New Grow

Hi Guys,

SO IT BEGINS

i have started my new grow i have taken all what i have read on here.

filtered all the water
php 5.5 left to settle for an hour checked again and was 5.6 so perfect. let the rockwool soak in the water for over an hour. placed all the seeds using tweezers half an inch in.

using a bud box and a propagator, inside temp 22.5 c all misted up.

lets see how we go. When should i add the lights ? and how far from the need sprouts ?

lights i have our as follows

· 1 x Envirogro T5 – 4Tube x 2 Foot Fluorescent Light – 8000 Lumens

some help on these would be great i need to make sure i get the height perfect, and how long i need them on for

I think because heat isn't really an issue with the t5 units, you can have it very close to the plants, or in this case the propagator, which out worry.

perfect that's great news and i can have these on for how long is it 12 hours on 6 of ?

thats the one lol so i can start the lights now and when the sprouts come out they will be good, how long do they stay in the propagator for is it 2 weeks then into the hydro system

I'm assuming these are from seed as you've not mentioned cloning? I usually wait until the roots have come through the pellet/cube and it has a few true sets of leaves up top. I remember the first time I tried to grow under HID light and I cooked it! I made the mistake of putting my newly popped seed under HID light when it couldn't cope with the intensity of the light or the heat because it didn't have enough of a root network. Live and learn hey.

What strain are you running?

yeah germinating in the rockwool, im using ak49 and strawberry cough. so you think to put lights on when sprouts come out or when i can see roots at bottom of rockwool

Sorry, I'm making this confusing.

I usually leave mine in a cupboard until the seeds have cracked. Then I'll plant them up into Jiffy pellets and pop them under my cfl's, for you the T5. Once they have established some sort of true leaves and roots I'll drop it into the hydro system and change to HID (MH bulb) light.

will not make much difference will it ? lots of different ways to germinate and i liked this way

same with the lights can i add them now on the timer and they should be fine ?

Each to their own! I use a shot glass of water until the tap root has emerged then I transfer to paper towel before planting up in a Jiffy pellet.

I usually put under lights once the cotyledons have popped out.

so i shall leave in the dark moist dome until i see the Cotyledons pop out then get the lights on ? will that not shock them or they will be fine

I honestly don't think it will make any difference. I don't put them under a lamp just to save having another set of lights on!
