What's new

Rosetta's New Cab

It seems there was a bit of a jump in bud growth/resin production last 2 days, she's finishing up nicely now. I took a real good look at the trichomes with my loupe and there's definitely amber starting to show. I gave her the last watering yesterday, so she can dry out a bit before harvest. It's usually around 2-3 days inbetween watering, but with lower temps this slows, and I'll only be chopping in 4-5 days. Still no smell outside of the box.

:woohoo: HARVEST TIME :woohoo:
I just took the Northern Lights x Skunk down at 57 days, not without a fight, though. Just taking down all the lights was very tricky particularly the 125w since they kind of grew around it. Then I tried taking the whole pot with her out, no luck. So I opted to just chop the stem and take the screen of buds out, but stem was a bitch to cut, like wood. I got her out though without any real injuries :dance013:

She looks fantastic, the tops were still putting off new pistils, but she was ready enough. She also put off quite a reek when I was wrestling with her trying to get her out haha. It was lovely, some kind of dank candy smell, definitely still some citrus in there.

I've not even really started trimming, but here is a quick overhead shot for you guys. The left side of the pic is the front of the cab where I took all the earlier shots, lighter for reference:

I hope to hit 2 oz, I think it could be even more, but I'll have a better idea after it's all trimmed. Speaking of, I've got quite a bit of work ahead, I'll make sure to get some more pics up soon! Thanks for everything guys, I would be nowhere if it wasn't for all the great information and people on this site :thank you:

EDIT: I also noticed something, the date is 11/11, Rosetta Stoned is actually a Tool song that's exactly 11:11. Maybe it's good luck?

Have fun, beware of sticky fingers and use a hair net.
I look forward to the smoke reports.

Thanks guys! After a little marathon, I'm all done trimming, it took all night and a good portion of the next day. It took 2+ hours to get her buds safely out of the screen and remove all the non-sugar trim. She was leafy, but not that hard to trim overall. Lots of popcorn/fluff, but also plenty of good tops. The popcorn goes to hash so that doesn't bother me a bit  No mold whatsoever, even with the super dense canopy.

Here's another shot of the canopy before I cut it up:

I whipped up a little drying area, humidity is around 55% give or take. I've got a little carbon filter unit with a built-in fan I'm using for airflow. I want to ensure a slow dry, as I've had plants dry a few days early and the difference in quality is noticeable. Sometimes they can end up too dry and it just crumbles in the grinder, not desirable. Not sure if I even need the carbon filter cause I can't smell anything in the room!

This is all I got done the other night, the back row is the larger colas that I trimmed first:

This was after I finished trimming yesterday(bad pic):

A few macros(I'll try to get some better ones when she dries):

Here is her stem, doesn't it look like a totem pole to you?? I see all sorts of faces in there:

She could have benefited from a little more time, but to be safe I decided to take her down early. That quality still seems extremely high, maybe some of the better stuff I've grown. The smells that came out during trimming were simply unbelievable, pungent skunky, lemony, sort of sweet with a little sour on the end? Hard to really pin down exactly, but it's really something special. It still puts out very little smell until handled. I made a little iso oil from the trim that's really pretty powerful, seems like a slightly trippy sativa dominant high, with a good duration as well.

I should have dry shots/dry weight/a smoke report in a week or so.

congrats! :good:

congrats! :good:

aaaa the buds look just so perfect i cannot stand it! i salivate like a f***ing rabbit staring at those sugar covered beauties

tell me buddy, cause i am close to harvest as well and i have a similar drying chamber on its way, do you think there will be any difference in hash made from well cured buds vs. bone dry colas?
i know the difference is considerable when nuggets are smoked, but with hash? what do you reckon?
i ask since i will likely turn the whole yield into hash and i am concerned about drying the harvest way too much (i won't be able to control its humidity level as much as i would prefer...)
cheers for your opinion.

well done, pal :good: what is your next plan?

Have fun, beware of sticky fingers and use a hair net.
I look forward to the smoke reports.
why a hair net?

:thank you: guys!

NKOTS, I believe even if the colas are somewhat over dry, or dried too quickly, it shouldn't hurt the hash quality, unless the plant matter breaks up too much and more ends up in the final product. I think the resin should be fine, mainly it's the buds that require slow drying, but I've never done a definite test. If you're making oil or bubble hash I would suggest breaking it all up fresh and freezing it, then using it. Maybe try drying a few of the good colas and see how it goes? Just so you have a little something to smoke your hash with :joint:

My plan for now is to relocate, but good news is that it looks like I may be moving in with a trusted friend. He's down to let me set up in his place so in that case I'll be back to it in about a month or so.

fashionably late :p NICE WORK MATE!

I didn't know u had something indoor going! Glad its filling the voids of the outdoor :D

i need to get caught up on ur thread. and so many others ahhh!!!

:smoke out:

:good:

Thanks everyone. I've luckily figured out a living situation, but I'm unfortunately unable to get dry shots for you guys :( The final yield was around 32 grams, it would have been significantly better if I had more time. I'm taking a break for awhile, but whenever I get the chance to start growing again, I'll make sure to start a thread.

Hey everyone, I figured it was better to keep this thread going than to start a new one all over again.

I'm in the middle of a killer outdoor season. I decided to make some seeds this year, so I popped three beans inside and flipped them to 12/12 almost immediately. I got a vigorous, early male, which I've already chopped and harvested pollen from. The other two are female and didn't show preflowers until a day or two before I chopped him. So they should only have a couple seeds, if any at all. I didn't notice any forming offhand, but I'm new to this aspect of growing.

They are in the same cab I used for the grow earlier in this thread, but a very stripped down version. For the time being it's only a 44w CFL (6500k, not ideal for flowers) and a fan, but I hope to get another light or two in there. I have a little air filter in case the smell starts to get bad late flower.

Anyways, here they are. I've gone with training them around the light in a sort of mini-vert style. I get some nice smells from rubbing the stems.

This is just a quick little grow for fun, to keep me busy while I'm waiting for the outdoors to be finished.

The girls are fully budding now. Some good smells, I could yield maybe a half ounce if things go well and the buds are fat. I don't have anything around the bulb to protect the plants from burns, so they look a little rough, but otherwise they are pretty healthy. I hope to feed them some aerated compost tea and see how that works out for me on a micro scale.

Here's a quick shot of them in the cab.
