Powdered Humic Acid
1/4cup Kelp Powder
1/4 cup Azomite
1/2 cup Dolomite lime
1/2 cup Mycorrhizal Fungi - Endo Fungi (134 spores per gram )
Then I put it into a garbage can and added 2 gallons of RO water
Tell me now if I need to add anything else and I will try and toss it in during a weekly dump and stir.
THANKS 4 INPUT!
