its about trying to become in-tune with peace and love in a continual commitment of experience and understanding. securing your future but, not dwelling in the past, all while living in the continuous moment of now.

here is what is real: consciousness, being, present awareness, presence, experiencing, now, love, peace, happiness

this is what we "are" - and "not" something to aim for or desire

our thoughts, ego, perceptions, are not real, in and of themselves, they are simply indirect activities occuring inside of what we really "are" - i.e. consciousness, present awareness, presence, being, now, love, peace, happiness.

what is real doesn't come and go, it is always and only now

what is not real, comes and goes, and is always temporary.

===================

obviously there are a few paradoxes, - in relation to our false-self-mind that is, but NOT in relation to our real-self, - and the major one is that everything that is occuring AS our experience is consciousness itself, it is one, undivided experience, there is no separation.

experience is like one sheet, or one screen

on this sheet or screen stuff appears, but it is still this sheet/screen that is fundamental and always the same, unchanging

what changes are the images on the sheet/screen, and these are temporary

the sheet/screen, the only thing that is real is the "now-experience"

the images are temporary illusions and are not real in and of themselves

believing that we are these images is what leads to pain, suffering, and struggle

the primary suffering that results from these false beliefs/assumptions are feelings of being trapped, loneliness, and doubt

as long as one believes and assumes that he is an image, and not the real thing (screen/sheet/i.e.consciousness) he will continue to suffer and struggle until the end of the false-egoic-self.

in simple words: the only thing that is real is the experience occuring now.

the experience occuring now is the ONLY THING we ever have going on.

...it is the only thing real.

our body, mind, and the world are temporary images in this experience, they are NOT what we are.

we are the experiencing itself, while the body, mind, and the world are occuring inside of us.

I know this is some tough shit to accept, but the only things in the way of one being aware of this - are thoughts, concepts, beliefs and assumptions.

these are all conceptual in nature, and are secondary events and activities

they are not what is real and fundamental

enlightenment is simply being aware that we are the "now" experience ITSELF!!!

you do realise that without our brain, we cease to have any thought or consciousness. hence why your theory is completely bunk.

the mind and body co exist

the mind and body co exist

what I realize is that the mind, body, and the outside world are all in-direct perceptions, and don't really exist.

everything that the body/mind perceives is a secondary process.

our awareness interprets data collected through our sense organs.

so consciousness/awareness comes first, the body/mind/world come second, and are not real in and of themselves.

without consciousness/awareness there would be nothing

no brain, no body, no world, nothing

consciousness is what is

what is real, what is now, what is primary

this experience occuring now, and always, and only now, is what is real

it is all one, whole, undivided

this means that there is no separate flesh, blood, bodies, minds, thoughts, or material things in the world

what is occuring is this: consciousness is aware as this experience occuring NOW.

hello southflorida,

isn't the present moment, the now, also conditioned by secondary perceptions though?

afterall, we are in the now, in the present, but only as presented (pun intended) to us by what you have described as "nerve endings".

hi bombadil.

consciousness is the now, it is what always is.

perception is a secondary process

a good analogy is the movie screen, which is fundamental

while perception is the movie playing on the screen, and is secondary

Following your line of thought, this would make you a 'God' who was bored alone in the Universe and had an urge to think up this game called 'conscience to apear out of mathematical logic'.

Can be, but while you were at it (as a God) you also designed the system on a way that it would trick ppl like Siftedunity in believing differently. :D

So now you got it all figured out and can return to earth in the shape of a typical human beeing like Siftedunity while having to tap from his type of perception as a secondary option.

(no offence intended towards Siftedunity in this respect, the reference of his persona is just annecdotally intended.

Thing is Southflorida, I suggest you try wrapping your mind around 'conflicting notions having the same merit' since they all exist simultaniously at once.

But I don't know how far you are right now with your experiments.
Once you understand things the way you seem to do right now, It can also bring you into a trance that could alienate you from who you were before.
Once you're in that trance, things can also go very very wrong.^^

One thing I learned from a person I respect most of all, ma wife > Never become a fanatic! :D
