Im sure they're fine for use with regular timers, just not monitors/controllers.
Interesting, what do controllers do different? Are they afraid of just the "fuzzy logic" controllers that can be known to switch on/off rapidly at times?
i am using induction lighting which reduces the heat from the lights by 70% so by my thinking the extra heat will be canceled out and i live in a cold climate that helps to but its going to be interesting my journal is at http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=199997

i think the only way is either to change my flowering tent setup (break the room up which would have the benefit of increasing its size) or get rid of the Hotbox sell it and buy Co2 tanks

I'm making the propane tank or "beverage" CO2 tank decision. I have a chronic back but not tooo bad. Can anyone tell me the difference in weight between an aluminum 20 pound (capacity) CO2 tank and a 20 pound steel propane tank?
Edit: An ebay seller lists the empty aluminum tank as being 25 pounds. Propane101.com lists an empty 20 pounder as weighing 18 pounds. Assuming the ebay listing is showing actual weight (not "dimensional shipping weight"), the propane option weighs seven pounds less.

well, we'll see what happens in my 5x6 room then.....
I reduced the burners to 2, and given that website to calculate gas usage, it should run for 3 minutes to reach 1500ppm, then clicking on and off who knows..
we should know here in 1 1/2 weeks I say..
quick ?.. can i expect any yield gains (5%?? or quicker maturing) by starting co2 in week 5 of flower or is this too late.. havent used co2 this run because i was worried about summer heat.. but my temps are much lower now than during the winter (when i was heatiing the house and inadvertently the grow room). my room is quickly interchangable to sealed, so no prob there.. but one of my other concerns is rh.. running 60% now.. as it has been rainy. not sure i have enough amps in my room to run my gen and dehuey (running 1k, a fan, a 1.5 amp inline fan, a gen, a controller, and a dehuey) on a 20 amp, I have access to another 20 amp, but the wiring wasn't done by me and im not vdery trusting of it, 14 guage, on a 20 amp fuse.. big nono, could prob safely runa few amps on it though. also not sure how much that'll raise the temps? .. in the low 70's now, no ac.. air cooled 1k light. guess i'll have to do the legwork and check it out.. but brings me back to my original question? is it worth it for three weeks.. or did that ship sail? also, anyone run co2 in veg? (for future runs) ty very much for any help, input, experience or thoughts.. its greatly appreciated..

since CO2 is heavier than regular air, if you had say 12' ceilings and mounted the exhaust fan at the ceiling height, could you get to reasonable CO2 loss levels?

So, if we have intake temps from an inline fan at ~70F without exhausting the air and we also use cooltubes for the lights, its not possible to have temps at about 90F to use CO2? If air conditioning is a must at all cases, this gets pretty expensive.

How will you have intake without exhaust? Running cool air thru your hoods will certainly help, but in a true cea ie no air exchange, you are absolutely going to have a humidity issue within minutes of sealing your room. AC not only keeps your room cool. It removes the moisture. If you ad a dehuey, you will be adding heat. It was better for me to simply run open hood to continually ad heat to the room and run my AC 80-90% of the time.
So I sealed my tent added co2 on a timer and did a calculation on hydrofarm website. I harvested 3 plants so far and haven't seen an increase in yield. I run a portable ac to keep temps 82 to 85. My ac has a vent which runs out of my tent to a vent in my garage. I'm thinking my co2 is getting sucked out my ac vent. I am thinking i have been wasting my co2. But my 20# tank last a month or so.i am thinking my ac vent should get disconnected and sealed up. Any input is appreciated

i kno a fella that gets 8 weeks on a 20# in a 12x13x8 room set at 900 ppm.
I think those portables suck out the air in the room.
if you can smell anything in the AC exaust your losing Co2.
also get one of these and you'll know exactly whats going on

I thought a month wasn't too bad. An exchange on my tank is only 14 bucks. I guess I need to pull the vent on my ac. Hopefully that solves it. Still need to figure out what to do in summer in the desert. I'm running 2 1ks in vert no way I can run my ac without a vent during summer. Vert is a bitch for environmental control if you live in a hot climate. I need an ac with a recirculation feature. Haven't seen one. Yet. I plan on buying a co2 controller with this crop so that will tell me how bad it is
I have a 8500 btu portable ac from Boston products I think. The recirculation feature which I dont have works like a household ac. the air intake Pulls air from the area being cooled and cools no exchange of outside air
