reservoir temp vs. Ph ?

just wondering if Ph levels change in a nutrient reservoir when the water temperature changes. any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

i started pre-mixing my nutrients in a 5gal bucket with air stone and circulation pump. i use R/O water and grow in cocco, and hand water twice a day. i adjust my Ph right before i feed in a separate 1 gallon jug.

Hey Doc, Welcome!
I don't have any information on temp affecting PH, but aeration does. I learned that a long time ago in water school, for hot tub repair.
I don't remember the specifics, but if you google "Hot tub ph change aeration", or something like that, you may find some answers.
Regards

thanks man,
this site is great! so much good info on here.

i do have my air pump turned all the way up and it creates a foam on top of the reservoir, kind of like a hot tub would. i'm going to turn it down. i just noticed that the submersible water pump that i use for circulation heats the water a little, thought that might effect the ph but wasn't sure.

instead of adjusting the ph of the nutrient mix in the 5gal bucket reservoir i adjust each feeding separately, only to keep from adding more and more ph down to the reservoir. any thoughts on this technique? i use r/o water from a quarter machine at a gas station that i found in town that has a very low ppm but ph is always between 8 - 9. i try and feed my girls with a ph of 6 - 6.5 and the runoff is always around 7 but never higher than that.

my girls look healthy and strong right now, and i don't want to hurt them.

If your mixing a 5 gallon jug every couple days with RO water why all the need for recirc ??? what nutes are you using ? I use canna in 18 gallon rez's that stay full for 4 days minimum & never have to recirculate anything .
if you have clean nutes & they mix good .... setting a few days is not going to hurt anything . The PH swings ALOT when you recirc it !!!! mix up your 5 gallons real good, feed from it & next time you feed from it .... give it a good stir & check the PH ... i'll bet it hasn't changed much ... if at all :)

i use aurora innovations sole synthetics.
5ml per gallon of the following
grow
bloom
trinity
big swell
and hygrozyme
this is my mix for week 1 of flower

dansbuds i like the advise, i will probably start hand mixing the rez's now and get rid of the pump. or go back to mixing each feeding daily like i used too. the reason i switched to a rez was because i was told that pre-mixing allows the nutrients time to, for lack of a better term "come alive". and this allows for better nutrient uptake. so far everything is looking great, it's just that the time i'm saving with a pre-mixed rez's is now being wasted on double and triple checking the ph all the time.

when using r/o water with a ph between 8 - 9, when is the best time to adjust the ph. before or after the nutrients are mixed? i have always done it after i mix the nutrients.

after all the nutes are mixed . i have no knowledge of the nutes your using , so i really can't give much more advice than i have .
are they clean when mixed like mine ? or are they kinda muddy ? if muddy i can see the need to recirc a setting rez , but like you sad ... the PH HAS to be adjust before each feeding & it might be better to just mix what ya need for 1 feeding & use it right away . my kid has to do that with the V&B dirty formula . its a PIA but it needs to be done that way . it won't stay good in a rez .

good luck Doc .... i'm sure you'll get it figured out :) & yes water temps will effect PH . but it will also effect the plant growth !!! make sure your water stays at room temp .... 72 degrees . to hot or to cold will effect the way they grow .

cool man thanks,

yea these nutrients are real muddy dark and cloudy when mixed with water. going to go back to mixing daily i think. i like aurora and what there all about, and i have had great success with there nutrient line. i used to use GH's maxibloom but i like supporting the little guys in this industry if you know what i mean.
