opt and purple haze are two completely different animals bro...
oregon purple thai is an old cross(thats damn near extinct minus a few old heads who keep cut) made by dj short crossing a highland Oaxacan Gold and chocolate thai...
it is the precursor to blueberry and flo
purple haze is supposed to b a phenotype in the original haze line that Iv been told is more fondly referred to as the root beer pheno.
and as for the haze seedlines... many tend to find them lacking and unable to produce what is the high quality piff in nyc.
however, a good standing member here swears up and down he got a cut of mango haze(mr nice) from clone and grew it out and found it to b the closest thing to THE uptown haze in seed form.

Yes bro thanks for the infos, i already knew the lineage on them and the fact that they were not even in the same league, apart to be two great old crazy sativas hybrids with some colors to be found in them. Maybe not in the "purple" Piff but i don't know, never try any Piffs cause i live on the other side, lol. Yes i saw the report on the mango at the time, should be a good source to find something close, how about the infamous A5 or C5 haze cuts, should be interesting to compare all those gems. :)

I just wanted to saw what they can do in comparison and if people would share more info but i know it's not the right thread. A genepool i would like to combine and explore if i had the parents, would be like the best "purple haze" mother i could find ( like a purple Nyc Piff pheno or Black Haze for example ) with a carefully selected F-13 male.. Sorry i'm was jut dreamin'...:blowbubbles:
Peace

count yourself lucky , last time i actually had purple haze was 1996, or 1997 and can still taste it now and again through certain haze strains that hit that spot .

ps also i think the weather is a big issue when it comes down to harvest times , good winters to bad winters .

peace bro

Santa Cruz Purple Haze did not need Cold to induce color an the Rootbeer pheno was known to produce Purple calyxes with Green leaf

Ace seeds has a Purple Haze selection which is IMO the closest representation available
