Different rules for medical, recreational pot divide advocates and regulators

now if Washington State made it so it was only a $1 a gram.... like the government did in Uruguay...they even allow home grows

Yeah, Uruguay understands that prohibition and over regulation lead to a gang dominated black market. Now if you're stuck in an authoritarian mindset and want to support the prison/industrial/banking complex then tax and regulate away to your heart's desire. If you want to support guns gangs and cartels then over regulate and threaten to throw people in jail.

If you wish to stop destroying people's lives, then just let them grow and keep what they want.

Its all about making sure you don't grow your own. All the new legalization laws are moving away from self cultivation. They made it illegal so they could make money. Now that the lie has fallen apart they are making sure you can't grow so they can make more money. Fuck them all.

I been in Washington for a long time. I know dozens of growers. Medical Marijuana allowed a lot of people to develop a hobby and become comfortable with this lovable herb. I don't think a single one will even consider shutting down their operation. We all SURVIVE off this plant. This plant is our lifeblood. It feeds us, heals us, gives us something to look forward to. We can't pay our bills, eat, poop, or feed our family without it. They won't be able to take it back without killing us. It just isn't gonna happen.

Growers weren't exactly growing in the public eye before. We will just continue to do what we were already doing. If they want to try and scare off a few growers so that I can sell my weed for more than 150 an ounce, I should say thanks.

All of these proposed changes in Washington were predictable and that's why I voted against it. No more growing for patients; you mean to tell me you didn't see that one coming? Also they are going to make it VERY strict for who can get a med. card. They are going to make you buy from the company store. This was all so predictable.
The also want to use a large part of the new tax revenues for, guess what? That's right you guessed it, ENFORCEMENT. Governments know how to protect their monopolies. You think government agencies were tough for illegal growing, wait and see how tough they are when they catch you taking money from their pockets. Guess who is going to start taking very close looks at electric bills? You get the picture.
That government controlled legalization thing was such a good idea wasn't it?

Right with you, BigSteve. Just rigging up my new tent as we speak. It's always gonna be 78 degrees and sunny here.
I've been so damn mad all day I could spit nails. I called a couple of my lifelong friends who don't grow, or even smoke much, if at all. I wanted a reality check (What friends are for, right?)
I explained what was being proposed, and asked them what they thought. Both of them agreed 100%. Big power grab, nothing to do with legitimate medical use, all about the money.
When my church going, Republican buddies say "What the fuck, you've got to be kidding me. This will never fly!", we know we have a problem, Houston.
They have known me since we were kids, and we have had heated debates in the past. Not on this one.
I think the state is in for a shitstorm, unless this is amended heavily, before being signed.
That said, it appears they are going to ram this up our asses, by hustling it through the halls of injustice, without much public comment.
Can't build a fuckin' bridge out of Chinese concrete, but you can step in and fuck legitimate medical users, eh boys?
My hands are shaking, I don't need this bullshit.

I'm still really glad we voted in the legalization. I figured that in the end, we would have a really shitty legalization. But it would start the domino effect leading to federal legalization.

I had a feeling it would be a battle once we got things going. And that medical would take some blows. The battle has now started. I guarantee I'll be the last one standing, weed in hand. The whole reason we got legal pot is because people wanted to stop the senseless jailing. The more that they keep up this bullshit the more they will lose in the end. There are thousands of growers in Spokane. They couldn't even fit us all in our jail. And if they try, it will just get worse.

They are making things worse for themselves.

I will never be able to get relief from the so called medication those 'dispensaries' slop at people, I'm absolutely fucked if those chuckle fucking morons are going to make me get my medicine covered in PM from those idiots thinking they're hot shit

the state is out of there mind.....
example....
currently 200 medical dispensaries providing for patients....

how will only 21 state stores... provide for all those patients plus other people....
there will be lines out the door around the block causing problems....
hippsters are not going to stand in line w/ the sick and handicap...
on the side of the road waiting for medicine....or recreational weed....

the whole story would/WILL make national news....

When were the state stores supposed to be opening for business? I forgot and don't want to look through the papers.

Fuck them all. Is there ANY jury in WA that will convict a home owner for growing in their own home? I fucking doubt it.

It is time to start burning police cars and "retiring" ANY judge who signs a search warrant for cannabis.

Total pot production would be capped at 40 metric tons next year in rules approved Wednesday by the state Liquor Control Board.

So what happens when the 80,000 pounds are smoked up halfway through the year?

Here's a point I made before, in another post, but it bears consideration.
Who's doin the growin?
There are a handfull of guys I have seen on here, that I believe could handle a job like that, and that's after 4 years of lurking, and reading.
As I understand it, there is no resume required, to get a state grower's license. How could there be? "Uhhh, yeah, well.... I've been running a 400 plant grow for the last few years, burning 30,000w, so ummm, well, can I get the license? I'm over qualified..."
So, I ask again, who's doin the growin?
Even if we chose to buy from a state store, are we going to get truly top quality bud? Medical grade?
I seriously doubt it. Nothing like this has been attempted before, and with the state in charge, I do not give much hope for the final product. Honestly, I'm expecting 1980's quality commercial, with no mold, and an insane price tag, that I can put to shame, in my garage, drunk....
Time is money, so look only for the fastest flowering, highest yielding strains. (How much AK47 can you stand, before it's no help anymore??)
Damn, still fuming over this. I know I should let it go, and change the things I can. Yeah, yeah. Goddamit!
Regards

You should let it go, and don't try to change anything. Just keep overgrowing the world and undercutting the state price. Fuck them right in the ear!

All they know is THC content. They don't understand THC/CBD ratios. They don't comprehend terpenoid profiles. It's going to be shwag and they'll want to call it medical. The same cannabis grown for mass commercial consumption will be expected to satisfy the needs of all medical users. The best thing coming out of this is that the smell of pot smoke will no longer be reason for police to enter someone's house.

I knew this shit would happen! They want you to stop growing so they can control the market. This sorry ass government won't even do the will of the people and we are suppose to stop and listen to them? To all the growers in Seattle, please fight to change this and don't turn off the lights! I WILL NEVER STOP GROWING even if it comes with a death sentence!

remember.... folks... these are ONLY ....RECOMMENDATIONS.... going to law makers in OLympia...... any major changes to the existing medical laws .... WILL have to be Voted on by the public.....

Its one thing for the state to reel in the medical community and apply SOME rules to keep things a bit more in line ....than the often uncontrolled that goes on now....

BUT taking away the right to grow ones own for medical people will never work...
Medical has grown there own for almost 20 yrs... in this state....

and for the Liquor control board to tell me I cant grow....

in a state that allows home beer and wine production ....

is complete blasphemy, contradiction, and nonsense.....
