This thing on?

Tinal fallys on the Nighmares. One of the Nightmares was a week or two older than the other one. The younger one had a period where I had the blumat more closed than it oughtta been. Turns out that had a pretty significant impact on the yield:

Younger one/starved/thirsted for a bit: 60g

Older one/consistent sufficient water: 125g

:dunno:

Oh yeah... That's why I ditched blumats! Lol... Bigger pots + more drippers + blumat digital + organics = success.

:yeahthats

In all fairness, at that time you were also running coco/perlite, no?

How deep are those beds? I feel like you probably could get away with the regular blumats (and not the maxis), .. ?

It's funny - now that I just got some maxis, I've been considering just putting a pump/hose/wand into my rez and hand watering, since I'm cookin' with larger containers now..

But with a setup like yours, I can see hand watering not being inconvenient.. Those bigass beds probably need watered less often than, say, a bunch of 3 gal containers. :dunno:

Yeah coco/perlite.

The beds are 12" deep. Regular blumats should work just fine. I just need to set them up still... lol I only water the beds every 2-3 days. Its not so much that they need to be watered less often, but I can just set the hose on top of the bed and go do something else like move the tensiometer to another bed.

I really need to get the blumats going though... Time is scarce over here. It would be nice to skip a day here and there.

Thanks for reminding me - I need to just bite the bullet and buy a tensiometer m'damned self.

But let me muse here.. Aside from an actual quantified reading (in whole numbers, not "Moist/Kind of moist/almost dry/dry"), will a tensiometer give superior results vs using just a simple, $10-12 soil moisture probe?

Just kicking the tires here..

That's the damned thing - I think it all comes down to discipline.. Checking the pot weight often.. Watering often.. Checking the blumats often.. Etc.

So I suppose this tensiometer ain't gonna tensio it's damned self, so it's gonna rely on the same lowest common denominator as the other methods. ME. Hmm... :dunno:

I flipped three Nightmare Diesels yesterday. Two are in seven gallon smarties, one is in a 15 gallon smartie. (I'd liked to have been able to fit four 15 gals, but such is et cetera).

None of the photos of the vegetation turned out, and since time is scarce these days (see thread title), I'll post the few that did turn out.

You'll see a little bitta damage on a few of the leaves here and there - some burning/spotting. I bombed (Total Control Plus - thanks _D! in between runs, and didn't take care to get all foliage out of spray's way. DOH!

Do you mean Pro-control Plus? The only Total Control Plus I can find is a dietary supplement for horses.

lol... oh Silver... See we're growing for different reasons. I can't afford to guess whether or not I'm right, I need hard numbers. Quantitative vs qualitative. Measuring the weight of the pot works as well... Snype does that. Seems to me that would take more work than sticking a probe in the soil... And I know you're a lazy bastard.

I can't exactly pick my beds up to see if they need water... :D Whether you get a $20 metal soil probe or the $50 blumat digital with ceramic probe that functions just like your trop-f and maxis so you'll get a more accurate reading is up to you. :dunno:

Grazi! This broad grows like a rocket (thanks nameless!), so the only way to keep her in check is to top the heck out of her. I've been doing lots of pinching lately too - seems like a lower-shock method with a similar result.

He's referin' ta these thangs right hur

Yeah, that's the one. When I go to the store, my brain said "You must find. Something-something-control-plus. You must find. Something-something-control-plus." Just like Reggie Jackson in The Naked Gun

Measuring the weight of the pot isn't practical when everyone's entangled in a screen. The tensiometer is attractive if for no other purpose than it's long (and strong, and probably down to get the friction on) -- longer than the garden variety (pun intended) soil moisture meter..

Hmm. I'll probably continue this internal debate in my brain until I get another 60 g vs 125 g yield disparity as a result of not having taken action. :)

I get it - some measurement is better than none, can't argue that. :)

I'm sure the blumat digi will come soon enough. I just need to quit buying toys (like new pens) and buy the shit that matters.

But incognito stealthy oil machines are cool too.

"Mrs. Nordberg, we think we can save your husbands arm.. ..Where would you like it saved?"

I just scooped a Micro G. It's my first foray into the portable concentrate doodads. For a while now, I've had (and loved) an Arizer Solo, for flowers on the go vape-y styl-ee.

..Seeing how quickly this Micro G heats up (2 seconds?), now I'm going to explore for another portable flower vape'r. The Solo takes about 90-120 seconds to heats up -- which isn't a lot of time in the scheme of things, but if I could get something of the pen variety that'll do as good a job as the Solo, I'm in!
