Trying to get shater- still to much solvent

Try checking the ovens temp with out pulling a vacuum, so when you open the door you can get a quick somewhat accurate reading. I would also agree that when your release vacuum the air coming into your oven will change your temperature as to not give you an fully accurate reading, if you were to try and open it to take the temp after release/.

Your slab needs to be much thinner, thinner the better. Inconsistent temperatures, agitation from folding, to high or to low of temperatures can all cause nucleation points to form, where crystallization of your oil will start from then spread threw your whole slab like cancer.

Yea man, with my marble slab, the extract is normally around 20 degrees less than the temp setting.

Also, I have been doing super thin vacs too and its not shattering up. This is all new material from various sources-- and some of it should shatter.... Also, some of the bast shatter i have seen is pretty thick.... and you can tell it was purged as a whole mass, not collected and repressed...

I need that thick CLEAR glass.

been flipping it for a few days. I have waited overnight before putting it back in. I cant dry this oil out... Its too bad because its brand new Jamaica Me Crazy sugar trim...

From rumpwax's video, he said the most important thing for a good vacuum oven purge is understanding this equation....

so maybe we need some custom calibration settings so we can actually know what temp our extract is inside the oven...

I cannot figure this out. Anyone here have some insight... ?
If not I am going to call AI and sort this out.

have you calibrated your oven yet? or are you is it still the same as it got shipped from the factor? i got an ai vac oven as well and still have yet to figure out the calibration settings.. i tried doing the auto calibrate but nothing seemed to change..

how big have your slabs been on each shelf?
have you been releasing the valve and re-vacing? if so how many times before you end up flipping the paddy?

were you going for shatter here and got wax? or did you whip?

did you put the slab on one of the shelves or the bottom of the oven on the metal? is it marble or ceramic tile?

Search forum Mr. Durden posted about his experience with Hydrion. The gist of it was that he likes it better than the AI.

Havent calibrated it yet. Been working with 3g cookies and qp sized slabs. I have gotten wax without releasing pressure once. Other times i took the slab out , folded it over and revacced. None of the last pics were whipped

what I will say.. is that after getting a vacuum chamber.. and retaining lots more terpenes.. its a lot harder tot make a SHATTER that's stable up to 100 degrees.. honestly. especially with buds.. ive noticed my trim runs are way harder then my nug runs.. im guessing the terpenes.. seeing as how. most of the terpenes aren't hard.. there more liquidy then hard.. so I get pull and snap taffy with nug runs.. no matter wat.. I try.. I either get that taffy.. or if I do what u did. and put the temp up to 135-145.. ill end up with that honeycomb.. which isn't bad at all. I like all the forms.. theres a time and a place for every single form of bho.. honestly. lol..

but ya man that shit looks like some fire.. but ya nug runs for me . equal taffy . or wat some call pull and snap sap . I tried winterizing.. on my nug run.. and it didn't harden up much more.. so I figured its gotta be the terpenes. or something.. If I freeze the tubes and butane. I get a nice very light color.. and if I don't freeze I get the darker orangy amber color.

more yields on room temp.. less on the frozen. im guessing since ur not extracting more waxes and lipids using frozen/chilled butane that the yield decrease is probably just waxs n stuff that u don't really want ANYways.

Money Mike- thnx for the reply. Have you
Noticed a cure time for it to shatter up? I made this at around 107 for a couple hours using the rump wax vac oven guidelines. I want to flip the patty but it wont separate from the parch paper yet.

take another piece of parchment put it over the patty.. put them both in the freezer for 10 -15 seconds.. pull it out.. and kinda roll the parchment with the oil on it up.. so as ur rolling it.. your getting it off the piece of parchment.. then u don't need to touch the patty at all. just flip. pull off the parchment top.. and put back into the chamber.. very simple.. easy.. non messy way to do the flip..
