Nice GB! Cindys gonna fill a few jars for you. Your plants look beautiful.

thanks man... The cindys stole the show and yes they will fill a few jars! Everyday is just kinda like heaven from this point on getting to take a big wiff in the morning and check out the plants. From here on the patience can be tested a bit eh? I'm going the dry trim route this year, have done wet most recent few harvests and never really thought about it other than it seemed to make trimming easier. But reading into it on the forums here and thinking about it, I should have been thinking about it more! So we'll see if its an improvement going that route, I think probably. Anyways thanks for stopping by and good vibes to you and your grows coming down the home stretch :)

Happy lookin' plants, bro! I like that Jedi!
So what's the difference between dry and wet trimming?

So what's the difference between dry and wet trimming?

Thanks, the jedi has some nice buds, its been a good example to me of how important it is to have nice fresh & healthy starts. There has been no diff in the soil and growing conditions between the diff plants, just the c99's were fresh cuts and the jedi had been sitting around indoors for at least 4 months! Its showing now and the pests (aphids and a few mites) are choosing the more vulnerable jedi vs not much of anything on the healthy c99s.

So 'wet trim' for me would be cutting branches for harvest and immediately giving it a full/close trim then hanging the branches to dry. Then when dry I snip the buds off and into the jars. This time I'm only going to remove a few of the largest fan leaves initially and leave all the sugar leaves and everything else on, then hang & dry, then 'dry trim' and into jars afterwards. A bit slower/more even dry and supposedly should help retain more terpenes and better bud quality for long term storage/curing. We'll see...

Starting to see the buds making that turn toward the finish line. Hairs are starting to turn, especially the c99 on the left. It started earlier than her sister on the right and will probably finish first too. Looks like another couple weeks or so to go before they start coming down. Just giving them water from here on out, last time I think I gave them any of the fish/seaweed was almost 2 weeks ago.

Just a waiting game pretty much... I start losing afternoon sunlight these days, pretty much after 2pm they are mostly shaded now. I'm tempted to give the jedi kush a quick hose down and wash due to some aphids and mites on it. Don't want to invite rot, but I think it might be worth it. hmmm, what to do. C99s look great.

Spraying her down would be a calculated risk. Id do it 1st thing in the morning, once the sun hits her and the air warms up some. Shake her out good a couple of times and then watch her very closely.

Yah thats pretty much what I figured, I went ahead and did it this morning. I think it should work out alright, buds/leaves do look cleaner and they seem to be drying pretty well. We had a low temp this morning around 55 and will top out around 75 or so this aftn with humidity 20-30% and a bit breezy so airflow is good. I'm kinda tempted to rinse off the c99s as well.

One little branch on the jedi broke while I was washing her off, so I have a little early tester! The top buds are pretty solid and they still have a ways to go but I think they are looking good..

Tied a few branches higher on the c99s to get them just a bit more sun, and I lifted the jedi smart pot to on top of a rubbermaid to raise it so it gets more sun. The lower half of the plant was in the shadows this morning even at 10am, but now it will get better sun as she finishes up! C99s are anchored in the dirt underneath their smart pots but the jedi not so much so I was able to move her. I did the same thing to my plants last summer.

The weather around here has been just great, perfect finishing fall weather. Plants are looking great, getting closer each day. I had a few hours to myself so I pulled down a few smaller branches off of a c99 and the jedi. They are close although on a closer look while I was trimming I'll let them go a little longer.

Left C99 is definitely getting close. They say its not bad to pull c99 a bit early especially if thats the high you are after. So when I have time available this will be the plant I'm working on first. Right C99 is just looking pretty. Healthy darker green still mostly, buds fattening and looking great. I'm not gonna touch this one other than if a branch looks done, it probably has another week to 10 days at least.

Jedi is getting there also, maybe another week or so I'm thinking. Trichs are mostly cloudy, some clear and not much amber yet. So I'll try to keep watching those and take her when shes prime. Getting a little purp makes the buds pretty. Nice strong smell on the jedi, pungent even.

Wild - yah the cindys, esp the one on the right is the winner for me. And now she's the last one standing...

picture.php

Well for me its a balance of letting them go the distance and finding a window of opportunity to put in the time to do the harvest. And over the past couple days those two came together. Family out of town for a couple days and the left c99 and jedi seemed to be closing quickly. The jedi could have stayed out a bit longer but for all intents and purposes I considered it done, plus it was gonna be the most labor intensive to trim so I needed to take advantage of my trim window.

I decided to do about half full trim as they came down and then half I left more leaves on to see if I can tell if it makes a difference in the final product. Now that the jedi kush is down the smell in the yard is reduced by probably 60-70%. That thing was pungent, more typical weed smell, while the c99s are more subtle and sweet.

The last c99 will stay up a while longer, still a few fresh pistils opening up, still got a nice healthy green to her. I'm thinking maybe another week or so? Maybe long enough so I can make some room in the dry cab, its filling up!

c99 buds on left, jedi on right

couple other shots - c99 bud freshly chopped, c99 bud trimmed and dried a day or so, and last a jedi bud trimmed.

Tribute to the last one standing :) Been my favorite all summer, most vigorous, healthiest and IMO best looking of the three. Fan leaves starting to yellow up a little, trichs are just about all cloudy, few clear/amber as well. Just about prime, but the rest of the plant says keep going just a bit longer. So while I wait for dry space she'll get to go at least a little longer.

You know a plant has that way of telling/showing you how they are feeling. I get a happy feeling from this plant, just like its comfortable and like it has had everything its needed. And kinda like she's saying thanks by giving back some beautiful buds! Anyways... i'm thankful to grow this plant, every round its just cool to watch the whole cycle complete itself over and over again.

well, finished the trim on the first two plants. jedi was easier to trim wet than dry, c99 was a breeze to trim in general but i preferred the dry trim on it. will be interesting to see if there is any noticeable difference from the slightly different methods.

an early taste of the jedi and its good, seems a bit heavier as i would expect and its a nice all around stone. same with c99, good as i expected and definiteley had my head buzzing and my mind contemplating while i was trimming :)

Thanks, well if you find a good one and you like a sativa leaning hybrid then I think you would be happy. These turned out good, especially my favorite one, it was definitely a cut above the other. They look pretty similar to what came out of my indoor run last fall/winter, as you would expect I guess :)

Hey wild well I got some!

Took down the last c99 about a week ago and still finishing trimming it up. She had the nicest buds IMO, frost and structure just really pretty. I'm actually enjoying trimming her, the buds shed those little sugar leaves and really glimmer nice. Lots of trichs on the sugar leaves too so will makes some nice hash/butter. Jedi and other c99 are good too, quality organic smoke but they just aren't quite the lookers.

Here we go, first up my winner for the year the right c99 plant or from the indoor run "C99 #1"

Left C99 plant or "C99 #5"

These were my sampling grounds from last weekend. Nice backdrop to be able to get away for a couple days and sample/enjoy the fruits of the most recent harvest!
