The family of a kidnapped woman in Duson, La., Bethany Arceneaux, took justice into their own hands Friday when they rescued Arceneaux from her captor, Scott Thomas, killing Thomas in the scuffle that ensued.

Arceneaux, 29, was kidnapped on Wednesday from a child-care center parking lot by Thomas, 29, the father of her son, reported The Advertiser. Their two-year-old son was in her car at the time, and was not harmed.

Arceneaux’s family received a tip that she was being kept in an abandoned house nearby. As law enforcement had not yet acted, a half dozen family members assembled at the house and kicked down the door. They said they did not know what they would find.

They found Arceneaux, bloody but alive, and Thomas. In the confrontation between Arceneaux’s family and Thomas, guns were fired and Thomas was fatally shot.

Arceneaux, who had been stabbed multiple times by Thomas, also sustained further injuries. She was driven to a nearby hospital, and is reportedly in stable condition.

“She’s shook up, she’s sliced up, but she’s alright,” said Ryan Arceneaux, Bethany Arceneaux’s brother, who was involved in the confrontation along with another brother, Kaylyn Alfred.

“We found her. We went and got her in that house. We kicked doors down. It was like a movie unfolding.”

According to USA Today, Arceneaux had a protective order issued against Thomas on June 17. He was arrested Aug. 8 for violating the order and charged with aggravated assault and aggravated flight from an officer.

"He keeps threatening to kill us," Arceneaux wrote in her complaint to police. “He put a knife to my neck countless times."

"I can just imagine how chaotic that confrontation was. The person who acted in defense of Ms. Arceneaux is a relative, a close relative to her. So I can imagine his emotions were probably high, and everyone's levels were very escalated," police spokesperson Capt. Kip Judice told KATC.

Judice said that while events indicate that the family members acted to protect Arceneaux, police are still investigating the incident. It is not clear whether any of the Arceneaux family will face charges.

Good on her family for doing what needed to be done. They gave that shitbird the permanent dirt-nap he deserved. I love a story with a happy ending.

Great for this family taking matters into their own hands. However, mark my words, they are going to prison for this. The powers that be can't have civilians standing up and doing things for themselves. Shoot, major city's it's now a crime to feed the homeless. Hope I am wrong.

Street Justice is the only justice I can afford.

The community should pay any legal bills to defend the Fall Guy, cause There WILL be one.
Although Jury nullification is likely in this case.
The defense will cost FAR less than a Kidnapp/Murder trial, and stay on Death Row.
So this is a WIN WIN situation (cept that it happened at all).

Peace; 1TT

I think you are wrong. This is Louisiana and rescuing a kidnapped woman who was being tortured is the family's right. FL has stand your ground. LA has don't mess with women or children.

Case Closed.

Regardless of the law, if anyone fucks with my Sis, or any of the family kids, they will end up in my bathtub full of ice cubes until frozen, then made into smaller pieces, courtesy of a nice new circular saw, bought in cash and smashed to bits immediately afterwards. Then the pieces placed to defrost on some kid of grid over a bucket allow the blood to drain away (freezing to prevent mess while chopping, thanks Dexter's brother), the blood being mixed with sawdust and going in the river. Then into the oven with the bits and pieces, until my house smells like a barbecue and the meat is falling off the bone. Meat to be spread far and wide for the local cats to enjoy, bones back in the oven until brittle, then into a bucket, with a baseball bat, a bin bag taped around the bat and the top of the bucket to prevent particles escaping, and the bones will be pounded to smithereens, and deposited in the next river.

Of course I haven't given it much thought:biggrin:

Yeah, any prosecutor who goes after family members for this is going to find himself a community outcast. Hopefully nobody shot the kidnapper in the back.

And that is Karma . Glad that Arceneaux is recovering from what must have been a terrifying ordeal .

What, no muriatic acid?

We call it Hydrochloric, but I haven't got a van to fetch a few 25 litre containers of "Patio and driveway cleaner" from B and Q. Nor do i have a patio or driveway, so 100 litres of said fluid would raise some eyebrows with the local curtain twitchers.
I always thought a wood chipper by the river would work, but that serial killer who was a baker, got caught because his chipper left some gnashers whole.

I always thought the chipper would be best if the scumbitch was awake and able to enjoy the show. Ketamine iv's help.

Bet if it would work better than a restraining order. Stop repeat offenders any way. ;)
