Walk away from it, Plant and Prosper, and don't return there. Hopefully you have another couple of grows going elsewhere, to spread out your risk.

Yeah that is kinda creepy.leaving a couple of plants sort of posed. I agree with your guess that there is a trail cam there for sure. A ripper would have left nothing of value behind, so your visitor is to be avoided at all costs.

Not worth going back since some trail cams will send real-time pictures to the camera operator's phone, so they know when someone is there as it happens.

I'd go back and get the rest before that goes away too. No one is setting you up. Just people who got scared and were in a rush to take your other plants.

I feel like youre right, there might be cams out there. The only thing that isn't adding up is they LEFT my tarp alone back there by the plants. It's in plain sight. Had garbage (soil bags, pots, nutrient bags) so I feel like it wasn't cops or they would have taken that as evidence. It all depends. Would they fingerprint some trash over 10 plants?

There was a tarp of all things, scattered soil bags, pots, all in plain sight?!? A bird can spy a dixie cup guerrillas used to transplant clones.. from the air. This is what westnet looks for, trash and plants in rows and or near water sources; but mainly trash.
I wouldn't ever fuck around with that location again and never leave things around next time, that and carrying in water are the golden rules IMO.

i think they were thieves that couldn't carry away any more then they did. by now the might have picked up the rest though. if you feel the need to go back, do disguise your features and put duct tape on the sols of your shoes/boots so you don't leave distinct prints.

not something cops would do.are your two plants done? go back at night and bag them to go.25% of bud is better than nothing.

its funny, but true.criminals all ways return to the seen of the crime.grow far away next year.

id suggest going back and looking for a deer camera that isnt yours that has your unmasked face on it....

if you find one then its the police... if you dont, then i wouldn't think its the police...

whoever left the 2 was being a somewhat generous yet greedy ripper if you ask me..... leaving 2/8? and taking 6/8? that means they had about 25% heart.... 75% greed...

Too bad you didn't have a wireless trail cam of your own set up there bro. Instant notification via text or email. I always wanted to get one of those for outdoor season just in case something like this happens.

Trail cams with instant message are good although there are some downsides to that one which make it a good second option to a FLIR device.

I suggest purchasing equal or better technology than the cops might use if you have the money, which you should have unless this is your first outdoor crop that got shagged.

Invest in a FLIR Scout thermal scope (Cabellas/Gander Mountain/Bass Pro) = 2,000 to 3,000 dollars. Thoroughly scan your area for hot spots every step of the way when you visit the grow site. Anything that's living will show a heat signature from a good distance away, and trail cams should show signatures as well (if not then a bandana covers a good ID which they need to prosecute). You will never get ambushed by the cops ever again if you use this device correctly and practice good recon techniques (see Ranger handbook.) Small price to pay for that kind of insurance. Then you can basically grow your ass off without worrying about ambush predators (wild hogs=cops) or being watched, followed, you name it.

As far as getting ripped though, that's a different story.

Most likely if it were the cops trying to bust you, they wouldn't have uprooted anything and would have set up the trail cam and made it look like no one was there.

Rippers could only carry 6 at a time and didn't feel like hiking back for the last 2.

Sorry for your loss.
Most likely the work of hunters.
I would also go back tonight with hopes to salvage what you can.

I would also go undercover opening day of hunting season just to see who shows up

Cops wouldn't leave any plants at all. Especially on a measly 4 plant plot. They would take them all. It was someone who didn't have enough room or time to take them. Go back at night, cut them down and take them home. Wear a ski mask just in case. From my experience cops don't pull the plants, they cut them with saws or clippers.

You people thinking cops are wasting their time setting up surveillance on a little ass pot grow makes me laugh. Get a clue.
