i have decided to start 2 rooms just for everyone at ic, and beyond. these are free to learn and teach to others. it is forbidden to charge money.

made for extremely frugal individuals. save potential thousands. increase yield and quality, decrease labour, costs, losses.

95% of material is bought at the local hardware store

this deep water culture / medical film technique grow will be flipped. so will totally coincide with each-other. i havent ran the rooms in summer yet. so hopefully there wont be any headaches.

i will post the strains i have taken for the 2 rooms. do a couple salad grows. see what happens :)

hope no one is in a rush as i will be cleaning the rooms and setting up over the next 3 weeks. perfect timing for rooting and preveg

lids

lids

this table is 4x10 so its 18 plant sites

- the 4x8 lid gets 15 holes sawed

- the 2x4 lid gets 3 holes

tools - measure tape, 4 3/4 inch hole saw, pen or pencil, dust brush

i always cut the middle and furthest most rows of holes first. then measure to the last 2 rows equally between the first set of holes

i measure 1.5 inches away from the edge of the wood ( for the risers this lid will sit on. this is the end mark for the circle saw.

once sawed and cleaned, place them smoothest side up because water proofing them is next

the bed / root chamber

the bed / root chamber

i just used the table parts from my tophy winning table, the 5x10 i made vidoes of

2 - 4x5 foot peices of osb - bed (make sure to saw a hole in the lowest corner for draiange as pictured)

2 - 2x6x10 studs - frame

2 - 45 inch 2x6 studs - frame

4 - 2x4 or 2x6x2 foot studs for - legs

make a 4x8 or in the case 4x10 frame with the studs, then attach the plywood accordingly, flip over, attach the legs

make sure to make the drain corner the lowest, and the furthest corner from the drain the highest. i typically slop each corner 1 inch above erachother, from lowest to highest

water proofing the lids

water proofing the lids

so the lids are easy

- get some mold proof cualk, like the #2 bathroom stuff

- get a roll of 6 mil vapor barrier from the same store

- roll out a section of poly the length of you table

- cut off the fold as you just need i layer

- caulk a big bead around each whole saw

- thin out the bead with a gloved hand, making sure its even, flat, and covers some ground

- ROLL the poly back over the table, just the way you did to cut it and cut the fold off

- press the poly hard on the caulk underneath to purge any air that may be hanging around for a better seal and stick effect

- let cure for 24 hours

water proofing the beds

water proofing the beds

this is easier

- roll out the poly so 1 foot hangs off each end of the table

- pull one end plumb with the edge and staple

- gently sink the double ply poly into the bed, making sure to leave no creases or air pockets etc. it needs to be a flat as the praries, or water flow will be contsricted and you will regret it. big time

- staple to the tops of the 2x6 risers only. its heavy enuff to stay in place

- cut a small x into the drain hole, then force your fist through it slowly, stretching a nice hole out of the small x cut. this will depress the poly to below the plywood bed, so all the water drains straight down into the res. this is very very important to save your bed from water damage and othe potential problems

finishing/sealing the lids

finishing/sealing the lids

- when the cock cures, cut out poly covering the holes

- flip them over so the poly is now in the inside of the bed/chamber

- cover with panda poly

- cut double crosses into the holes about 4 inches long

- force in the 5 inch baskets, so the remaining 3/4 inches of uncut poly cover and seal the the actual cut part of the wood. this protects from moisture and any other associated potential problems

now the tables are fully sealed and the room officially whited out

my tables are sealed. they never gas off.

there is 2 sides to osb. rough and open, smooth and sealed.

the rough open side is always sealed, so there never is a problem.

now if i built a room, and didnt seal it with paint or poly. then there would be a huge problem

method - step 1

method - step 1

find some f-1 hybrids if you can

or order some clones up, at least 2 x more then needed when buying them

i love feeding 21 3 inch cubes per prop flat with the tray in tray bottom feeding style

soak beans and rockwool to get em ready for action

make sure the room is nice and sealed, clean ready

i like to rub one of those ionizer units in any room for 24-48 hours after polying up. its forces the opposite charge on the poly to really stick tight, no ripple it also zap any potential spores etc that may cause issues with plants. even if it is just a bit. its a byproduct of having nice covered walls

- build the bed frames
- make sure to make drains
- put legs on them
- try to take your own cuts
- or veg 2x more then needed if you buy them
- jam rockwool so the cuts really compete with eachother
- this veg/clone/mother room is in the same space

- in this case i used chloroplast for the lids
- make sure to saw a hole for a 6 inch duct
- use a 4 3/4 hole saw
- plastic is awesome, you can tape all lids together and do em all at once
- make sure to start the drain corner the lowest over the 100gal res
