Dutch Passion Durban Poison Seedling HALP!

Hello all,

First off I want to let you all know that I have researched the issue here but ive come up with so many different possibilities that i have decided to come to you all for a "hopefully" finite answer.

So heres the deal. 2 week old Dutch Passion Durban Poison seedling.
Under 600W MH air cooled hood about 18" away from seedling, 475CFM fan exhausting at about 70% power. I have been watering once the soil has become almost completely dry, which has been about every 2 days. With 6.3-6.8 PH Filtered water at 200PPM. Overwatering is what i suspect is causing the issue. Soil is 3month fertilizing generic potting soil. Which i washed about 5 times to hopefully get most of the crappy nutes out. the temp and humidity info is included in the pic. So the thing im worried about is #1 the drooping of the leaves, #2 the plants size for a 2 week old Sativa dom plant. To me the leaves are not showing any signs of Nute burn or heat burn. Thanks again for taking the time help out a fellow grower. Any tips or changes are welcome. Also i have a bag of FFOF waiting to be put into a 5 gal smart pot once the plant is ready.

Nice strain Danny!
It will take off once repotted,
A case of the medium being kept wet,let it go dry and wait until all medium has is dryied, not just the top.
More medium would have let your roots travel more giving better growth.
Too little medium,
no roots-no shoots.
Best of luck with this!

Danny,
Raise that lamp to 30 inches for a seedling. I would invest in an $8 moisture meter. Soil moisture is deceptive. It can be bone dry on top, and quite moist down below. I seldom use mine, but on occasion it's valuable.

The thing that really sticks out in the photo is 16% humidity. Is that right? That's going to stress the baby. Raise the humidity to 50% and see if that helps. Good luck. -granger

I have one of those $8 meters and its really shoddy. As far as the humidity. Unfortunately that is correct and i really don't have any way to raise it unless you have a suggestion.

Humidity is stressing her and gonna stall slow her growth.. here's what I do since I moved to where humidity is nonexistent.... Spry with clean water multiple times ... Whenever u walk by just mist her she will perk up in minutes and grow much faster... Once it's bigger u could do it less but ... Ya spay her she will thank you..

She was basically "stuck" due to the poor media and I suspect she'll take off in a few days after your recent transplant. Always use a quality mix (sounds like you are now). You might also want to plant em a little higher in the cup next time.

Also, bone dry can be a little too extreme. If you do a weight test let the pot/cup get light but w/o the media becoming bone dry.

Did that soil have any microrizzae added to it? Because by you flushing it out you most like killed any beneficials in the soil. Also I don't know why people worry about ph in soil. I mean soil will naturally buffer. I mean u can ph your nutes but water I wouldn't worry about. Really I have gone a whole grow without ph checking my soil or water with no issues. But then again I must add I don't grow in soil with nutrients added to it like fox farm just usually promix. But I would agree that the plants are over watered for sure. Plus u don't want to really give young plants nutes could screw them up quickly. Wait until they build a good root system before u feed them also dont water till cups feel light. I would also up pot ASAP because those beer cups look half empty with barely any soil. Transplant into a bigger pot then give them a little water. Take a note of how heavy the pot feels with no water than water it and just keep that mental note when the pot feels like to water it. Plants will thrive when the roots have to look for water. Peace mike

I appreciate the info. I have to PH my tap water its 9+ at the tap. Ive read that no nutes are good nutes for seedlings, so thats why i was washing the seedlings medium. Either way shes transplanted and looking healthier already. Who knew growing a weed could be such a pain in the dick.

She almost looks a little hungry. If you decide to feed her feed her lightly. Like a quarter of the recommended dose. That should straighten out the little bit lf yellowing going on with the lower leaves. Looks like she is lacking a little Nitrogen. What I would do since you just up potted her give her a couple of days to adjust and if she doesn't start greening up give her a little shot of base nutes.

Also yes you should adjust your tap that is crazy high. My tap water sits at 7 and last grow I was able to grow in promix my last grow from start to finish I didn't ph anything an the plants came out perfect without no deficiencys or lockouts. Hey to each there own some will say ph water and feed with soil and others will say there is no need with the buffers that are in it.

Also if I were you i would get a humidifier and bring you humidity up 16% is really low and your plants won't thrive as well with low humidity. You want to try to up it to like 50 or 60% if you can keep your tent door shut u could always stick a pot of water in the tent or a wet towel and that will raise your humidity in the tent. Hope all goes well for you. Peace mike

I think ill go with what you said about waiting out the yellowing. The soil is ocean forrest shes in now so that should feed her for some time. The pot and rag idea is so simple i feel like an idiot not thinking to do that. Thanks again for everyones support and input.

Just an update for all the advisors. Pot and Rag fix has raised humidity to 26% and she is thriving now being watered once every 4 days instead of 2. shes soo happy! Thank you all

Well Danny that is good to hear your little ones are doing much better! Yes that humidity trick works like a charm. Just be careful if you are using a rag or towel to switch it out when you start to smell the towel get moldy or mildew u don't want moldy things in the tent can cause u issues. Your best bet would be pots of water no mildew holds more water and evaporates slower. Well good luck if I can help you along the way I will definitely try to. Just remeber to take notes and read around there is a ton of info on this site that will teach you great little tricks. Peace mike
